One or more cable charts may be integrated into the forms for terminal and plug diagrams. The cable chart shows which cable connection connects a terminal or pin with the target device; the cable connections are sorted according to cables.
Each form usually contains two cable charts, e.g., left for the external and right for the internal connection points of terminals / pins. Cable charts for specific form positions (A, B, C, or D) are also an option, as well as cable charts that contain two combined form positions each (usually "A and C" or "B and D"). The form positions may be entered at the corresponding terminals or pins (in the Connections tab of the properties dialog).
Example: The following terminal diagram contains two cable charts. The external connection points of the terminals are shown on the left, the internal ones on the right.
Cable chart structure
The cable chart consists of a header and a data area. The cable properties will show in the header, the cable connection properties in the data area. The header usually has the same alignment as the data area. Of course, it is also possible to show the header perpendicular (meaning turned by 90°) to the data area; in this case the form property Cable chart: Header perpendicular to data area has to be activated.

Establish spacing
The spacing in the data area is specified in relation to the form orientation: Positive values run parallel to the form orientation, negative ones opposite.
If the header has the same orientation as the data area, it is sufficient to set all spacing via the data area only (properties Cable chart: Spacing for data area ...). The column or line spacing in the header will then be taken from the data area.
If the header is perpendicular to the data area, the spacing of the header and the data area will then be set up separately. The properties Cable chart: Spacing for header ... can be used for the header and the properties Cable chart: Spacing for data area ... for the data area. Note that there are separate properties available for the various form positions, as well as the external and internal connection points.
Display the cable and cable connection properties
The Cable chart header ... placeholders may be used to display the cable properties in the header of the cable chart. If the header has the same alignment as the data area, you need to choose the properties only via the Cable chart header placeholder. If the header is turned in relation to the data area, please use the Cable chart header external, Cable chart header internal, or Cable chart header via form position placeholders.
The appropriate Cable chart data area external, Cable chart data area internal, and Cable chart data area via form position placeholders may be used to display the properties in the data area.
If you do not want to see certain properties of the cable connections, but only if the cable connection is connected to a terminal or a pin, then cable connections and also individual connections in the terminal diagram can be displayed as a replacement character. The replacement character is specified in the dialog Settings: Display / output (can be accessed via Options > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Reports > Display / output).
Display individual connections in the cable chart
Individual connections can also be displayed in the cable chart, i.e. connections, that are not cable connections of a cable. This will be specified in the form by selecting the Display all connections check box for the Cable chart data area ... placeholder texts used there.
The individual connections are entered in the opposite direction of the cable connections in the data area of the cable chart, meaning that if the cable chart is set up in columns, the cable connections will start in the first column, the individual connections in the last column. Therefore, if the cable connections are entered from right to left, the individual connections will be entered from left to right.
Eight columns have been defined for the cable chart. When reports are generated, the first cable found will be written into the first column from the right (red 1), the second cable into the second column from the right (red 2), etc. The first located individual connection will be written into the first column from the left (green 1), the second individual connection into the second column from the left (green 2), etc. If there is no column available, a new report page will be started.
This example shows the cable DT (placeholder text Cable chart header / DT (full)) and the cable type (placeholder text Cable chart header / Cable type) in the header of the cable chart. Individual connections show the properties Connection: Cross-section / diameter, Unit for connection cross-section / diameter, and Connection color / number instead of the cable type. This replacement happens automatically, without a new placeholder text having to be established.
Cable connections in the data area will display the connection color / number (placeholder text Cable chart data area external / Connection color / number); individual connections will be shown with the replacement character "*".
Rules for the display of individual connections in the cable chart
The cable chart will, as a rule, only show those individual connections that vary from the default values of the project. Connections that display the same property values Connection: Cross-section / diameter (ID 31002), Unit for connection cross-section / diameter (ID 31059), Connection color / number (ID 31004), and Remark (ID 20045) as the default values of the project settings will not be displayed.
Separate placeholders in the header of the cable chart are not necessary for the individual connections. If the data area contains the property Connection color / number, the properties Connection cross-section / diameter, Unit for connection cross-section / diameter, and Remark will show automatically in the header. Properties with identical values will be summarized in one column.
If the individual connections are shown with a replacement character, the property Connection color / number will also show in the header.
In the project settings (Options > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Connections > Properties) the following default settings are set up for electrical connections:

The cable chart header shows the connection cross-section, the corresponding unit, and the remark. The data area displays the connection color. Connections V4, V5 and V6 are combined in one column, since the properties displayed for them in the header are identical. The first connection V1, is not displayed, since its properties are the same as the default values of the project.
If the individual connections are shown with a replacement character, the connection color will also show in the header of the cable chart. Now only the connections V5 and V6 are combined in one column. Connection V4 is shown in a separate column, since it has a different connection color.
