Selecting, moving and rotating nodes

Select an individual node or edge by left-clicking the object. To select multiple nodes or edges, either click them one after another while holding down the [Shift] key or drag a frame around the objects as shown in the following screenshot. To accomplish this, click and hold the left mouse button in the first corner of the frame and then move the mouse diagonally to the opposite corner. When the mouse button is released, all of the objects contained within the frame are selected.

Another option is to select the first object with the mouse and then add other objects to the selection by pressing the [Shift] and [Arrow] key.

If an object is selected, it can be moved with the mouse or with the following key combination: decimal point + arrows. The same can be done with multiple objects selected, without changing their positions in relation to each other.

If an object is configured to allow rotation, it can be rotated via popup menu > Rotate > 90° to the right or popup menu > Rotate > 180° clockwise or with the following key combinations: [Ctrl] + [R] for clockwise and [Ctrl] + [L] for counterclockwise. When an object is rotated, the new upper-left corner occupies the same position as the old upper-left corner, as illustrated in the following screenshot of a robot being rotated 90° to the right. The arrow points to the upper-left corner.

For the diagram in the screenshot above, the node for the robot is configured as master and its label is configured as slave. To ensure that the slave remains legible, it is not rotated, but instead retains its position on the lower side (SOUTH) of the master. For more information on masters and slaves see Nodes as master with slave.
