Configuring configurators

Preconditions

• You have opened the library that contains the macros, Macro-Typicals and configurators that you want to configure.
• You have called up the Project BuilderThe project-specific configuration and the automatic generation of the project documentation takes place in the Project Builder on the basis of the configurators and sets of rules defined in the Designer. dialog.
• You have created a project that you want to use as the target project.

Procedure

1. Enter the complete name of the target project or select it from the drop-down list. All the projects that are opened in the page navigator of the EPLAN platform are displayed in the drop-down list.
2. All the available configurators are listed in the under the input field.

2. Select the configurator that you want to configure.
3. The name of the configurator is displayed as the header.
4. All the Macro-TypicalA Macro-Typical is an organization structure that contains information about the structure and the usage of the macros that are needed in the project. Each Macro-Typical maps a part of the machine / plant that is to be configured. that exist in the configurator are listed under it.

3. Select the Macro-Typical that you wish to configure.
4. All the available configuration variables and all the available variables of each macro variant which the Macro-Typical contains are displayed.

Depending on how the variables of the configurator were defined in the DesignerConfigurators and sets of rules are defined on the basis of EPLAN macros in Designer. These form the basis for the configuration and the automatic generation of the project documentation., you have different options:

4. Enter values for the configuration variables.
5. The values of the referenced macro variables are replaced by the values of the configuration variables during the generation of the project documentation.

5. Specify whether macros are to be considered when the project documentation is generated. To this purpose activate or deactivate the Active check box under the name of the corresponding macro.
6. All the macros at which you have activated the check box are considered during generation.

6. Enter the desired structure identifiers for the macros.
7. After the project documentation has been generated, the structure identifiers are available in the page navigator of the EPLAN platform.

7. Click the Generate configuration button.
8. Repeat Steps 3 - 7 for all the Macro-Typicals that you require for the product variant that you want to configure.
