Creating an IFC Export Scheme

You can create customer-specific export schemes for the export of data in the open IFC data standard. Different versions of the IFC data standard as well as customer-specific IFC property sets that are, for example, supplied to you by a BIM manager are supported.

Open the Settings: IFC export dialog (command path: File > Settings > User > Interfaces > IFC export).
Select an export scheme suitable for the desired IFC version in the Scheme field.

Note:

A default scheme is available for each supported IFC version. You can use and customize the default scheme or create a new scheme based on a default scheme. To do so, click (New) or (Copy), select a scheme from the displayed dialog and enter a name for your new scheme.

You should not change the IFC version preset in a scheme since the IFC objects and IFC properties already defined in the assignment tables do not adapt automatically to the changed IFC version. Instead, select a different scheme, or create a new scheme with the desired IFC version and new properties.

In the Output directory field, enter the storage location of the export file to be generated, or use the button to open the dialog Select folder to select any desired directory for the export.
In the Generate file names field, select how the name of the export file is to be formed.
In the Generate subdirectories field, specify how subdirectories should be generated.
Use the Degree of detailing slider to specify the degree of detailing for a 3D model to be exported.
In the IFC object tab specify which objects and items are to be exported from a layout space.

Note:

Enclosures are exported with graphic and properties. Only properties can be exported for further items.

Click [...] in the Eplan filter column and create a filter. You can select function definitions, functions or parts as the filter criterion. The default scheme already contains a filter with the "Enclosure" function definition. All enclosures of a layout space are exported with this filter. You can create further filters for, for example, enclosure items.
In the IFC object column, select the corresponding IFC object for each filter.
Switch to the IFC properties tab to specify which properties are to be exported for an IFC object.
Click [...] in the Eplan property column and select one Eplan property per row for the IFC object. You can select properties for 3D functions or parts.
In the IFC property set column, select one IFC property set per row that you would like to use.
In the IFC property column, select an IFC property from the selected IFC property set that you would like to assign to the respective Eplan property.

Note:

You can import customer-specific IFC property sets to add them to the scheme. To do this, click (Import) in the toolbar to import an Excel or CSV file.

The import file must contain three columns with the following information:

Name of the customer-specific IFC property set
Name of customer-specific IFC property
Unit for the property (for example m for meter) or an IFC-value type

The BIM Manager usually provides the information to you.

Click [OK].
