When exchanging macro variants, the functions to be exchanged in a macro variant are determined by default on the basis of the function definitions or on the basis of the graphical position in the macro variant. In the macros for P&I diagram pages, however, several similar objects with the same function or segment definitions are often available in the macro variants (for example valves, PCT loops, etc.). This makes their identification more difficult.
The Macro ID property is available in the respective property dialog of these objects for a better identification of functions and placed planning objects on P&I diagram pages (functions: ID 20670, segments: ID 44097). Identify the PCT loops and functions in the macro variants with a unique macro ID. This way, the device tags, designations and the assignment to the segments in the pre-planning for the functions and PCT loops existing in the variants are retained during the exchange.
The exchange of macro variants by means of the macro ID does not only work on P&I diagram pages, but also on other page types with macro variants in the corresponding representation types.
The macro ID is also taken into consideration when creating the detailed planning from macros. This way, functions in the macro can be assigned better to the functions and templates at the planning object. When exchanging macro variants on P&I diagram pages it is possible that the selected macro variant contains more or fewer segments than the original variant. This can result in the creation of new segments or the removal of existing ones:
- If new segments are added by the selected macro variant, the Select structure dialog is opened. Here, you can integrate the newly added segments into the structure of the pre-planning.
- If segments become superfluous due to the selected macro variant, and as a result placements of planning objects (PCT loops) are removed, the Delete planning objects dialog is opened. In this dialog, the affected planning objects with their further placements and subordinate segments are displayed in a tree structure. You can decide here whether you want to delete these planning objects. If this is the case, the further placements and subordinate segments are also deleted.
