Creating Polygons

A polygon is a closed 2D object with three or more sides. To create a polygon, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Polygon button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the first point by clicking on the desired location in the working window.
  3. Determine the other points in the same way.
  4. The last key point will be anchored when you right-click.
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Polygon button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Polygon button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the X and Y coordinates of the first point in the command bar and confirm with [OK].
  3. Determine the next point (first segment of the polygon) in the same way or switch to the Distance command in the command bar and determine the Length and Angle values of the segment.
  4. Determine the other segments in the same way.
  5. Click the [Finish] button to complete the polygon.
  6. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Polygon button again, if desired.
