Fill patterns (or hatching) serve to graphically highlight closed areas and visually delimit elements from one another. With the new Fill pattern display property, it is now possible to assign a pattern to closed areas in the P&I diagram in Eplan.
Benefit:
Items, substances or areas in the P&I diagram can be identified more clearly by means of fill patterns. Fill patterns make complex drawings easier to read.
In order to define fill patterns for closed graphical elements (rectangles, polylines, arcs, etc.) on P&I diagram pages, the Fill display property is available in the property dialog of these graphical elements below the Format hierarchy level.
The following options are available on P&I diagram pages:
- No fill: No fill is displayed.
- Single-color fill: In the Single-color fill subordinate hierarchy level you can use an activation of the Deviating color display property and selection of a color in the associated Color display property to specify that the fill is displayed in a different color than the line.
- Fill pattern: In the Fill pattern subordinate hierarchy level you can select a predefined fill pattern and specify settings for it.
- Single-color fill with pattern: Both subordinate hierarchy levels, Single-color fill and Fill pattern, are displayed. This way, you can set a fill color and a pattern at the same time.
If one of the options with pattern is activated for the Fill display property, you can specify settings for a fill pattern in the Fill pattern subordinate hierarchy level. To this purpose, click [...] in the Assignment column for the Pattern display property, and select one of the predefined patterns in the subsequent Pattern selection dialog. You can specify further settings for the selected pattern in the two display settings, Scaling and Rotation.
Fill patterns can only be edited on P&I diagram pages.
