3D Object Control Commands

This group of commands serves for the control and basic adjusting of existing 3D objects within the 3D working window.

Pointer

This command serves mainly for selecting objects for further actions. With the [Ctrl] key pressed down you can make a selection of several objects at once.

Moving the mouse while pressing the middle mouse button, the view rotates around the camera target. Per default the camera target is positioned in the center of the current view. If the mouse pointer is positioned on an object, the target is temporarily moved to the center of the bounding sphere of the object.
While holding the [Shift] key and clicking on an object, the camera target is moved to the bounding sphere center of the selected object.

Note:

Clicking with the left-hand mouse button while holding the [Alt] key opens an object selection dialog. Here, the parts of the object are listed. Clicking an item in the list selects it. The [Show all] button toggles the visibility of the items related to the object.

Move

This command makes it possible to move objects within the working window via mouse. When active, select the desired object (or multi-select objects using the left-hand mouse button in combination with the [Ctrl] key); the handlers are displayed. Objects can be moved in both the global coordinate system and the local coordinate system of the object. You can switch between these coordinate systems in the command panel.

Rotate

Using this command you can rotate selected objects. Once the object is selected, the rotation handler is displayed. Rotation of objects can be done in both the global coordinate system and the local coordinate system of the object. You can switch between these coordinate systems in the command panel. Rotation around the X and Y axes is available only in the local coordinate system.

Scale

This command makes it possible to increase / decrease the object size with no impact on the object's proportions. Usage is similar to the Move and Rotate commands. The scale handler is displayed for the selected object. You can then determine its scale with the mouse.

Highlight

This command functions like a toggle and determines whether objects are highlighted when the cursor is over them (and the Pointer command is active) or not.
