Silent mode

You can generate a project documentation in the Project Builder from the command line. Then an interaction with the user interface of the Project Builder isn't necessary anymore.

For this purpose start your EPLAN Platform from the command line. By specifying arguments you define which elements should be used to generate the project documentation.

Performance improvement: When generating a project documentation some elements are generated and overwritten multiple times. Therefore the process is slowed down.

• Before an element is generated the software checks if the element already exists. This way all elements are generated only once. The process is speeded up.

Fixed: If the window, the Cogineer Designer is executed in, is very narrow, the Buttons Save and Close of the dialog Extended Formula Input are not displayed.

• For the dialog Extended Formula Input a minimum width is defined. This way the Buttons are allways displayed. If the dialog is not completely visible, please expand the window the Cogineer Designer is executed in.

Fixed: Adding corrupted macros to a Macro-Typical leads to a crash of the EPLAN Platform.

• If you add a corrupted macro to a Macro-Typical you will get an appropriate error message. The EPLAN Platform doesn't crash.

Fixed: The input fields in the dialog Multilingual input are aligned differently.

• All input fields are aligned correctly.

Fixed: Some labels in the graphical user interface and some error messages are not translated.

• All labels and error messages are translated.

Fixed: If you don't enter a value for the Display name of a configuration variable, you get a message that the Macro-Typical or Typical-Group is a duplicate.

• You get a message that you have to enter a Display name in at least one language.

Translation

Some of the features of the dictionary in the EPLAN Platform are now directly available in EPLAN Cogineer Cloud. Open the dialog Translation services by clicking the button at the bottom of the sidebar. There the following features are available:

• Translate all translatable content in your library on the basis of the EPLAN dictionary
• Export missing words list
• Remove all translations for a specific language

Copying configuration variables

You can copy configuration variables from a macro-typical to a typical-group, if the macro-typical is part of the typical-group. Until now only the configuration variable itself and the list of predefined values were copied. Now the Display name and the status Mandatory are copied, too.

Fixed: In the Extended formula input dialog a formula is displayed that is not up-to-date in some cases. An older formula is displayed instead.

• The correct formula is displayed allways.

Fixed: For macro projects that are not saved in the default directory for projects in the EPLAN Platform, the synchronization between the macro project and the library in the EPLAN Cloud doesn't work.

• When the synchronization is started, it is checked first whether the project is open in the EPLAN Platform. Only if the project is not open, it is checked whether the project is available in the default directory for projects.

Fixed: For macro projects whose name contains a dot, the synchronization between the macro project and the library in the EPLAN Cloud doesn't work properly.

• The synchronization between the macro project and the library works properly, even though the name of the macro project contains a dot.

Extension of the formula editor

For formulas that control the status of a macro and formulas that control the Visibility of configuration variables you now have an additional possibility to edit them in the formula editor. The elements that can be used for creating a formula are displayed in lists. You select the required elements in the lists and define the relation between them. The resulting formula is generated automatically. To enter a formula manually is not required then.

XML export

For all elements of a configurator, the export as XML file is now possible. To do so, open the Configurators tab. In the list of elements, the button is available for each element to start the export.

The XML file contains all configuration variables, though without their respective values. The file displays name, type, and, if available, pre-defined values of the configuration variables as comments. Specify the values for the configuration variables to use the file for a configuration in Project Builder.

XML import

Instead of manually carrying out a configuration you can also import it from an XML file. In order for the XML file to be imported it must have a certain structure.

Working with instances

The usage of instances allows for defining functions of your product which may occur more than once within a Typical-Group. When defining Typical-Groups, you have the possibility to allow for the generation of several instances of an element of the Typical-Group. The engineer in Project Builder will then have the possibility to flexibly enhance the functional scope of your products.

Formula editor

All places where you can work with formulas have the button. Klicking this button will open a formula editor for the respective input field. The formula editor offers a multitude of additional editing options:

• Multi-line input with a better overview
• Auto-complete
• Color highlighting of certain elements
• Search and replace

Adding macros on a certain position to Macro-Typicals

For all components of a Macro-Typical, the button is available. Click it so that the macros you have selected in the Macro navigator of the EPLAN Platform are added below the element. All subsequent elements are moved downwards correspondingly.

• Clicking the button at the lower end of the page bar in Designer.

Improved performance: The Typical.xml configuration file contains all instructions which are required for the generation of a project documentation. Macros which are part of a configuration, but are not needed due to a configuration in Project Builder, were all entered individually in the configuration file. Now they are only entered once. Thus the configuration file can be processed more quickly and the project documentation be generated much faster.

Fixed: The pre-defined type of a configuration variable is not available any more after a switch between the Macro-Typicals, Typical-Groups and Configurators tabs.

• Now, the pre-defined type is preserved.

Fixed: Since EPLAN Platform Version 2.8 you have the option to determine in the project-specific settings whether a macro is to be inserted with or without macro box. This did not have any effect in EPLAN Cogineer Cloud.

• Now, this setting is also taken into account when generating the project documentation in EPLAN Cogineer Cloud.

Fixed: The error message 'The configuration variable "xxx" cannot be deleted because it is still referenced.' was displayed even if there are no more references.

• Now, the error message is only displayed if there are, indeed, references.

Fixed: The reordering of configuration variables by using the button doesn't work properly, when the input field Visibility of the configuraton variable is shown.

• The reordering of configuration variables works as expected.

Fixed: The autocomplete functionality for formulas is activated, when the view of a macro is expanded.

• The autocomplete functionality for formulas is activated, when you enter a formula in an input field.
