In the parts management you now have the possibility to define a write protection for the user interface for individual default properties. A write protection can, for example, make sense for the ERP / PDM numbers properties if these are maintained by means of a PDM system.
Benefit:
You retain full control over your parts data by means of the new write protection for properties. Critical properties are protected against unintentional modifications. This is how you ensure high data quality, avoid errors in everyday work and ensure reliable information for all downstream processes.
To this purpose, the new Configure write protection for properties menu item is available in the Parts management dialog below the [Extras] button. In the Configure write protection dialog that is then opened, select the properties for which a write protection is to apply. In addition, the import and export of configurations for the write protection in the XML format is possible via the known buttons.
Properties for which a write protection exists cannot be changed in the user interface and via external editing. However, such properties can still be changed via an export and import in EDZ or XML format or via the Eplan API.
The values of write-protected properties are "grayed out" in the user interface. If you move the cursor over such a value, the "Configured read-only" tooltip is displayed.
Extensions in the rights management
To control access to the Configure write protection dialog, the new right "Configure property write protection" is now available in the rights management in the Rights field below the "Parts management" topic area. The previous "Configure properties" right has been renamed to "Configure user-defined properties" in order to make the delimitation to the new write protection right clearer.
