Roles
Every user in an organization who wants to access an Eplan Cloud product requires a role for this product. A user can only have one role for the product in the context of an organization. The role can only be assigned by the main administrator of an organization or by a user who has been assigned the "Manage" role in the user management by the main administrator. By assigning a role to the user, an Eplan license is also assigned to the user at the same time.
Further information on the topic of "Roles in the Eplan Cloud" is available here.

Licenses
Every user in an organization who wants to access an Eplan Cloud product requires a role for this product. By assigning a role to the user by the main administrator or a user with access to user management, they also assign an Eplan license to the user at the same time. Three licenses are available to you in the company organization:
"Single License"
You have purchased the "Single License" license type for individual Eplan Cloud products. Depending on the number of licenses purchased, you can assign these licenses to the users in user management.
Example
If you have purchased five Single Licenses, you can assign these five licenses to five users through a role in the user management.
"Concurrent License"
You have purchased the "Concurrent License" for an Eplan Cloud product. Regardless of the number of licenses purchased, you can assign these licenses to a higher number of users. However, the Eplan Cloud product can only be used simultaneously by as many users as there are licenses purchased.
Example
You have purchased five Concurrent Licenses for an Eplan Cloud product and assigned these licenses to ten users through a role in the user management. If five users are already working simultaneously with the Eplan Cloud product, no other user can work with the Eplan Cloud product because all licenses are used. Only when a user ends working with the Eplan Cloud product does a license become available and another user can use the Eplan Cloud product.
Free
Eplan makes these products available to you free of charge. You can assign any number of licenses for these Eplan Cloud products to the users of your organization.
Teams
Teams are available to you in the user management of a company organization if you have purchased your licenses with the subscription model.
By creating teams, you can directly assign roles and licenses in the user management to a specific group of users. Teams can also be used in eManage and eView. For more information, refer to the eManage help or the eView help.
Role templates
Role templates are available to you in the user management of a company organization if you have purchased your licenses with the subscription model. In the role templates, you can only assign roles and licenses to Eplan Cloud products whose license type is "Free" or "Concurrent License".
By creating role templates, you can assign roles and licenses directly to one or more teams in the user management. If you change a role template that is already assigned to a team, the roles are assigned to the team members in accordance with the new specifications of the role template. If you remove a user from a team, the roles that they have been assigned via the team and its role template are removed from the user. If a user is a member of multiple teams, the user always retains the role with the largest functional scope. If a user is a member of a team with an assigned role template, a previously made manual change is overwritten when the role template is changed or the role template is replaced.
Default role template
In the default role template you can specify which roles new users receive for individual applications when they join the company organization. If you make a change to the default role template, this has no effect on users who are already in the company organization. The default role template only affects users who are not in the company organization yet and who are new members.
You can change any role template to the default role template for new users. In addition, you can disable the default role template for new users at any time.
