You can now customize the insert center more individually by means of specific settings. These settings are saved as a scheme and can be selected above the Find field in a new drop-down list.
Benefit:
The new settings for customizing the insert center allow you to customize the insert center according to your requirements. The quantity of objects displayed in the insert center is reduced to a useful, meaningful quantity. This reduces the complexity, saves time during the search and makes the work in the insert center significantly more efficient.
With the [...] button next to the drop-down list for the schemes you can branch to the new subsequent dialog Customize insert center. Here you can use a scheme to specify which object type is to be displayed, configure the search for the insert center, and limit the objects displayed in the insert center depending on the page type.
The settings for customizing the insert center are carried out for the respective object types in the separate Symbols, Devices and Window macros / symbol macros tabs. A scheme with default settings is provided by Eplan. This scheme also contains predefined filters for the page types and a configuration for the search.
Displaying objects of an object type
The objects of all object types are displayed by default. With the new Show symbols, Display devices and Display macros settings you can specify whether the objects of the respective object type are displayed in the insert center.
If the corresponding check box is deactivated, the objects of the respective object type are not displayed in the insert center. This applies to all folders such as Favorites, Tags and also to the Recent folder. In this case, you cannot make any further settings in the tab.
This has no effect on the search. Here, the objects of an object type that is not displayed are nevertheless displayed as matches.
Configure search
The configuration of the search for the insert center is now no longer located next to the search field but has also been integrated into the Customize insert center dialog.
By default, the search does not take place across all properties. Accordingly, the Customize insert center check box is activated in the new Configure search group box. In this case, the search is carried out across the properties that were specified during the configuration of the search. The properties configured for the respective object type are displayed in the field next to the check box.
Click [...] to open the Configure search dialog. There, you can specify the properties and sequence in which the search is to be carried out. To this purpose, different properties are available for each object type (for example Symbol description, Part number, Macro: file name).
If the Customize insert center check box is deactivated, the search is carried out across all properties of the respective object type. In this case, the search can take some time.
Defining page type-specific filters for object types
In order to reduce the displayed quantity of objects in the insert center to a useful, meaningful quantity, you can define different filters for the different page types in the Customize insert center dialog. To this purpose, a table, such as Symbol filter based on page type, is available with filters for the respective object type on each tab. A scheme for customizing the insert center that also contains predefined filters is provided by Eplan.
The filters set for different page types are displayed in the respective table.
- Page type: This column lists the page types (schematic multi-line, schematic single-line, fluid power schematic, etc.) for which filters can be defined.
- Filter: This column shows you whether a filter has been defined for a page type. By means of [...], you can branch to the Filter dialog and create or edit a filter for a page type there.
Depending on the object type, different properties are available as filter criteria (for symbols, for example, the Symbol library property; for macros, for example, the Macro: Representation type property).
Filtering by tags
For symbols and devices, the new Tags property can be used as a filter criterion (symbols: Tags (ID 16046), devices: Tags (ID 22891)). For window macros / symbol macros, the new Macro: Tags property (ID 23026) can be used as a filter criterion. This allows the respective object types to be filtered by assigned tags.
Hiding macros used in devices
For window and symbol macros, you can use the new Macro is referenced by a part property (ID 23025) as a filter criterion. This way, all macros that are used in the devices and that are therefore already displayed in the Devices folder are filtered out for the Window macros / symbol macros folder.
Hide Eplan Data Portal in the insert center
You also have the possibility to hide the 
"Data Portal" icon in the insert center. To this purpose, the Display Data Portal node check box is available on the Devices tab of the Customize insert center dialog. This check box is selected by default. You have to deactivate the setting so that the "Data Portal" icon is hidden.
