Improved readability of texts in tables

Table columns can now display more text at a time.

New area for translations

The Translations drop-down list for the following elements is now available in the working section:

• Macro Typicals
• Script Typicals
• Typical Groups
• Configurators

Within the drop-down list, you can manually enter translations for the displayed names of the elements or automatically import them from Eplan Electric P8. Further information is available here.

Improved dialog for adding Macro Typicals and Typical Groups

The dialog for adding Macro Typicals and Typical Groups to other Typical Groups or configurators has been improved. Macro Typicals and Typical Groups are now sorted alphabetically. In addition, you can filter by Macro Typicals and Typical Groups.

User-friendliness

The overview for the progress of the project generation now displays helpful additional information:

• Name of selected library
• Name of selected project
• Name of selected configurator

In the selection area, more actions are now available directly, e.g. duplicate or delete, and no longer have to be called up via the menu.

The button for synchronizing macros of a library with a macro project is now located in the selection area. You can recognize the button by the icon.

Error messages improved

The silent mode error messages have been improved.

• Dialogs and buttons have been given clearer names.
• Dialogs and tables are structured more clearly.
• The new structure of the selection area makes it easy to differentiate between the editing version and other versions of a library.
• Published library versions are marked with an icon.
• Library data is listed in a table. All tables have a search bar. Multiple selection of elements in tables is also possible.
• Helpful additional information is marked with an icon.
• Typicals, Typical Groups and configurators are marked with corresponding icons for better differentiation.
• Configuration variables, macros and scripts can be edited in the new working section. The working section opens as soon as one of these elements is selected for editing. All changes made in the new working section are saved automatically.

A search function is now available when you select libraries and projects.

New Menu for help and release notes

You now access the eBuild help and the release notes via the menu below the overview.

User-friendliness

The user interface of the Designer is improved and you can now test it by clicking the Try new Designer button.

The functional scope of the new Designer is limited during the test phase, but will be continuously expanded. Use the Back to old Designer button at any time to switch to the old user interface.

Automatic check of entered values

The automatic check of entered values has been improved. Floating-point numbers are processed correctly.

Improved messages during import

The messages for the import of XML and XLSX files have been improved. Warning messages can be displayed completely in a new dialog by clicking the Details button.

User-friendliness

The dialog for deleting a library has been improved.

Improved display of long error messages

Long error messages can now be displayed completely in an additional dialog by clicking the Read more button. When you close the dialog, the message is deleted.

Change color scheme

The color scheme of the user interface can now be changed in "My settings" in the Eplan Cloud. Further information is available here.

Working with cloud projects

If you open the Project Builder via a browser, you can generate the project documentation with cloud projects. Cloud projects are indicated by the icon in front of the project name.

If you open the Project Builder within the Eplan Platform, you can access cloud projects and local projects. Local projects are indicated by the icon in front of the project name.

Welcome tour of the Project Builder

A welcome tour of the Project Builder is now available. The welcome tour starts automatically when the Project Builder is opened for the first time and helps you during the first steps.

User-friendliness

The user interface of the Project Builder has been improved.

• New navigation elements are available. An overview now enables you to follow the individual steps during the generation of the project documentation. You can switch between the steps by using the buttons in the footer.
• Additional information is marked with an icon.
• Switching between different versions of a library has been simplified.
• The versions of a library are uniquely marked as published or unpublished.
• Dialogs and tables are structured more clearly.
• Local projects are marked with an icon in front of the project name.
• Cloud projects are marked with an icon in front of the project name.

Personal access token

To identify yourself to the software you require a personal access token (Personal Access Token, PAT). You can now add personal access tokens in the Eplan Cloud in My settings. Further information is available here.

In single-line input fields for formulas, line breaks are now marked by a new icon.

Select a name for configuration variables

You can now freely select the names of configuration variables without restrictions.

Log usage of libraries

You now have the possibility to log the usage of your libraries. You can, for example, report which configurator and which configuration variables were selected in the Project Builder and whether errors occurred during the generation.

Solved: The project documentation could not be generated if the total size of the macros of a configurator exceeded 128 MB.

Advanced import options

You can now specify values for Typical worksheet identifier, Starting row and Starting column when you generate the project documentation from an *.xlsx file.

Improved error message

The Designer now displays an error message if a translation attempt fails.

Modified role name

The "eBuild Project Builder" role has been renamed to "User".

Advanced import options

The Advanced Excel Import Feature add-on can now also be used in eBuild. Once the add-on has successfully been installed in the Eplan Platform, the Generate from file button appears in the Project Builder.

Insert line breaks

The mandatory line breaks known from the Eplan Platform can now also be inserted in eBuild.

Project templates and project creation

Only basic projects with the file type *.zw9 are allowed when creating new projects. Older project templates with the file type *.ept have been removed.

Modified descriptions of structure identifiers

In compliance with applicable standards, certain structure identifiers have been harmonized with the Eplan Platform 2022 and adopted for eBuild.

Import file type *.cla

Importing *.cla files is no longer possible.

Launch eBuild

You can now start Designer and Project Builder directly from the Eplan Platform 2022 ribbon under the ePULSE tab.

Language selection

You can now add or remove languages supported by the Eplan Platform to a library at any time. Content is not lost when a language is removed and can be reused later.

Import and export versions

You can now import and export libraries with versions.

Delete versions

You can now delete versions of a library.

Withdraw publication of a version

You can now withdraw the publication of a version.

Moving configuration variables

You can now move several configuration variables simultaneously.

New languages available

eBuild now also supports Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. The language settings are linked with the user settings in the Eplan Platform.

Improved error messages

Error messages now contain more detailed information about occurring problems.

Logo change

The Eplan logo in the header has been replaced by the eBuild logo. If you click the eBuild logo, you will no longer be directed to the ePULSE dashboard, but to the eBuild project overview.

Call up notifications

Access your notifications by clicking the bell icon in the eBuild header.

Multiple selection

You now select, duplicate or remove multiple elements at the same time. This makes it, for example, possible to reuse configuration variables at the push of a button with all defined display names and visibility rules in other sections or libraries.

Script Typicals

The modeling capabilities in the libraries have been expanded with the Script Typicals element type. Script Typicals allow scripts to be executed within the Eplan Platform.

To provide the optimum start eBuild Free includes a new 3.-GEN-eBuild-Script-Examples_en-US_mm library, from which you can obtain frequently required scripts free of charge for further implementation in your own libraries.

Start the defined Script Typicals during the generation of the schematic documentation.

XLSX import and XLSX export

For the import and export of configurations you can now use *.xlsx files as the exchange format.

Fixed: During longer generation processes, an abort occurred when the time was exceeded.

XML import and XML export

In the Project Builder you can now run an XML import or XML export via a new button.

Improvement of error messages

The readability of error messages has been improved through the modification of the run length of the error message. You also have to confirm the error messages with a click so that they are hidden again.

Extended functional scope in the header

As soon as you click your profile in the header, further functions are now available for the management of your personal area and for navigation. Manage you organizations with this, edit your profile under Settings, read your notifications or jump directly into an application.

Fixed: While values were being typed, these were checked for the variable type during the entry of each individual character and an error message was displayed, if appropriate.

Identification of inherited values

Inherited values of a configuration variable are not only marked in a different color but also in italics.

The list of libraries now contains the icon. As soon as you click the icon, you can download the library (*.ela) or the macro project (*.zw1).

Fixed: After the import of an XML configuration the parameters were not shown correctly.

Improved header

You can now jump to the Dashboard view of ePULSE, switch between organizations and navigate via a Breadcrumb menu into the Project Builder. The representation of translations, notifications and messages has also been improved graphically as well as textually.

Release notes

Release notes and information about new functions are now available to you in the Designer in the navigation bar under Release Notes.

Fixed: As soon as you have used the special characters in your XML configuration, an error message was shown during the import.

Roles and rights

Roles for the Project Builder were defined in the user management of ePULSE. With the "Designer" role, libraries can be tested in the Project Builder without having to be published in the Designer. Further information is available here.
