The EPLAN Harness proD Library 3D environment allows you to measure distances. This type of measurement only serves for checking purposes. All the dimensions disappear once another command is activated.

Dimension types

There are two types of measurements available:

• Linear dimension allows you to measure individual dimensions. You just select a starting and an end point to measure a distance.
• Continued dimension on the other hand allows you to measure a sequence of connected dimensions including their total length. The total length is displayed at the end of each dimension chain. For chain dimensioning, just select the starting point and with every left click you create one further link of the measurement chain. Right-click to terminate the chain.

Measuring distances

1. Select the Tools > Measuring menu items or the button on the toolbar.
2. Then, in the command bar, select the Free, Key point or Surface dimension option.
3. Select the dimension type (Linear dimension () or Continued dimension ().
4. Measure the desired distances.
5. Clear all the dimensions by using the Delete command or by starting any other command.
