P001032: Switching jumper could not be closed correctly. <x>

Causes

If switching jumpers cannot be closed correctly, the following causes must be considered:

1. The jumper start does not have an external connection point.

A terminal on a terminal strip was defined as the start of a switching jumper. However, none of the function connection points of the terminal in the connection point logic is an external connection point. Consequently, no switching jumper is created.

2. The jumper start does not have an internal connection point.

A terminal on a terminal strip was defined as the start of a switching jumper. However, none of the function connection points of the terminal in the connection point logic is an internal connection point. Consequently, no switching jumper is created.

3. The switching jumper does not start at a saddle jumper connection point.

The function connection points of the terminal where the switching jumper starts are not saddle jumper connection points with respect to the connection point logic. Still, a switching jumper is created.

4. The jumper end does not exist

At the last terminal of a terminal strip, a closed switching jumper was defined in the Edit terminal strip dialog. Since the last terminal is not followed by an adjacent terminal, it is not possible to create a switching jumper, which also means there is no jumper end.

5. The jumper end does not have an external connection point.

A terminal on a terminal strip was defined as the end of a switching jumper. However, none of the function connection points of the terminal in the connection point logic is an external connection point. Consequently, no switching jumper is created.

6. The jumper end does not have an internal connection point.

A terminal on a terminal strip was defined as the "jumper end". However, none of the function connection points of the terminal in the connection point logic is an internal connection point. Consequently, no switching jumper is created.

7. The switching jumper does not end at a saddle jumper connection point.

The function connection points of the terminal where the switching jumper ends are not saddle jumper connection points with respect to the connection point logic. Still, a switching jumper is created.

Solutions

Locate firs for the respective cause the relevant terminal in the schematic using the Go to (graphic) function from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.

All other procedures are described below with respect to the different message options.

Re 1.: The jumper start does not have an external connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper start in the schematic.

  1. Select the menu item Properties from the popup menu.
  2. In the Properties <...> dialog of the terminal, bring the Symbol / function data tab to the front.
  3. Click [Logic], and set in the Connection point logic dialog the value of the Internal / External property to "External" at the required function connection point of the terminal.
  4. Close the Connection point logic dialog and the Properties <...> dialog using [OK], and update the connections.

Re 2.: The jumper start does not have an internal connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper start in the schematic.

  1. Select the menu item Properties from the popup menu.
  2. In the Properties <...> dialog of the terminal, bring the Symbol / function data tab to the front.
  3. Click [Logic], and set in the Connection point logic dialog the value of the Internal / External property to "Internal" at the required function connection point of the terminal.
  4. Close the Connection point logic dialog and the Properties <...> dialog using [OK], and update the connections.

Re 3.: The switching jumper does not start at a saddle jumper connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper start in the schematic.

  1. Select the menu item Properties from the popup menu.
  2. In the Properties <...> dialog of the terminal, bring the Symbol / function data tab to the front.
  3. Click [Logic], and set in the Connection point logic dialog the value of the Connection point type property to "Saddle jumper" for the internal or external function connection point of the terminal.
  4. Close the Connection point logic dialog and the Properties <...> dialog using [OK], and update the connections.

Re 4.: The jumper end does not exist.

Preconditions:

  1. You have located and highlighted the respective terminal in the schematic.
  2. You have extended the terminal to include the properties Switching jumper (internal) and Switching jumper (external).
  1. Select the menu item Properties from the popup menu.
  2. In the Properties <...> dialog of the terminal, bring the Terminal tab to the front.
  3. In the table of properties for the entries Switching jumper (internal) and / or Switching jumper (external), select the value "None".
  4. Close the dialog with [OK], and then update the connections.

Re 5.: The jumper end does not have an external connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper end in the schematic.

Re 6.: The jumper end does not have an internal connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper end in the schematic.

Re 7.: The switching jumper does not end at a saddle jumper connection point.

Precondition:

You have located and highlighted the respective terminal for the jumper end in the schematic.

Note:

This module-related message was output when updating connections. Using a new check run (any desired scheme) it can be deleted from the message management dialog.
