Creating Annotations

An annotation is an explanatory note. To create an annotation, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Annotation button on the toolbar.
  2. Place the annotation where desired in the 2D workspace. The 1st click places the base of the annotation and the 2nd click places the annotation itself.
  3. You can place the annotation freely (using the Free drawing mode) or link it to a key point (using the Key points function).
  4. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Annotation button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Annotation button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the X and Y coordinates of the base of the annotation and confirm with [OK].
  3. Determine the Font properties, edit the text as you wish, and either click [Apply] or continue by determining the X and Y coordinates and clicking [OK]. Alternatively, you can switch to the Distance command and determine the Length and Angle values of the segment and then click [OK].
  4. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Annotation button again, if desired.
