Creating Complex Entities

Complex entities can be created by using the Create complex entity command or by simply using the Copy and Paste commands ([Ctrl] + [C] and [Ctrl] + [V]). While creating a complex entity, objects can be added to it or an empty complex entity can be created. Objects can also be subsequently added to existing complex entities.

Create complex entity with objects

  1. Select the Complex entities > Create menu items or the button on the main toolbar and select the objects. Or select the objects first and then activate the Create complex entity command.
  2. In the command bar, click the (Add selected object to selection tree) button.

The objects are shown in the command bar (if objects were selected first, they are displayed in the command bar right away).

Selecting one object can require other objects to be also added to the complex entity. If, e.g., a wire is selected, the connectors the wire is connected to are mandatory.
  3. In the command bar, click [OK] to confirm the selection.

The complex entity is created and placed on the same coordinates as the original objects. Therefore you may need to move it.

Create empty complex entity

  1. Select the Complex entities > Create menu items or the button on the main toolbar.
  2. In the command bar, click [OK].

An empty complex entity is created. Objects can be added to it later.
