Dialog call:You have opened a project. You have selected the Format tab for a device, a 3D part placement, a graphical element or a text in the associated property dialog (Tab Format (device), Tab Format (part placement 3D), Tab Format (texts), Dialog "Properties (<Graphical element>)" / Tab "Format" (comments)). Or you have opened a dialog in which you can edit the display properties of placed properties (Display properties: Placed property).
You have clicked [...] for the Layer property in the Assignment column.
In this dialog you can assign a different layer to an object and thus influence the properties for the display such as line thickness, line type, color, font size, etc. as well as the visibility of the object in the printout and in the graphical editor.
The displayed properties of the layers cannot be changed here. Use the layer management to edit the properties of the layers or to create your own layers.
Overview of the main dialog elements:
Enter the text that is to be found into this field and confirm with [Enter]. In the tree view of the layers, only those entries are then displayed that contain the searched text in the layer name or in the layer description.
In the tree view, the layers are displayed in a hierarchical structure. This structure is formed from the layer descriptions.
If you select one or more layers or nodes in a tree, the display of the layers is filtered accordingly in the table.
All layers selected in the tree are displayed in the table. To sort the layers either ascending or descending, double-click each column header. The columns contained in the table can be set via the Configure representation popup menu item.
Note:
The configuration of the representation for the table columns corresponds to the configuration in the Layer management - <Project name> dialog and is used identically in both dialogs. If you change the configuration here, this also affects the display in the layer management and vice versa.
The current layer of the object is preset when the layer selection is opened. To assign a different layer to the object, select the desired layer in the table and click [OK].
Popup menu:
The popup menu provides - depending on the field type (e.g. date, integer, multilingual) - the following menu items that are, depending on the situation, available for influencing the table or editing the values in the fields. You can find an overview of these popup menu items in the section Popup menu items.
