A nailboard / cable drawing is derived from a workspace / workdesk. At the moment of derivation, the nailboard / cable drawing is "synchronous" with the source document, but then the nailboard / cable drawing becomes independent. For synchronizing the nailboard / cable drawing with the current state of the source document, the Update nailboard / cable drawing functionality is available.
The following commands and situations are affected by the Update nailboard / cable drawing function:
- When a workspace / workdesk / a wire harness / a cable unit doesn't exist any more
- Update of bundle / cable etc., update of wire harness / cable unit topology
- Complete update of table contents
- Update of inner and outer dimensions (dimensions created with the Dimension command are retained)
- Update of spider and connectable object symbols
- Update of user-defined control points
- Update of colors of bundles, cables, and wires
- Retaining of all specific properties (hatches; colors; how special components, cable ties, labels, and user-defined points are displayed)
- Update of drawing header data
- Update of objects connected to control points
- No update of Fan in / Fan out functions
- Clearing of Undo / Redo queues after update
- Changes in updated items in Library are not applied to the nailboard / cable drawing
- Invalid cable units are not updated in cable drawings.
The Update nailboard / cable drawing function does not update wire harness components by their versions. When there is, e.g., a connector with version 1.0 placed in the workspace (and it is part of the appropriate wire harness) and there is a version 2.0 of the same connector available in the library, the component will not be replaced.
- Select the Edit > Update nailboard / cable drawing menu items or the button on the toolbar.
A prompt for confirmation is displayed. - Click [OK].
