Creating Grids

A grid is a pattern of horizontal and vertical lines. To create a grid you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Grid button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the first point by clicking on the desired location in the working window.
  3. Determine the next point in the same way. This point will define the grid's width.
  4. As you move your mouse, a grid will be created and completed on your third mouse click. (Functionally, this is similar to creating a rectangle.)
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Grid button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Grid button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the X and Y coordinates of the first point in the command bar and confirm with [OK].
  3. Determine the second point in the same way or switch to the Distance command in the command bar and determine the Length and Angle values of the segment.
  4. Determine the number of rows and columns in the corresponding fields, specify the length, and click [OK] to complete the grid.
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Grid button again, if desired.
