Library Items

There are library item types (part types) which are managed in the EPLAN Harness proD library. These are subdivided into seven groups according to their application.

For each item type, plenty of information can be assigned. The different types of data are grouped into sections which are available for all part types (the Global properties, Additional info and Attached parts sections) and those which depend on the particular item type (item-specific properties, 2D and 3D representation).

Note:

You can directly branch to the item-specific properties' description by clicking on the icon of the desired part in the table below.

Create a new part

There are two ways to create a new part. The first one lets you select any part type and define a category. The other possibility is to create a part directly in the existing category (the part type is then predefined by the category content).

Creating arbitrary part

  1. Select the Part > New part menu items or click the button on the toolbar.
  2. In the Create new part wizard select the part type and click [Next].

The wizard's next dialog for selecting an appropriate subtype is opened.
  3. Select the subtype of the part and click [Next].

The wizard's next dialog for determining the basic part information is opened.
  4. Enter (optionally) a part name, select a category, determine some part-specific properties, and click [Finish].

The part-specific tab is opened in the part environment.
  5. Complete the required information, at least the mandatory entries, and save the part.

Creating part in existing category

  1. In the Categories panel, select the desired category with assigned part type and launch the Part > New part command.

The part-specific tab is opened in the part environment.
  2. Complete the required information, at least the mandatory entries, and save the part.
