The EPLAN Harness proD Studio workspace environment serves the 3D modeling of wire harnesses. The 3D model can then be used as a source for outputs such as nailboards, cable drawings, and reports.
The workspace environment consists of a navigation panel, a working window, a properties panel, the Tasks list, and the corresponding menus and toolbars.
Navigation panel
It is displayed in the left-hand side bar (default) and contains the following tabs:
- Panel General info
- Panel Properties
- Panel Tree view
- Panel Placement history
- Panel Bookmarks
- Panel Global search.
Working window
This is the place where wire harnesses are designed. It is situated in the center of the EPLAN Harness proD Studio screen (default) just below the tab of the currently opened library item.
To pan, zoom and rotate objects and views within the 3D working window it is possible to use a 3D mouse such as SpaceTraveler, SpacePilot, SpacePilot PRO, or SpaceExplorer.
Navigation cube
Clicking the navigation cube located in the top right corner sets the view to the closest orientation to the chosen view.
Holding [Shift] while clicking the navigation cube sets the standard orientation of the chosen view instead.
Clicking the home button sets the view defined in Workspace / Workdesk settings - Navigation cube home button view.
A user-defined home view can be saved by clicking [Shift] + the home icon next to navigation cube.
Rotation controls
Clicking the arrows located in the top right corner rotates the view 90-degrees clockwise or counterclockwise.
Search field
The Search field in the upper right-hand corner of the application serves to easily find any command or select items containing the entered string within their part number or properties.
Properties panel
It is displayed in the right-hand side bar (default) and shows the properties of the currently selected objects. These can be edited to better suit your needs.
