The Merge control points function entails various operations between bundles, wires, cables and objects like clips, leading parts, and special components:
- You can pull wires, cables, or bundles through a clip.
- You can pull ribbon cables through inline ribbon grouped pins.
- You can connect a bundle end point to a leading part.
- You can replace a bundle control point by a special component.
- You can attach a bundle, wire or cable control point to a bundle.
Pull bundle (wire, cable) through clip
- Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
- Select an inner point of a wire, cable, or bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
- Click on a clip.
The control point will be placed on the clip.
Note:
If you first select a clip and then a bundle point, the clip will move to the selected point's position.
Pull ribbon cable through inline grouped pin
- Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
- Select an inner point of a ribbon cable (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
- Click on an inline ribbon grouped pin.
The control point will be placed on the grouped pin.
Note:
If you first select an inline ribbon grouped pin and then a ribbon cable control point, the inline ribbon grouped pin will move to the selected point's position.
Connect bundle end point to leading part
- Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
- Select a bundle end point by clicking.
- Click on a leading part (or grommet) end point.
The end point of the bundle will be connected to the leading part's end point.
Replace control point by special component
- Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
- Select an inner point of a bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
- Select a special component.
The selected point of the bundle will move to the special component, and the bundle will be split in two.
Note:
If you first select a special component and then a bundle point, the special component will move to the selected point's position.
Attach control point to bundle
- Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
- Select an inner control point of a wire, cable, or bundle by clicking.
- Select an inner point of a bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
The selected control point will move to the position of the inner bundle point.
