Project Builder: Basics

In the Project BuilderThe project-specific configuration and the automatic generation of the project documentation takes place in the Project Builder on the basis of the configurators and sets of rules defined in the Designer. you configure the configurators that were defined in the DesignerConfigurators and sets of rules are defined on the basis of EPLAN macros in Designer. These form the basis for the configuration and the automatic generation of the project documentation.. Depending on the configurator and the set of rules on which it based you generate the project documentation for different product variants in just a few steps.

Configuration of a configurator is carried out in three steps:

  1. First you specify the target project. As the target project you can use all the projects that are currently opened in the EPLAN platform.
  2. Second you select the configurator that you want to use to generate the project documentation.
  3. Subsequently you configure the Macro-Typicals or Typical-Groups that exist in the ConfiguratorYou define sets of rules in a configurator. On the basis of these sets of rules the engineer configures the project documentation in accordance with their individual requirements in the Project Builder.. In this context you always have to configure elements that you require for the desired product variants. By this means you generate the project documentation piece-by-piece.

After you have configured all the macro types and have generated the corresponding parts of the project, you can view the complete project documentation in the EPLAN platform. If necessary, you can then edit the project documentation as usual.
