Release notes

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 118.6.80. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN Cogineer, etc.).

If a PDF was generated for a project via automated processing and the Update reports when printing and exporting check box was activated in the user settings, the layout space in the project was not exported. This has been corrected. The layout space is now always exported. This corresponds to the behavior during the general PDF export via the Backstage view.

If an NC outline record for the machine "Rittal - Perforex BC / Secarex" was generated from an NC outline and the default settings were used in the process, it was possible that an incorrect NC record was generated under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

When updating the macro collection for the Insert center some macros were not included in the macro collection. This affected macros with macro boxes for which the value "0" was set for the width or height. This has been corrected.

User-defined shortcut keys for the commands of the ribbon can now also be imported again by means of the action XSettingsImport.

When inserting a page macro with pre-planning structures, the symbolic addresses were not transferred correctly from the associated PCT loops to the PLC connection points under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If several parts were selected in the tree or list view of the parts management or several function templates were selected in the Function templates tab and if further function templates, accessories or drilling patterns were added in one of the tabs Function templates, Accessories or Manufacturing via the button (New), it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

During the import of pre-planning data from an Excel file, the filter set in the file was not taken into consideration and all the values were imported. This has been corrected.

If you have selected a device in the Insert center and if at the same time a page of the type "Panel layout" is opened, the device is now displayed again in the graphical preview.

If an assembly was only broken up in the reports, it was possible that twice the number was output for the individual, broken up parts in the reports (for example parts list). This has been corrected.

During the output of labeling data for the report type "Parts list" a filter for the exclusion of mounting rails and wire ducts only functioned if the export was applied to the entire project. This has been corrected.

If a different value was entered in the property dialog in the Parts tab for an assigned part in the Part variant column without this value being applied, it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If 3D objects were activated for displaying or hiding in the list of the dialog Show / hide 3D objects for model views, this could take a certain amount of time. Displaying or hiding 3D objects via the list now takes place faster.

During the import of projects from EPLAN Version 2.7 (or older), it was possible that all objects of the inner macro box were assigned to the outer macro box at nested macro boxes with manual object assignment. This was the case for objects that were manually assigned to an outer macro box but were located graphically in an inner macro box. This has been corrected. The conversion of old projects with macro boxes has been optimized.

The menu item Update selection list is available in the popup menu in order, for example, to remove unused entries from the selection list for the macro names in the dialog Property: Schematic macros for company standard of the parts management. However, the command did not function correctly. This has been corrected.

Accuracy problems during the definition of mounting surfaces resulted, under certain conditions, in nothing being placed on a mounting surface. This has been corrected.

If you want to edit page names in the dialog Generate PLC schematic, you can use the button [...] to open a selection dialog in the corresponding table cell. After closing the selection dialog, the changed page names in the dialog Generate PLC schematic were only displayed after you had updated the view via the key [F5]. This has been corrected.

The program 7-zip has been updated.

During the placement of accessory parts in the layout space an incorrect placement of the accessory could occur. This has been corrected.

If user-defined rails on a mounting panel were deleted in an opened layout space, this could result in placeholder objects that were arranged in the layout space navigator below the mounting panel also being deleted. This has been corrected.

If a parts database from Version 2023 was set for the parts management in Version 2024, it was possible that the parts database was not updated despite confirmation of the prompt for updating the parts database. This has been corrected.

When generating window macros from macro projects it was possible that user-defined properties for pages were also stored at the window macros. If these window macros were then inserted as page macros, these user-defined properties were transferred to the new pages. This has been corrected. User-defined properties for pages are now removed when window macros are generated.

If a branch was made to the part selection in the Assembly tab of the parts management in the Part number column via the button [...] and the part selection was canceled, the respective cell in the Part number column was subsequently grayed out. The part selection could not be started in this case anymore. This has been corrected.

Several opened projects marked in the page navigator can now be closed again simultaneously by using the button Close project in the quick access toolbar.

If the setting Display identifying numbers was activated, problems could occur during the creation of macros under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

In the tree view of the page navigator, double-clicking a page could, under certain conditions, cause the cursor to jump to the end in the tree view. This has been corrected.

At a routing path in the layout space, the full DT can now also be displayed again, for example, by means of a property arrangement.

The selection of a value for the property Product grouping in the parts management can now be confirmed again with the [Enter] key.

If user-defined properties were also located in the data for external editing, the data modified in the external editing could not be imported into EPLAN again. This has been corrected.

If structure boxes or PLC boxes with interrupted line types were placed next to each other in such a way that the lines overlapped, these lines were displayed as solid lines. This has been corrected.

If user-defined properties with self-extending selection lists were defined, these properties behaved differently for the project and for the parts. This has been corrected. New values for the selection lists are now always sorted alphanumerically and inserted after the predefined values. In addition such selection lists have been extended with an empty entry. This way an entered value can also be deleted in the selection mode.

While importing parts into the parts management by means of the ImportParts method from the MDPartsManagement class, it was possible that the import was canceled with an unexpected error message. This has been corrected.

During the transfer of parts data by means of the action XPamArticlesSyncAction from a current parts database into an old parts database of Version 2.9, it was possible in multi-user operation that deleted records (for example connection point patterns) in the parts database to be synchronized were not removed. This has been corrected. All parts data are now synchronized with the new parameter /full:1. The parts data that were deleted in the source database are also deleted in the target database.

If the length of a length-variable item was modified by using the Change length command, it was possible under certain conditions that the item was no longer displayed. The item was only visible again after the view was updated via [F5]. This has been corrected.

If block attributes were located in a layout view window in a DXF file, the block attributes were lost during the import in the past. As a result it was possible that certain graphical elements such as item numbers did not exist after the import. This has been corrected.

If automatically generated threaded holes of items were partially hidden, the centers of these holes were not captured correctly when carrying out a measurement. This has been corrected.

In projects in which many user-defined properties and block properties are used, the opening of the Backstage view took a relatively long time. This now takes place faster.

During the transfer of parts data from a new parts database of Version 2023 into an old parts database of Version 2.9 (or older) by means of the action XPamArticlesSyncAction this action could be aborted under specific conditions. This has been corrected. In such a case an error message with the cause of the problem is now displayed and the synchronization is continued.

After an XML import of parts data from Version 2.9, the Technical characteristics property in the Properties tab was write-protected for mechanical parts and could not be changed. This has been corrected.

If the property Part number in module (ID 22966) or Part number in assembly (ID 22967) was used as a filter criterion, for example in the filter of the parts management, it was not possible to determine the parts that are used in a module or assembly with this filter. This has been corrected.

If a text with activated setting Do not translate automatically was placed on a schematic page and subsequently changed manually via direct editing, this text was translated erroneously. This has been corrected.

If the "Generate and / or update macro collection" right was deactivated for the Insert center in the rights management, copying into the Clipboard was no longer possible in the graphical editor. This has been corrected.

If a routing range in the layout space was to be moved on the Z axis via the dialog Placement options, this was not possible. The Offset Z field was grayed out and the value in this field could not be changed. This has been corrected.

If several part properties were accessed rapidly one after the other by means of the Properties property from the class MDPart, it was possible that an exception was output. This has been corrected.

The new field type "Date" has been added to the user-defined properties for projects and for the parts management. In the course of these modifications the drop-down list Input aid has been renamed to Display type. In this drop-down list the two options "Date" or "Date and time" are available for the field type "Date".

Deleting User-Defined Properties of Stored Parts

In the dialog Delete stored part properties you have the possibility to delete selected properties of parts stored in the project. User-defined properties were previously not taken into consideration. Now user-defined properties of stored parts can also be deleted. To do this, create a new scheme in the dialog Delete stored part properties. Add the desired user-defined properties to the scheme that are to be deleted later from the project.

Extensions for Calculation Properties

In EPLAN it was already possible to create calculation formulas for project data (for example in the form and plot frame editor as well as during the export of manufacturing data or labeling). The calculation properties defined in this way can be output in reports or in files. Now the possibility to create calculation formulas is also available at many further points in the project:

Further New Features for Block Properties

The following extensions have been made for the block properties:
- During the selection of format elements the possible actions (navigation and/or property selection) are now displayed through an icon.
- In addition the values of properties or calculations are displayed for selected format elements in the new Preview column.
- You can now define local replacement texts in the block format of a block property.
- You can also have the replacement tables from the project or form displayed here.
- In the project property Block property: Replacement text you can now define up to 100 tables for replacement texts.
- All translation languages can now be selected in the language settings for the block properties.
- In macro projects the values of block properties can now also be displayed in the navigators.

External Programs in the Ribbon

Previously the dialog External programs was available to integrate external programs in EPLAN that can be called up from EPLAN. The programs integrated in this way were displayed in the ribbon in the Extensions tab in the command group External programs. This tab was generated automatically and could not be edited via the Customize ribbon command. This behavior has been changed. External programs can now be inserted as commands by means of a new action when customizing the ribbon.

New popup menu item "Assign" in the Insert center

In the dialog Insert center the new popup menu item Assign is now available in the table of the information area. This popup menu item is only available for devices and allows you to assign a part marked in the table to a specific function in the schematic.

With "Go to (graphic)" open the page in a new window

To navigate from a marked object in the navigator to the placement in the schematic, you can use the popup menu item Go to (graphic) in the navigators. If you simultaneously press the [Shift] key while executing the popup menu item, a new window of the graphical editor now opens.

This functionality is available in all navigators from which you can open a page (including the search results list, message management and Edit in table view). In the connections navigator this also functions for the popup menu items Go to (graphic, source) and Go to (graphic, target).

Calling up the eLearning modules in the standard browser

In the past the eLearning modules were displayed in an internal browser window of the Platform. Now the eLearning modules are displayed in the Internet browser set as the default on your computer. The language is selected on the basis of the user interface language set in EPLAN. In the course of this modification the command Tutorials has been renamed to eLearning. (The command path is: File > Help > Command group Support > Contents > eLearning.)

Consent to participate in the customer-focused improvement program has been moved to the EPLAN profile

In the past you had the possibility to grant or withdraw your consent to the customer-focused improvement program in the Backstage view Help. This possibility has now been removed and is available instead in your EPLAN profile. After the initial start of the Platform the option to participate in the customer-focused improvement program is offered in the sign-in dialog. If you would like to participate at a later date, a corresponding setting is available in the Management Center under My settings > Data protection after you have signed in to the EPLAN Cloud. This consent then applies to all EPLAN applications.

Additional buttons in the tab for the cloud products

Previously only buttons for applications that are opened in the internal browser window of the platform were displayed in the ribbon in the tab for the cloud products. Additional buttons for applications that are opened in an external browser, for example "EPLAN eLearning", are now displayed there. By clicking these buttons the corresponding applications are opened in the Internet browser set as the default on your computer.

Search field accessible via the keyboard

In the past it was not possible to use the keyboard to search for the "Tell me what you want to do?" search field in the ribbon. Now the search field can be reached with the ribbon shortcut key [Alt] + [Q].

Extended tooltip in the search field

If you enter a term in the "Tell me what you want to do?" search field, a list with the corresponding commands is displayed below the field. If you move the mouse pointer to a list entry, a tooltip with a description of the command was already displayed in the past. Now the category (tab) and the command group in which the command is to be located by default in the ribbon are displayed additionally in the Tooltip. For commands that are not displayed in the ribbon by default and commands that are located as buttons in a "gallery" (for example connection symbols in the Symbols gallery), only the category is displayed. This information can also be used to find the desired commands faster when customizing the ribbon.

Empty displayed names permitted in the ribbon

When customizing the ribbon it is now permitted to leave the displayed name of actions or commands empty. In this case, however, an image must be assigned.

Extended display in the ribbon of undocked editors

In undocked editors the context-dependent tabs Insert, Edit and View are displayed as a separate ribbon. In the past only those commands were displayed that are also available by default in these tabs. Now further commands from the categories "Insert", "Edit" and "View" are also displayed there if you have inserted these into the tabs Insert, Edit and View during customizing of the ribbon. User-defined tabs, commands from other categories as well as actions are always hidden in the ribbon of undocked editors.

Changed selection for the insertion of image files

The "GIF image file (*.gif)" file type is now no longer available anymore in the selection dialogs for the insertion of image files. This affects, for example, the dialog Select image file for inserting the image file in the graphical editor as well as the selection dialog when assigning an image file for a part in the parts management.

Outdated menu bar removed from the user interface

You could have a menu bar with the "old" menus from Version 2.9 shown as a transition help for the ribbon. This possibility is now no longer available to you. To this purpose the command Show menu bar located below the button (Workspace) has been removed from the user interface.

Copying and pasting of property arrangements within a variant

In the dialog Configure property arrangement it was previously not possible to insert a copied property arrangement below the same node for a symbol variant or a 3D part placement. Since the identifying name must be unique and can no longer be changed subsequently, two property arrangements with the same name are not permitted. The insertion of copied property arrangements within a symbol variant or a 3D part placement is now possible. To this purpose the identifying name of the copy is incremented with a counter beginning with "1". You can edit this identifying name until you apply the new data.

New Layers in Layer Management

In the layer management, new layers are available for working in accordance with the EPLAN Engineering Standard as well as for usage in the fluid power field.

Display of the duration of check runs

In the backstage view Information the most recently executed check runs with status and number of generated messages are displayed in the Status tab. (A possible command path to this tab is: File > Information > Command group Project properties > Status.) Here the total time in milliseconds that was required to execute the corresponding check runs is now displayed in the new column Duration for each message class.

Click [...] to open a subsequent dialog in which the individual times of the check runs performed are listed. Only values for check runs that were actually executed are displayed.

Filtering by file type during project selection

If you select a specific file type from the drop-down list in the Open project dialog, for example "EPLAN project (*.elk)", only projects with this file type are now listed in the dialog. The selected file type is saved and is preset the next time the dialog is opened. This is the same behavior as in Version 2.9.

Action for reorganizing projects available in the ribbon

When customizing the ribbon the action Manage project (projectmanagement) is now available. This action can amongst other things be used to reorganize projects that can no longer be opened in EPLAN. This allows projects with database errors to be repaired in many cases and then opened again.

Harmonized behavior of the "Last EPLAN version used"

In the past there was a non-uniform behavior for the properties Last EPLAN version used and Last EPLAN build number used in the EPLAN Platform. If an old project (for example from Version 2.9 SP1) was opened in EPLAN Version 2023 and updated in the process, the properties Last EPLAN version used and Last EPLAN build number used still had the value of the old EPLAN version. If a project was copied in the project management without opening it beforehand, these properties were changed and the data of the version with which it was copied was displayed. The behavior has now been harmonized. The current version is now also entered for the two properties when updating a project. When updating a project, the properties for the "Last editor" and the "Modification time" remain unchanged (for example Last editor: Sign-in name (ID 10022), Modification time (ID 10047), etc.). To clarify the behavior, the two properties mentioned above have been renamed in EPLAN version of the last modification or update and EPLAN build number of the last modification or update.

Display of the most recently opened and pinned projects

In the Backstage view Open, the most recently opened and pinned projects are displayed in two lists in the Last used area. In the user settings for the user interface you specify how many recently opened projects are to be displayed in the Number of recently used projects field. (The command path for the settings dialog is: File > Settings > User > Display > User interface.)
In the past this setting applied to the total number of projects in both lists. As a result, it was possible that projects from the list of pinned projects were removed when new projects were opened. Now the lists of the most recently opened and pinned projects are managed separately and the setting in the Number of recently used projects field applies per list. When the specified maximum number is reached in the list of pinned projects, further projects cannot be pinned anymore. In this case a message is displayed.

Modifications and extensions when filing off subprojects

Overlapping defined working sections can now be filed off in the dialog Subprojects. (You access the dialog via the command path File > Collaboration > Command group Subprojects > Store / file off > Store / file off subprojects.) Multiple selection is possible in this case. In the course of this change the overlapping sections are now identified with the icon . If a defined working section with an overlapping section has already been filed off, the overlapping section can no longer be filed off with another defined working section. This other defined working section is then identified by the icon .

New driver for SQL databases

All SQL databases of the EPLAN Platform now use the current Microsoft ODBC driver 17 for SQL Server. If you use SQL databases in EPLAN and this driver is not installed on your computer, a corresponding message with a hyperlink to a Microsoft download page is shown.

In the course of this change the settings dialog Settings: Driver for SQL Server and the possibility to set an alternative driver for SQL Server were removed from the user interface.

Outdated import of scripts removed

In the Settings: Automated processing dialog for automated processing it was still possible to import scripts that were created with an older EPLAN version (Version 2.1 or older). The outdated functionality with the associated icon in the toolbar has been removed.

Changed data exchange at the text formats

If data for external editing were exported in a text format, backslashes "\" in the directory specifications were converted into double backslashes "\\" and line breaks into "\n". This behavior has now been changed for the purpose of standardization with other interfaces. Backslashes "\" in the directory specifications are now not changed anymore. Line breaks are now exported and imported as "¶". These modifications only apply to the text formats of external editing.

Display of the user names

The users and user groups are listed in the left-hand section of the Rights management dialog. The description is now additionally displayed in brackets behind the identifying name. This way the plain-text names of the users can now be recognized immediately.

Search field for rights

A search field that supports you in the search for specific rights is now available in the dialog Rights management. This makes it easier to assign editing rights to a user group. The search field is displayed when you have selected a user group. If you enter a text into this field, the corresponding matches are displayed in a list below the input field. If you select an entry in the list of matching results by mouse-click, then this term is applied to the entry field and search started. Subsequently only the respective right is displayed in the Rights field in the tree view.

Revised settings for the displayed units of measure

The settings in the dialog Settings: Displayed units of measure of existing settings for decimal places do not only apply to lengths, but also to weights. The dialog has now been redesigned to make this clearer. You now specify the decimal places in the new group box Decimal places. The fields mm / kg and inch / lb are available here. (The command path for the settings dialog is: File > Settings > User > Display > Displayed units of measure.)

Arrow display possible for all line types

It is possible to activate an arrow display in the property dialog for the starting and end points of lines. In the past this did not work for line types that are provided for the application in P&I diagrams. With the new version the arrow display is now possible for all line types.

Improved display of the editor tabs

For more than one opened project, the project names are now also displayed in brackets for opened layout spaces on the tabs of the graphical editors behind the layout space name. In addition, the edge of the tabs is now displayed in the project group color if a specific color was assigned to the projects via the project group assignment.

Use of project variables during the document selection for hyperlinks

In the property dialog for hyperlinks you can now also access project variables when specifying the document to be linked. For the Document field you branch via the popup menu item Insert path variable into the dialog Select path variable. The Project variables tab is now also available for the hyperlinks here. This extension has also been carried out for the document selection at the following points:

• External documents
• Segments in the Documents tab

Modifications and extensions in the dialogs for the definition and selection of identifier subclasses

In the dialog Identifier subclasses the Subclass task column has been renamed to the Purpose or task of the object. In addition the dialog now disposes of the new columns Examples for products and Comments in which further information can be stored. (You access the dialog via the command path File > Settings > "Project name" > Devices > Numbering (online). In the dialog Settings: Numbering (online) click [...]).
In the dialog Select identifier subclasses, the field Direct entry has been renamed to Filter. Entered strings in this field determine the identifier subclass not only in the Subclass column, but also in the columns Purpose or task of the object, Examples for products, and Comments. (You can access the dialog, for example, via the property dialog of a device if you select the Identifier subclasses popup menu in the Displayed DT field.)

Message with number of connections when source and target are exchanged

If you use the Exchange source and target command to exchange the connections marked in the graphical editor or in a project data navigator, a message with the number of connections to be exchanged is now displayed. This way all connections in the project or below a node are no longer exchanged accidentally. (The command path is: Tab Connections > Command group Connections > Source and target).

New check run for user-defined property arrangements

The new check run 022062 "Object has user-defined property arrangement" is available in the message class 022 "Other". With this check run you can check in a project to which objects a property arrangement with the name "User-defined" is assigned. The check run can be used to determine all objects that have user-defined property arrangements in order to assign a standardized property arrangement to these objects.

New check run for connection point designations of devices

The new check run 007034 from the message class 007 "Devices" allows you to check whether the value of the connection point designations of a function of a device placed in the schematic matches the value of the connection point designation at the associated function template of the part. In this check run, for example, exchanged connection point sequences at device functions can be determined.

Extended check run for identifiers

The check run 017003 from the message class 017 "Device" now also considers defined identifier subclasses in the device tag in addition to identifier sets. Previously only the correct identifier of the identifier set was checked. Now an additional check is carried out whether the correct identifier subclass was used when entering longer device tags.

New placeholder elements for terminal diagrams

The following new placeholder elements are now available in the dialog Placeholder texts - Terminal diagram for terminal diagram forms:

• Cable chart data area via connection point [1] - [10]
• Cable chart header via connection point [1] - [10]

Calling up the translation settings from the ribbon

The settings for the translation can now also be called up from the ribbon. Use the command path Tab Tools > Command group Translation > Drop-down button Translate > Settings to open the dialog Settings: Translation - <Project name>. This dialog displays both the project-specific translation settings (in the tabs Project, Extent, and Translatable pages) and the user-specific translation settings (in the tabs User and Project-independent).

Deleting multiple keywords simultaneously

Multiple selection of keywords is now possible in the Dictionary dialog in the tabs Edit words and Select words. (A possible command path is: Tab Tools > Command group Translation > Dictionary.) This way several entries can be deleted simultaneously. For security purposes a message with the number of entries to be deleted is displayed before the deletion.

In the course of this change the Find field has been removed from the tabs. To search for a keyword, simply enter the initial letters of the searched keyword in the keyword list.

AutoComplete without upper-/lower-case letters being taken into consideration

If you have activated the AutoComplete option in the user settings for the translation, translatable words are automatically added during typing. (A possible command path is: File > Settings > User > Translation > Dictionary.) The words have to be in the dictionary already. Word suggestions are found irrespective of the upper-/lower-case letters in the process. When you apply the suggestion (for example, with a mouse click, the [Enter] key or switching to a different field), the displayed text is adapted to the upper-/lower-case letters in the dictionary.

Updating the Parts Database

If you work with several EPLAN versions (e.g., when switching to version 2024) and have in version 2024 an "older" parts database, you will be prompted upon opening parts management to update the parts database. If you answer this prompt with [Yes], the parts database is updated.

Combination view for the parts management

The parts to be managed can now be displayed again in a combination view in the left-hand area of the parts management and in the part master data navigator. Such a view shows the parts in a combined representation of the parts tree and parts list. You can switch to the combination view by using the new button (Combination) above the different representations.

The popup menu item Configure representation always acts simultaneously on the tree or list and combination view. For example, changing the configuration for the list also changes the list area of the combination view.

Taking into consideration the template group for assemblies when combining function templates

Previously the template group identifiers of the function templates of the individual parts were not entered at the function templates in the assembly when combining function templates for an assembly. Now the template group identifiers, supplemented by the part positions at the assembly, are entered into the function templates of the assembly.

Opening external documents in the overview

External documents are now displayed in the Overview tab as hyperlinks and can be opened immediately with a click.

Configuring the representation of tables for assemblies, modules and accessories

The tables of the tabs Assembly, Module and Accessories now dispose of the popup menu item Configure representation. You can add further columns for part properties to the tables and customize the order of the columns as you wish.

New property "Cable unit"

The new property Cable unit (ID 31162) is now available for the data exchange with EPLAN Harness proD. The property specifies the association of a component (function, connection, cable, etc.) to a cable unit in EPLAN Harness proD.

Data exchange with EPLAN Harness proD extended by two properties

During the data exchange between the EPLAN Platform and EPLAN Harness proD the property Connection description (ID 31009) and the property Part description (ID 31014) are now also taken into consideration. The exchange file for the export and import of wire harness data (*.hpdex) has been extended accordingly.

Importing of supplied schemes for the assignment of symbols

In the dialog Settings: Symbol assignment you can create assignment schemes for assigning symbols or select one of the provided schemes. The supplied schemes are now no longer contained by default in the drop-down list of the Scheme field. These schemes are now located in the default directory for schemes and can be imported from there. (The default directory is either the program-specific default setting <Program drive>:\<Program directory>\Schemes\<Company code> or the directory specified in the settings for schemes: File > Settings > User > Management > Directories.)

Improvements in the Dialog "Edit terminal strip"

With this version the dialog Edit terminal strip has been revised and improved. The popup menu item New terminals (devices) known from the strip terminal navigator is now also available here. Alignable accessories and multi-level terminals can now be disconnected separately. This ensures that multi-level terminals are retained when the accessories are disconnected. In addition you now have the possibility to check the current terminal strip directly without leaving the dialog.

If you have marked terminals in the graphical editor or in the terminal strip navigator and open the Edit terminal strip dialog (for example, via the popup menu item Edit in the terminal strip navigator), these terminals are now also marked there. This allows the desired terminals to be edited immediately.

Display of the part variant

In the dialogs Edit terminal strip and Edit plug you use a scheme to specify which properties are displayed in the tables for editing. In these schemes the indexed property Part variant is now also available. As with the part numbers, the index can be used to display up to 10 part variants. The part variant refers to the part number with the same index value.

Indexed properties (for example, Part number, Part variant) are now displayed in a combined form in the Property selection dialog. Schemes from older EPLAN versions are automatically transferred into the new format.

Filtered function definitions when generating pins in the dialog "Edit plug"

If you use the popup menu item New functions in the dialog Edit plug to generate pins, only function definitions that match the current plug definition are now offered.

Connecting Missing Cable Connections

If a cable connects two terminal strips with each other and not all cable connections were configured, you now have the possibility to automatically generate and connect the missing cable connections. The spare terminals required for placing these connections are also generated automatically. The new command Connect cable connections is available to this purpose.

If you designate connections (command path: Tab Connections > Command group Connections > Enter designation), you can have the results of the connection numbering displayed in the dialog Designate connections: Preview of result. In this dialog new connection designations that deviate from the current connection designation are now highlighted by a yellow background.

Display of Example Addresses when Addressing PLC Connection Points

During the addressing of PLC connection points, an example address is now displayed in the dialog Address PLC connection points as an input aid in the input fields for the start value of the addressing. Modifiable Sequence of the Identifier Blocks in the Generated Symbolic Address

In the PLC-specific settings you can specify that symbolic addresses are generated automatically. In the tab Format of symbolic address of the dialog Settings: PLC-specific you could in the past also specify identifier blocks that are a component of the symbolic address and replace the associated preceding signs in the assignment list by other characters. Filtering by the type of signal in the PLC navigator

In the PLC navigator the Connection point logic: Type of signal (ID 20371) property is now additionally available when a filter is created.

New interface for the PLC configuration program "Omron Sysmac Studio"

An interface for the PLC configuration program "Omron Sysmac Studio" is now additionally available for the PLC data exchange. This interface allows the export and import of PLC configuration files in the AutomationML AR APC format. In the dialog Export PLC data the "Omron Sysmac Studio 1.50 or later" entry has been added to the drop-down list of the PLC configuration program.

Modifications and extensions for the export and import of assignment lists

The export and import of assignment lists is now additionally possible in Excel format (*.xlsx). If you open the subsequent dialog Select folder in the dialogs Export assignment list (entire CPU) and Import / synchronize assignment list in the File name field, you can select the "Assignment lists (*.xlsx)" file type from the drop-down list there.

A filter set in the dialog Addresses / assignment lists only affects the display. During the export all PLC I/O connection points of the CPU are always exported. To make this clear, the command Export assignment list and the corresponding dialog title of the export dialog have been renamed to Export assignment list (entire CPU).

New check run for bus systems in the logical network

The message class 004 "PLC" has been extended by the new check run 004122 "The logical network <x> is connected via different bus systems".

This check run is used to determine bus ports within the same logical network that are assigned to different bus systems. The bus ports assigned to the properties Configuration project, Physical network: Name and Logical network: Name must always have the same value.

PLC properties that are no longer used were removed

For Version 2023 PLC properties for racks that were only required for the PLC data exchange via the outdated, no longer supported interface "Rockwell Studio 5000 Architect 20/21" were identified with the supplement "(do not use anymore)" and grayed out. However, the properties still existed internally and, among other things, had an influence on the display sequence in the navigator. Now these properties are automatically deleted when opening and updating old projects:

• Sort code (for position in rack) (ID 20258)
• Number of positions in the rack (ID 20259)
• Number of positions in the rack (to the left) (ID 20260)

Changing 3D Views in the Layout Space Using the Navigation Cube

Previously you could only change 3D views of the layout space via the commands of the drop-down list Rotate viewing angle in the status bar or by means of specific shortcut keys. In the current version it is now possible to generate all the views by means of a navigation cube that is displayed in the upper right in the opened layout space.

Lining up 3D Part Placements without Gaps

Incorrect placement or subsequent removal of mounted devices or items results in gaps on mounting rails, C horizontal rails or horizontal rails. To close these gaps on rails, the Edit tab of the ribbon in the command group Arrange is now available with the command Line up without gaps. The command lines up 3D part placements with gaps so that they are lined up next to each other on a rail. New settings for rotating and moving 3D models in the layout space

In the past you could only move 3D models in the layout space with the middle mouse button. Now you can also perform rotation actions via the middle mouse button. To this purpose the dialog Settings: 3D in the user-specific settings has been extended by two new options with the Middle mouse button group box. (You access the dialog via the following command path: File > Settings > User > Graphical editing > 3D.)
Use the Rotate, and to move also use [Shift] setting to rotate the viewing angle of the 3D model in the layout space while holding down the mouse button. If you additionally hold down the [Shift] key while rotating, the rotation is interrupted and the 3D model is moved in the layout space in the direction of the mouse movement. With the setting Only move the 3D model can only be moved in the layout space when the middle mouse button is held down.

Move grouped 3D objects using a superior handle

If you have grouped 3D objects in the layout space, you can now define a superior handle for this group. After pressing the [V] key, the group can then be moved easily to the desired position in the layout space by means of this handle. As soon as you ungroup the grouping, the superior handle is removed automatically and the handles of the individual 3D objects take effect again.

Extended settings for connection filters

In the project settings for routing connections the number of fields for the entry of filter values has been extended from 15 to 100 fields in the Connection filter tab of the dialog Settings: General (command path: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Routing connections > General > Tab Connection filter). The extended fields are thus also available to you in the property dialog of wire ducts and routing paths in the layout space (property Layout space: Connection filter) as well as in the property dialog of topology routing paths (property Topology: Connection filter).

Removed functionality of the part migration for Rittal TS8-based projects

The functionality Migrate part has been removed. With this functionality the Rittal baying system TS8 could be migrated to the Rittal baying system VX25 in existing EPLAN Pro Panel projects. In this context the following elements have also been removed from the user interface:

• The popup menu item Migrate part in the layout space navigator
• The check runs 026102 and 026104
• The user-specific dialog Settings: Part migration.

"Function text" property now also available for components in the layout space

In the past the function text of components in the layout space such as enclosures, mounting panels, doors, side panels and wire ducts could only be edited in a table. With this version the property Function text (ID 20011) is available in the property dialog of these components on the first tab in the Properties group box.

New Functionality for Calculating the Total Weight of Enclosures

In EPLAN Pro Panel it is now possible to determine the actual total weight of each enclosure placed in a layout space project-wide. The actual total weight of an enclosure is calculated from the enclosure weight and the sum of the weights of all parts and routed connections placed in the enclosure.

Removed interface to Rittal - Athex

The automatic Rittal - Athex equipment system is no longer offered by Rittal. Selection of parts at PCT loop functions

You can now also store parts at PCT loop functions. You specify which tabs are available at which segment in the dialog Configure segment definitions - <Project name> in the tab Numbering / availability. For the segments measuring function and consumer function you can now also activate the check box Part in the group box Available data. This means that the Part tab is available in the corresponding property dialogs and parts can be stored. This way PCT loop functions that represent a device or part of a device can be configured better.

Selection of part reference data during the field assignment for the import

In the past only a few part properties were available in the dialog Field assignment during the import of pre-planning data (Part number, Part variant, Number of units / quantity, etc.). Now it is possible to also select part reference data during the import. These are, for example, properties such as Subset / length or also user-defined properties for parts that are defined as part reference properties.

Extended tree structure in the segment template navigator

Segment templates can contain subordinate segment templates. In the tree of the segment template navigator this is only identified by the icon – but the subordinate segment templates were not visible in the past. Now the subordinate segment templates – if they exist – are displayed as the lowest hierarchy level and are identified by the preceding icon (for example " Measuring function voltage").

Outdated method for synchronizing parts data

Since Version 2022 it is no longer possible in the EPLAN Platform to overwrite an existing part property at a part during synchronization from the project into the parts management. For this reason the overload of the method PartToSystem with the parameter Storemode from the class Synchronize was defined as outdated.

"XEsSetPropertyAction" action now also for placements of segments

The XEsSetPropertyAction action now also functions for segments such as PCT loops. The segments can be selected on P&I diagram pages in the graphical editor as well as in the pre-planning navigator.

New method for exporting manufacturing data to EPLAN Smart Production Collection

To be able to export the manufacturing data of a project for EPLAN Smart Production Collection in an EPDZ file, the ProjectManagement class now provides the new method PublishProjectForSmartProduction. In the course of this new feature the method PublishProjectForSmartWiring has been identified as outdated.

New action for preparing macros

If you want to prepare macros of a macro project via EPLAN API, you must have previously used the action generatemacros with the parameter TYPE:PREPARE. Most of the parameters of this action are not required at all for the preparation of macros. This made the usage of the action unwieldly. For this reason the new action preparemacros with only a few parameters specifically for this functionality is now available for the preparation of macros.

New parameter for updating backed up projects

When updating backed up projects (*.zw1) to the current version by means of the action XPrjActionUpgradeProjects the description of the data backup was previously supplemented by a further entry for each update. The new parameter FileDescription can now be used to specify whether this behavior is maintained, whether the description is not changed or whether the entire previous description is replaced by a new text.

Event handling before deleting objects

With the new methods AddPreRemoveHandler and RemovePreRemoveHandler from the class ProjectEventsProvider you can now activate and deactivate an event handling before deleting objects. In the past, event handling was only possible after deleting. This new feature is available as of versions 2.9 SP1 Update13, 2022 Update7 and 2023 Update3.

Adding commands to a user-defined command group

In the RibbonCommandGroup class the AddCommandWithId method is now available to add an existing ribbon command per command ID to a user-defined command group of the ribbon.

Determining mounting points of mounting levels

New overloads have been added for the methods FindTargetMate and GetTargetMates from the class Placement3D. By means of the parameter bConsiderMountingSurfaces it is now possible to determine the mounting points of the mounting levels belonging to the starting object (for example mounting panel, door, etc.). This way it is possible to place an item on the mounting surface of a mounting panel or door by means of EPLAN API.

Exporting Manufacturing Data for EPLAN Smart Production Collection

The projectmanagement action has been extended. By means of the new parameter value /TYPE:PUBLISHSMARTPRODUCTION you can export the manufacturing data of a project for EPLAN Smart Production Collection into an EPDZ file. In the course of this change the value PUBLISHSMARTWIRINGTODISK was identified as obsolete.

Taking other record types into account during the synchronization of parts

The new method PartsDatabaseItemToProject is now available in the Synchronize class in order to take into account data record types such as drilling patterns, connection point patterns, etc. when synchronizing parts data stored in the project with the data of the system.

Removal of outdated methods and properties

Due to the ongoing improvements to the EPLAN Platform, some methods and properties of the EPLAN API are no longer needed. For the new version of the EPLAN API, numerous methods and properties that were already identified as outdated for Version 2.9 SP1 have been removed.

Invert white graphical elements via EPLAN API

In order to now also specify the setting Invert white graphical elements via EPLAN API during the PDF export, the DegreeOfColor list has been extended with the WhiteInverted option in the Export class of the name space EPLAN.EplApi.HEServices (value 4).

In addition the export action has been extended. During the PDF export the output is effected by means of the new parameter value /BLACKWHITE:3 in black and white. In addition, white graphical elements with the color numbers 8, 255, 263, 264, 266 are inverted in black.

If several projects or pages of different projects were marked in the page navigator and a page was additionally opened in the graphical editor, the associated project was only recognized as an active project when an object was marked on this page. This has been corrected. In such a case the active project is now determined from the editor (graphical editor, form editor, etc.) that was last active in the main working window. The associated editing commands are then available for this project in the Backstage view.

The InstallationSpacesToStep method from the Export3D class did not export a STEP file under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If automated processing was performed for an unopened project from the project management, the used project variables did not function for the "Back up data" action. This has been corrected.

After a change of standard in which a symbol library was also replaced, an auxiliary function that was placed on a different page was no longer assigned to a placeholder object. This has been corrected.

If texts had to be scaled during the output of reports, such as terminal diagrams, the generation of the respective report took a relatively long time. The performance of this action has been improved.

After importing externally edited parts data, changed values for the technical characteristic were only displayed correctly in the "Overview" tab. Only when the parts management was closed and opened again was the new value also displayed correctly at the property and at the function template. This has been corrected.

In EPLAN Education no information about symbol libraries, plot frames or forms was displayed in the selection dialogs for opening files. This has been corrected.

The generation of parts from schematic data with subdevices did not function when a PLC box was used for the device. This has been corrected.

The sizes of the page navigator and the graphical preview were changed when the tabular editing was opened and closed again. This has been corrected. The window sizes and positions of the navigators and of the graphical preview are now adapted in percentage terms when switching off and on.

If a project contained both multi-line and single-line configured network structures, check run 004109 previously reported a difference in the bus ports, even if they were different network structures. This has been corrected. The check run now only compares bus ports in the multi-line and single-line representation of the same network structure. To this purpose the bus ports are identified on the basis of the DT, the bus interface name and the plug designation.

If several check boxes were marked and selected or deselected together in the tables of certain specific dialogs (such as Settings: Parts management or Settings: Translatable pages), this setting was not retained. This now works again.

No information about the column was output in the "Parts list" report for the placement for terminals to which an assembly was assigned as a part. This has been corrected.

If you had marked a table row in the Parts tab of the property dialog and wanted to cut out the contents by using the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [x], the part selection was opened erroneously. This behavior also occurred in other tables if the selected table row contained a check box. This has been corrected.

If a PDF was generated for a project via automated processing and the Update reports when printing and exporting check box was activated in the user settings, the layout space in the project was not exported. This has been corrected. The layout space is now always exported. This corresponds to the behavior during the general PDF export via the Backstage view.

If the last entry in the table was deleted in the parts management in the Function templates tab, the focus was lost and the (Delete) button remained active. This has been corrected. Now the focus is applied to the previous line in this case.

The routing of connections now takes place again as quickly as in Version 2.9.

When switching from a workspace with user-defined commands to the standard workspace and back again, it was possible under certain conditions that the Tooltip and description of a user-defined command were exchanged with the Tooltip and description of another user-defined command. This has been corrected.

If you had shown additional page navigators (for example, one additional page navigator each for a schematic project and a macro project), the filter set in one navigator influenced the behavior when browsing in another navigator. This has been corrected. Now the main page navigator always specifies the sequence when browsing.

If you have selected a collapsed device node in the device navigator and place the device via drag & drop on a schematic page, the node of the device is no longer expanded.

If you insert several spreadsheet cells copied from Excel into the tabular editing, all entries are now inserted again where possible. If the clipboard contains more entries than there are cells in the table, the existing cells are filled and the superfluous entries are ignored. In addition, a message is displayed that not all data from the clipboard can be inserted, and you can cancel the insertion if required.

If all representation types of a function were listed for a function via the functionality Go to (all representation types), no placements of the type "Device-connection diagram" were found. This has been corrected.

During the search in the parts management (and in the Insert center) the values of the technical characteristic and of the attributes are now also found again without your having to enter a "p" before the search term.

If you used the arrow buttons in the Edit terminal strip dialog to change the level number in the Level field and then clicked another cell, the dialog flickered. This has been corrected.

If you entered an invalid shortcut key for a command in the dialog Customize shortcut keys, the command then no longer functioned. All keyboard commands had to be reset for the command to function again. This has been corrected.

If you had sorted the values according to a column in the Edit in table view and then edited a value in a table cell, the sorting was subsequently lost. This has been corrected.

The search in the parts management now also takes assemblies, modules and accessories into consideration again. To search for a part number in these components, enter a "p" before the part number (for example "p:EPL.12345").

When updating reports of the type "Planning object plan", partially empty report pages were generated because the incorrect planning object was taken into consideration for the update. This has been corrected.

If the generation of subdirectories was specified during the manufacturing data export for Rittal - Perforex BC or for Rittal - Perforex LC, the incorrect property was displayed in the export settings after successful and correct output under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If all hierarchy levels of the project were expanded in the page navigator (by means of the [X] key in the numerical block), the creation of new pages or the deleting of pages resulted in the vertical scroll bar changing its position in the page navigator. This has been corrected.

Additional columns for part reference data can be configured in the left-hand section of the table in the Parts tab of the property dialog. If you had marked a cell for a part reference property in such a column and deleted the value by using the [Del] key, the entire row with the part was deleted. This has been corrected.

User-defined ribbons that contained commands without labeling could not be imported without errors. This now functions, the import has been revised accordingly.

If the Counter page number (ID 25020) property was selected for connection definition points in the dialog Format: Block properties, a value was displayed for the property in the dialog, but not at the connection definition points in the schematic. This has been corrected.

An unexpected error message was displayed when the actions XEsGetPagePropertyAction, XEsGetProjectPropertyAction and XEsGetPropertyAction were used to query the value of a write-protected property. This has been corrected.

During the placement from the device navigator it was possible that an additional character was inserted in the visible DT of shields under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

If a configuration without the Manufacturer property was set for the record type "Parts" in the tree configuration, no manufacturer could be selected at the part as of Version 2022. This has been corrected.

During the report generation for hose lines, it was possible that the sequence of parts data changed under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

In Version 2023 strings within quotation marks ("search term") were not found correctly during the search in the parts management. This has been corrected.

When a part is imported into the parts management, this part is now marked again in the tree or list view.

If a macro that contained a mounting panel with wire ducts was inserted into a layout space and one of the wire ducts was placed again by copying and pasting, the length at this wire duct could no longer be changed. Changing the length was only possible after the macro name was deleted in the properties of the wire duct. This has been corrected.

User-defined part properties could be displayed in the information area of the Insert center in Version 2022 via a customization of the scheme for the Overview tab of the parts management. After modification of this information area for Version 2023 into a configurable table it was no longer possible to display user-defined part properties there. This has been corrected. Now user-defined part properties are also available here during the property selection for the dialog Configure representation.

Under certain conditions no axes could be aligned for the activated mounting surface of an enclosure. This has been corrected.

If a DWG file was dragged via drag & drop onto a project page, the graphic at the cursor was initially correct. When placing on the page, representation problems occurred that were only eliminated after the view was refreshed with [F5]. This has been corrected.

If the drill type of a drilling pattern was changed in the Cut-outs tab (for example to "Rectangular"), the [Apply] button first had to be actuated before the cells in the columns were enabled or locked for the dimension. This has been corrected.

During the copying or moving of segments in the tree of the pre-planning navigator the "skipped" segments (for example PCT loops) in the tree were opened completely. This has been corrected.

If only the project name was selected in the page navigator, a user-defined property for connections could not be edited in the tabular editing. This has been corrected.

During a device selection with the setting Minimize unused functions the preset values were not taken into consideration for cables. This has been corrected.

The docking of specific texts was not saved in the plot frame editor. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined property with the same identifying name existed in the project as in the parts management for a part, the user-defined property in the project was overwritten with the data of the user-defined property for the part. This has been corrected. A user-defined property with the same identifying name but a different assignment can no longer be created. If such a user-defined property is to be imported, the import is now not possible and a system message is also displayed.

If the EPLAN Data Portal was docked within the EPLAN platform as a tab and a part is to be inserted as devices on a project page, the device was not displayed at the cursor during inserting. This has been corrected.

If segments with unplaced subordinate segments were deleted on pre-planning pages, the subordinate segments were still displayed in the list view of the pre-planning navigator. This has been corrected.

If a workspace from Version 2022 was exported and imported into a newer EPLAN version, it was possible that hidden tabs were visible again. This has been corrected.

During the assignment of parts data at the macro box it was previously not possible to access the user-defined properties for the parts in the Parts data assignment tab. This has been corrected.

In the dialog DT selection it was not possible to assign the next free connection point designation for busbar connection points and device connection points by using the [Next] button. This has been corrected.

As of Version 2024, EPLAN program updates can be displayed and uninstalled by means of the EPLAN Setup Manager and the EPLAN Downloads Manager.

The performance for rotating items on panel layout pages has been improved.

When placing a device via drag & drop from the device navigator, it was possible that the references existing in the macro were lost on user-defined layers. This has been corrected.

Processors with the instruction set extension AVX2 are required for the operation of the EPLAN Platform 2024. Therefore hardware components such as the used processor are also checked for compatibility during the start of EPLAN. If processors are found that use outdated instruction sets that are unsuitable for EPLAN, a corresponding error message is displayed and EPLAN is not started. Processors with unsuitable instruction sets are usually older than approximately 10 years.

If EPLAN is to run on virtual computers that use the Microsoft Hyper-V component, you must deactivate the two processor options "CompatibilityForOlderOperatingSystemsEnabled" and "CompatibilityForMigrationEnabled".

If a workspace from Version 2022 was exported and imported into a newer EPLAN version, it was possible that the sequence of user-defined tabs in the ribbon as well as the sequence of the command groups in these tabs changed. This has been corrected.

If segments with nested structures and subordinate functions were numbered in the pre-planning navigator, this could result in the functions receiving an incorrect device tag. This has been corrected.

The shortcut keys with [Alt] + [Letter] in the user interface now function again as expected. In the property dialog of the devices you can, for example, use [Alt] + [H] again to re-activate or deactivate the check box Main function.

If a project was marked for editing in tables and a specific selection was made in the editing in tables dialog (the entire table, a column, etc.), it was possible that not all table cells were recorded during the subsequent action (copy and paste, delete, etc.). This has been corrected.

When customizing the ribbon the message management could not be added to the quick access. This now works.

Commands and actions that are assigned to a user-defined tab in the ribbon can now be added again to the quick access toolbar.

Different functions that can also have parts as auxiliary functions are now no longer inserted as main functions when inserted as devices (for example via the Insert center). This correction applies, for example, to busbar connection points but not pins.

If the variants of a specific symbol were placed on a P&I diagram page and the representation type of these components was set to "External" in the properties, some of the variants were not drawn completely as an external symbol. This has been corrected.

In order to have the currently selected scheme for the system configuration displayed and, for example, to be able to prompt in scripts, the dialog Select path variable in the Program variables tab has been extended by the new path variable $(CFG_SYSTEMCONFIGURATION).

During the drag & drop of an object from the tree view of a navigator into the graphical editor the window contents of a navigator now no longer move to the right or left. Since this scrolling is prevented, possible graphical errors no longer occur (for example at colored navigators due to defined project groups).

The calculation of the cable length during routing has been optimized.

Duplications could occur at the names in the directory path if a search was carried out in a macro project with the setting All properties of all components and a name was replaced in the directory path for the found properties in the search results list. This has been corrected.

If the Update reports when printing and exporting setting was activated, only the selected layout space was output during a PDF export (for example via automated processing) despite the activated setting Apply to entire project. This has been corrected.

If objects (such as devices, interruption points, etc.) were located in the tree view of a navigator in an area that was previously not visible by moving the scroll bar, it was possible that the selection of these objects with the keyboard did not function. This has been corrected.

As in Version 2.9 all icons are now displayed again in the tree view of the macro navigator (for example for the macro type, the placeholder object, etc.).

During a device selection for a cable with associated plugs the pin descriptions were not transferred from the function templates to the plugs. This has been corrected.

If the selection dialog was opened in the parts management for external documents in the Property: External documents dialog, the current directory of the external documents was not always displayed in this dialog. This has been corrected.

If parts data with existing technical characteristics were changed during external editing, the technical characteristics could not be imported correctly again under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

If items were placed for which 3D part placements with the same DT already existed in the layout space, it was possible that the connection points at the new 3D part placement did not exist and could therefore not be generated during routing. This has been corrected. During the placement of such items the connection points are now generated from the function templates, in as far as they do not already exist at a different part placement with the same DT.

For nested black boxes with assigned planning objects the "inner" black box was also numbered during copying and pasting, even though this was not set in the numbering formats for online numbering. This has been corrected.

Changed user-defined properties for parts were detected in the Synchronization of parts dialog as new "system parts", but could not be synchronized with the user-defined properties stored in the project. This has been corrected.

In summarized parts lists the total length of all the functions (for example cables, connections, routing paths, busbars, etc.) with the same part can be output by means of the property Total length with unit of the project (ID 20513). The value of this property was always output in the unit "meter", even if a different unit was specified in the project settings. This has been corrected. Now the unit of length specified in the project settings is used.

If configured properties (Connection point designation [1], Connection point description [1], etc.) were copied for a symbol in the Property arrangement dialog in the Connection points tab, these properties could not be inserted at any other symbol even though the corresponding popup menu item or the button were active. This now functions when a symbol has the corresponding connection point.

If a simplified representation is selected for a model view, the default property arrangement is always used for terminal strips for the property arrangement. Although the DT (displayed) property was selected in this property arrangement, the full device tag was displayed. This has been corrected.

If at first the control keys and then a key for changing the angle symbol were pressed for an angle symbol at the cursor (for example [F4]) and or the view was updated with [F5], the symbol was not visible at the cursor and was only displayed again when the cursor was moved. This has been corrected.

Using the CompressProject method from the ProjectManagement class could result in the object of the "Project" type transferred as a parameter becoming invalid and having to be determined again by the user. This has been corrected.

Optimizations have been carried out for the PLC data exchange in the AutomationML format.

• During the import the association of PLC connection points to the PLC card is now also detected at incomplete devices.
• The following applies to Ethernet-based bus systems: If the bus ports are missing for a device in the PLC configuration file, but the bus interface name exists, a suitable bus port is generated during the import.

If several bundles were directly connected with each other by means of bundle connection points, it was possible under certain conditions that too few connections were generated during updating of the connections. This has been corrected.

Problems occurred during the copying and pasting of values for the property External documents (ID 22369) in the Properties tab. This has been corrected.

If several items (mounting panels, doors, etc.) were located on the same hierarchy level during the automatic dimensioning of model views, this could result in the dimension help lines at these items being too long despite the activated setting Up to the hierarchically highest item. This has been corrected.

During the export of parts data in XML format the property Certification: UL Category Control Number (ID 22368) was not considered. This has been corrected.

If a device was to be placed on a mounting surface using the orthogonal function, the mounting line of a busbar was used instead of the originally selected mounting surface when the cursor was moved over this mounting line. This has been corrected.

If an item is placed several times on the mounting line of a copper rail using the orthogonal function, it was possible that the second item was placed on a mounting surface of the item placed first. This has been corrected.

In the past it was not possible to use the ProjectManagementDatabase property from the ProjectManagement class to set a project management database of the type *.db as the current project management database. This has been corrected.

During the system configuration, environment variables (such as $(ENVVAR_USERPROFILE)) for the directory for rights management could not be used as path variables since these were only loaded later. This has been corrected. The environment variables are now loaded earlier so that they can also be used as path variables.

If a black color scheme is set for the color settings, a yellow border is now displayed again during the insertion of image files or QR codes while the border is expanded for the definition of the corner points.

If a scaling greater than 100% was set in the Windows settings, images on the project pages were also output scaled during printing in specific cases. This has been corrected.

If new values were added for specific properties (for example Wearing part, Spare part, Service time, etc.) in the parts management or during editing in tables, these values were not sorted in alphanumerically but rather attached to the end of the self-extending lists. This has been corrected.

As of Version 2024 the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 is now required for the operation of the EPLAN platform. Further information and the current version of this Microsoft component are available for download from the Microsoft website.

When updating model views via the dialog Model views for the management of model views, the filters existing in the templates were not taken into consideration. This has been corrected.

Under certain conditions it was possible that the jump areas in the generated PDF files were very small. This has been corrected.

If a busbar with outline was placed, this length-variable item was drawn slowly, and representation problems occurred during this action. This has been corrected.

During the export of pages for external editing the pages were output unsorted. This has been corrected. The pages are now exported in the same sequence as in the list view of the page navigator.

If you want to export an assignment list in the dialog Addresses / assignment lists, you have to set a filter so that only the PLC addresses of one CPU are displayed. In the process PLC I/O connection points that are placed in a black box are now filtered out again and are no longer displayed in the dialog.

During the PDF export it was possible that the URL of a hyperlink was changed during the export and thus the link in the PDF did not function. This has been corrected.

If a texture was used for the front of a 3D part placement, the connection points and the connection point designations could not be recognized from the front after selection of the command Connection point designations (view). This has been corrected.

In an exported PDF document the jump by means of the [F] key between two cross-referenced structure boxes did not function. This has been corrected.

If hyperlinks (for example for external documents in the parts management or in the graphical editor) contained specifications for executable files, the quotation marks (") in these hyperlinks were moved by EPLAN to another location in the hyperlink or directory path. This has been corrected.

If externally edited parts data were imported, it was possible that parts with variants that were longer than three characters were also imported. This has been corrected. During the import for external editing, the number is shortened for a part with a variant number that is too long and the next free variant number is assigned.

If parts are found by means of the search in the parts management and the first found part is marked in the list view, the associated data of the part are now displayed again in the right-hand section of the dialog on the Properties tab.

The type of check "Online / offline" could be set for the check runs 005044, 005045 and 005069 of the message class 005 "Connections", even though these check runs can only be executed offline. This has been corrected. The type of check "Online / offline" is no longer offered for selection for these check runs. If you open a project that was created with an older EPLAN version, the "Online / offline" setting for these check runs is automatically changed to "Offline" in the check run schemes.

Projects that have already been backed up are opened for viewing in EPLAN View. Since a data backup does not make any sense in this context, the Back up command has been removed from the Backstage view of EPLAN View.

If only function templates were displayed in a navigator by means of a filter, the selection of a superior node resulted in too many functions being displayed in the subsequently opened tabular editing. This has been corrected.

If two (or more) projects were open, this could result in the set fonts of another project being used in a project under certain conditions. If different fonts were set and no automatic updating was carried out (Always update cross-references setting was deactivated), this could result in texts being moved to project pages when the view was updated, since the correct fonts were displayed again after the update.

In placeholder objects no check boxes could be activated for the values during the editing of variables under specific conditions on the Values tab. During the transfer of old projects (for example Version 2.9) to the current version it was possible that the settings for check boxes activated in the Values tab were lost and could also not be activated anymore for variables of placeholder objects. This has been corrected.

When using user-defined project properties with multilingual default values for the selection list, only the displayed language was applied during the selection in the placeholder object and the values in the placeholder object were therefore not translated. This has been corrected.

If the functionalities Exchange parts were executed for an enclosure, it was possible that specific items were deleted. This has been corrected. The functionality has been adapted correspondingly.

If the "Prevent errors" type of check was set for the check run 026012 "Part placement collides with restricted placing area", and if a device was placed on a mounting panel in such a way that it protruded into a restricted placing area, the placement was not prevented. This has been corrected.

If a QR code for the hyperlink of an external document was to be output in a device tag list and a new placeholder text for a QR code was placed in a form of the type "Device tag list", the output of the QR code did not function. This has been corrected.

If a busbar was placed as a component of a terminal strip in the layout space, the length of this busbar could not be changed by using the command Change length. This has been corrected.

If a branch was made in the property dialog of a 3D part placement via an assigned part into the part selection and this was closed with [OK] without a change, it was possible that the conflict dialog was opened without any apparent reason. An incorrect connection point pattern occurred after the confirmation of the conflict dialog. This has been corrected.

During the transfer of parts data by means of the action XPamArticlesSyncAction from a current parts database into an old parts database of Version 2.9, it was possible in multi-user operation that deleted records (for example connection point patterns) in the parts database to be synchronized were not removed. This has been corrected. All parts data are now synchronized with the new parameter /full:1. The parts data that were deleted in the source database are also deleted in the target database.

If connections of busbar connection points were routed in a project, it was possible under certain conditions that the check run message 026015 "Connection point '<x>' exists more than once" was output even though the associated device in the device navigator only had one connection point. This has been corrected.

If the length of length-variable items was modified by using the Change length command, it was possible under certain conditions that the item was no longer displayed. The item was only visible again after the view was updated via [F5]. This has been corrected.

If pages in the graphical editor on which very large images were placed were reduced in size by zooming, it was possible that the images were no longer displayed. This has been corrected.

When customizing the ribbon you have the possibility to assign actions as commands to a user-defined command group and assign an image to each of these actions. If an action configured in this way was added to the quick access toolbar, only a circle was displayed there as the image. This has been corrected. The image assigned to the action is now displayed in the quick access toolbar. The associated default image is always displayed there for the commands from the main tabs or commands of the "Further commands" category.

If characters with an illegal character set encoding were used on a graphical page, this resulted in an unexpected error message during the PDF export and the PDF file was not created. This has been corrected.

If the archiving format PDF/A is used during the PDF export, linked documents are not taken into consideration by default. If a linked external document (for example an Excel file) was already in the export directory of the PDF export, a page with an "apparent" link was generated in the PDF file during a PDF export in the archiving format PDF/A for a project page with linked external document. This has been corrected.

If several part placements were combined as a block on an enclosure layout page, these part placements could not be aligned by means of the command Align horizontally. This has been corrected.

If a font occurred in several variations (italics, bold, etc.), it was possible that these fonts were not displayed as in Version 2.9. This has been corrected.

Depending on which selection was made in the list view of a navigator, problems could arise during the subsequent sorting of a column. This has been corrected.

If the interface IEplActionEnable was used in the EPLAN API, there was a delay under specific conditions during the display of buttons in the ribbon. This performance has been improved.

If busbar systems were placed on a mounting panel, this resulted in the check run message 017001 being output during a subsequent check run for the mounting surfaces of the busbars. This has been corrected. These mounting surfaces are now also taken into consideration during the DT determination.

If you double-clicked a column header in the dialog Suggested identifiers for sorting, it was possible that no data was displayed in the dialog afterwards. This has been corrected. In Version 2.9 the designation of a column could be changed by double-clicking in the cell with the column header. This is no longer possible through the redesign of the user interface for Version 2022. The popup menu item Rename is now available to this purpose.
In the course of these modifications the dialog was renamed to Identifier sets in accordance with the calling command.

The UserDefinedPropertyDefinitions property from the MDPartsDatabase class has output an exception in the case of invalid entries during the configuration of user-defined properties for parts. This has been corrected.

In the past some properties of function templates (Plug designation, PLC subdevice: Index, etc.) could not be accessed via EPLAN API for parts in the parts management. This has been corrected.

It is now possible to create a user-defined property configuration for the segment templates in the segment template navigator. This is done in the second tab of the property dialog in the "Properties" table as usual by using the popup menu item "Configure". User-defined property configurations that were created at the segment are available at the associated segment definition and vice versa.

The generation of terminals in the dialog New terminals (devices) using a numbering pattern has been improved. Thus, for example, with the numbering pattern "1,1,1,2-4" three terminals with the designation "1", three terminals with the designation "2", three terminals with the designation "3", but only one terminal with the designation "4" were generated in the past. Now three terminals with the designation "4" are also generated in this case.

In the past only busbars with bending positions were considered during the automatic generation of copper unfolds by means of templates. This has been corrected. "Straight" busbars can now also be used during automatic generation.

During the import of a PLC assignment list that contained function texts with line breaks, the line breaks were imported but not displayed on the project page. For the line breaks to be displayed, the property dialog first had to be opened once and closed again for each PLC connection point. This has been corrected.

During the output of labeling data for the report type "Summarized parts list" it was possible that the incorrect quantity was output for a broken-up assembly depending on the selection made (the entire project or only the assembly in the device navigator). This has been corrected.

If a connection list was updated when working with defined working sections, it was possible that the report page was deleted even though connections from the current defined working section were in this list. This has been corrected.

If model views are generated via the templates in the tab of the same name of the dialog Model views when working with defined working sections, model views were also output for non-selected defined working sections. This has been corrected.

If a DT was renamed in the device navigator by using the [F2] key and the subsequently opened dialog of the DT syntax check was closed with [Cancel], it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

Calling up the action partsmanagementapi sometimes resulted in a system message even though parts were imported. This has been corrected.

Korean texts with the alignment "Center right" are now displayed correctly again in the graphical editor.

If value sets were moved to the left or right in the property dialog of placeholder objects in the Values tab by using the corresponding button, the translation existing for the text was lost. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined rail with outline was placed, it was possible under certain conditions that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly when the length from another item was applied. This has been corrected.

If a device was to be inserted on a specific page by means of the CreateDevice method from the DeviceService class, this did not work for multi-level terminals. This has been corrected.

If both a texture and a 2D schematic macro were entered at the part for 3D part placements placed in the layout space, the 3D part placements without texture were displayed as soon as the simplified representation was activated. This has been corrected.

If the colors of a symbol were specified by means of user-defined layers, the layers, colors and line thicknesses were not transferred correctly during the DWG export under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

In the past only part reference properties and no part properties could be selected as filter criteria in the reports and during the export. This also applied for user-defined part properties. The setting Also validate for part references had to be activated during the configuration of the properties so that these properties were available as filter criteria. This has been corrected. All part properties and thus also user-defined part properties that are not defined as part reference properties can now be selected as filter criteria in the dialog Criteria selection. To this purpose the "Part" node with all the part properties is now available during the criteria selection.

During the export and import of parts data for external editing, problems with the values of assigned user-defined properties could occur during the import into a parts database with the same parts. This has been corrected. For this to work, the user-defined properties must first be imported into the second parts database before the parts data are imported.

If an object is selected in the tree of a navigator and then a filter is deactivated or activated, the marking in the tree is now retained again.

If no layout space was open in EPLAN, an error message occurred under specific conditions when the ShowConnections method from the Edit3D class was executed. This has been corrected.

If an alignment box was activated for the cross-reference (main / aux. function) property in the property arrangement of a PLC box, this could result in the cross-references not working. This has been corrected.

If a placed property was deleted for a property arrangement at a 3D part placement in the layout space (such as legend item), this property was displayed again after the property arrangement was saved. This has been corrected.

If routing connections in Excel format were imported and a layout space was opened at the same time, it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly after confirming the dialog Synchronize routing connections. This has been corrected.

When drawing auxiliary lines by means of the command Line through 2 points, the end points and center points of existing auxiliary lines are now found again when the object snap is activated.

At the segments in the pre-planning there were problems with user-defined property configurations that were set as the category for the properties in the Properties group box. Selected user-defined property configurations are now retained for the different segment definitions and are displayed again as a selected category during the next opening of the property dialog for the same segment definition.

If an SQL server database was set for the parts management, it was possible under certain conditions that the password of the SQL database was displayed instead of the database name in the dialog Settings: Parts (user) in the SQL server field. This has been corrected.

The property for the signal range (SignalRange) that did not exist previously has been added to the class MDPlcTemplatePosition.

If the colors of macro components were specified by means of user-defined layers, it was possible that the wrong colors were displayed for the macros in the preview tiles of the Insert center when these macros were used in other projects. This has been corrected.

If you had assigned a different symbol for a black box in the property overview, the box drawn on the schematic page still behaved like the original symbol. If, for example, a rectangle was changed to a polyline, only the size of the rectangle could be changed subsequently, but not the shape of the polyline. This has been corrected.

If block attributes were located in a layout view window in a DXF file, the block attributes were lost during the import in the past. As a result it was possible that certain graphical elements such as item numbers did not exist after the import. This has been corrected.

If several functions were selected in a navigator and already placed functions were assigned in the schematic, the assignment did not function correctly if the same functions were located in the set of selected functions and in the set of placed functions. This has been corrected.

If texts in different languages were to be output in reports about the usage of placeholder texts with formatted properties, it was possible that translated texts were not output, depending on the setting in the dialog Format: Block property. This has been corrected.

If the Keep aspect ratio setting was deactivated in the Settings: Print dialog, incorrect print margins were displayed in the print preview. This has been corrected.

During the PDF export no device pages were output from devices that are only placed in layout spaces. This has been corrected.

If automatically generated threaded holes of items were partially hidden, the centers of these holes were not captured correctly when carrying out a measurement. This has been corrected.

If a data backup was carried out for a project and values were entered in the dialog Back up projects, the values for the description and for the backup directory were no longer available or incorrect after the upload to eMANAGE and subsequent restoring from eMANAGE. This has been corrected.

If the structure identifier management was opened in multi-user operation, the popup menu item Enter in search results list could not be executed in the past and no popup menu items were available below the [Extras] button. This has been corrected. In such a case the popup menu item Enter in search results list can now be executed and below [Extras] the popup menu items [Check usage] and [Find] are now available.

Improvements have been carried out for the usage of block properties in the pre-planning:

• At structure segments it is now possible to access the data of linked structure boxes via block properties.
• The data of the structure segment can now be displayed at structure boxes via block properties.

To this purpose the format elements "Segment data" at structure boxes and "Structure box" at structure segments are now available during the specification of the block format in the dialog Format.

If several users have accessed the same EPLAN parts database in multi-user operation, the users could branch to the dialog Configure properties and there press the buttons (New) and (Import) despite a multi-user conflict. This can result in some messages, but the modifications made were not saved. Now the buttons are grayed out during a multi-user conflict and cannot be actuated.

If STEP files with the degrees of detailing "Medium" and "High" were imported, it was possible that no level placement area could be created in the layout space on a mounting surface. This has been corrected.

When changing the scheme for the parts database by means of the action XAfActionSetting, the representation of the part master data navigator was not completely updated despite the key [F5] being actuated. This has been corrected. The representation is now automatically modified in accordance with the specified scheme.

If the part master data navigator was pinned as a flyout and a part prefilter was used, updating of the display took a relatively long time each time the flyout was opened. This now takes place faster again.

If the associated macro was selected in the Insert center after the import of a part from the EPLAN Data Portal, initially no image of the macro was displayed. The image was only displayed in the preview tile after the macro had been inserted. This has been corrected.

In the list view of a navigator (3D mounting layout navigator, 2D panel layout navigator, bill of materials navigator) the marking was lost if sorting by a column was carried out. This has been corrected.

If a terminal was placed as a main terminal and distributed terminal in the schematic and additionally as a 3D part placement in the layout space, the jump to the counterpiece in the layout space by means of the functionality Go to (counterpiece) did not function. This has been corrected.

If an embedded form was specified for the contact image in the settings of a project, the set alternative output languages were not output correctly under specific conditions during a PDF export. This has been corrected.

If the object snap is activated, the end and center points of existing auxiliary lines are now found again during the drawing and placing of 3D objects in the layout space.

In the settings for the PDF output size the setting for the paper format Landscape format was not saved correctly and instead the setting Portrait format was displayed the next time the dialog was opened. This has been corrected.

In projects in which many user-defined properties and block properties are used, the opening of the Backstage view took a relatively long time. This now takes place faster.

If there were empty properties on a page, the page size was not transferred correctly under specific conditions during the DXF export. As a result, the DXF file could not be opened in AutoCAD. This has been corrected.

If templates with formulas that contained references to other spreadsheets were used for labeling in the Excel format during the output of manufacturing data, incorrect values were output. This has been corrected.

If an item with drilling pattern was duplicated with the design mode activated and subsequently placed in the layout space using the placement option With reference to original position, it was possible that the drilling pattern was not generated at the duplicated item. This has been corrected.

If the property Part number in module (ID 22966) or Part number in assembly (ID 22967) was used as a filter criterion, for example in the filter of the parts management, it was not possible to determine the parts that are used in a module or assembly with this filter. This has been corrected.

If the Insert from macro as unplaced property was activated for a function in a macro, an unexpected error message occurred during the placement of this macro on a P&I diagram page and placement in the existing pre-planning structure. The macro could then not be placed. This has been corrected.

In preparation for future changes in the licensing we are making the new version of the EPLAN License Client 2024.0.1.207 available to you with this update.

In drop-down lists it is now possible again to scroll in the list by using the mouse wheel or the keyboard.

If reports of the type "Terminal-connection diagram" were generated or updated, it was possible that the target information for terminal strips was displayed twice during a page change. This has been corrected.

Opening the message management with very many messages could result in EPLAN no longer reacting. This has now been solved. The message management for a project with extensive messages is now opened faster.

During the import of DXF files filled areas are now imported correctly again.

During the output of manufacturing data for labeling by means of an Excel template, various problems could occur during the usage of formulas, conditional formatting and templates. This has been corrected.

• Matrix formulas in the Excel template could be modified during the output and as a result not function correctly.
• If the template contained referencing hyperlinks, "@" characters were placed in front of these hyperlinks during the output and the hyperlinks did not function anymore.
• Conditional formatting in the Excel template could not be extended to the used area during the output and as a result could not function correctly.
• If texts in formulas were placed in quotation marks (""), these were not recognized as texts. As a result, the formulas did not work.
• Improvements for the usage of Excel templates of the Version Microsoft 365 have been implemented.
• During the output for the report type "Pre-planning: Planning object overview", summation formulas were not applied correctly from the Excel template.
• Formulas could be changed during the output in a different language than the source language and thus did not function correctly.
• If the Excel templates contain filters, these filters are now applied correctly.

If you remove the name of a filter setting in the Templates tab of the Reports dialog for the Filter settings field, the set filter is now actually deleted again and the "Empty" scheme is set again automatically.

If the Variant (ID 22024) property was used as a filter criterion for the filter in the parts management, filtering could only be carried out by numbers, but not by characters. This has been corrected.

If EPLAN is started with an own system configuration via the command line parameter /SystemConfiguration, this system configuration is now saved again and is also used without this parameter during the next restart of the EPLAN Platform.

If you want to use a temporary system configuration, you can do this by additionally specifying the new command line parameter /UseSystemConfigurationTemporary in the call. In this case the last saved system configuration is used during the next restart of the EPLAN Platform.

As of Version 2024 the new command line parameter is specified as follows: /UseSystemConfigurationTemporary:1.

When changing the system configuration with different directory settings for macros, problems occurred with the macro database (macro collection). This has been corrected.

If a script with a trigger that reacts to the creation of databases was used during the creation of SQL parts databases, this could result in the SQL parts databases not being created. This has been corrected.

If several parts were assigned simultaneously to a function by means of a placeholder object, it was possible that parts data was transferred incorrectly. This has been corrected.

If parts were imported from the EPLAN Data Portal with one of the options for updating the records, it was possible that existing ERP numbers were deleted. This has been corrected.

If the device data of a connection was updated by means of the UpdateDevice method from the DeviceService class, all parts except the first part were deleted for this connection. This has been corrected.

If the color of an autoconnect line was to be changed by means of a placeholder object, this did not work with the color "Black" (color number "0"). This has been corrected.

When supplementing several function templates in the Function templates tab in a step via the button (New) , the function templates are now supplemented again in the correct sequence.

If a function text is entered in a cell of the Function texts column in the dialog Synchronize function texts, you can transfer this function text to all the functions of the device by double-clicking another cell of this row. This now also functions again for function texts that are entered in the first row.

If two black boxes were placed as polylines on a project page and in part had the same edges, it was possible that the wrong black box was recognized as the inner box. As a result, incorrect device tags were assigned. This has been corrected.

If block editing was carried out for several functions and a comprehensive modification was carried out in the Parts tab (for example number of units edited), this modification could not be carried out. This has been corrected.

In the property dialog of a placeholder object you can enter variables or also fixed values in the Assignment tab in the Variable column. If you wanted to translate a value entered there by using the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [L] and in the subsequent dialog Translate had confirmed your selection with [OK], EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

When importing parts data in XML format with the setting Add new records only, new records are now added correctly again.

If a function with the "Pair cross-reference" representation type was assigned again from the device navigator to the function already placed in the schematic, the number of connection points was set to "0". This has been corrected.

Through the assignment of value sets from placeholder objects it is now possible again at a function or connection to modify the part allocation for a part stored there.

Drilling patterns with several cut-outs that were generated automatically in a macro project could not be imported correctly again after an export in the XML format and subsequently only had one cut-out. This has been corrected.

If no specifications for the creator / creation date exist during the XML import of parts data in the XML file, values for the creator and the creation date are now also entered automatically again during the generation of new parts.

During the output of manufacturing data for the labeling by means of an Excel template with several sheets, the data are now output again as defined in the template on the second sheet and the first sheet is retained.

When the action export /TYPE:PDFPAGESSCHEME was called up, the message "Access denied" was displayed under specific conditions even though PDF files were output successfully. This has been corrected.

If model views were evaluated using templates and the existing pages were updated in the process, it was possible that pages with the model views were generated twice when a filter was used. This has been corrected.

When assigning value sets from placeholder objects, the quantities of parts were not transferred correctly to the functions. Only after the same value set had been assigned again did the unit quantities agree with the functions. This has been corrected.

If the Unit for connection cross-section / diameter (ID 22068) property was used in a scheme for the configuration of the tree view, the internal value was displayed instead of the unit (for example the value "1" for "mm²"). This has been corrected.

If "XML file (*.edc)" is selected as the file type in the export settings for external editing, XML files are now also output again if the ".XML" file name extension is specified for the target file.

If you had opened and converted an SQL parts database from an older EPLAN version, it was possible that the function templates of modules were not combined correctly. This has been corrected. During the conversion of an older SQL parts database, the function templates of modules are now combined correctly.

User-defined part properties could only be used as filter criteria in the 2D panel layout navigator and 3D mounting layout navigator if the setting "Also validate for part references" was activated during the definition of these properties. This has been corrected. Now user-defined part properties that are not defined as a part reference property can also be used as filter criteria in these navigators.

In preparation for future changes in the licensing we are making the new version of the EPLAN License Client 2024.0.1.207 available to you with this update.

In some table cells numerical values can be entered by using two arrow buttons, for example in the Parts tab of the property dialog in the Number of units / quantity column. Under certain conditions the numerical values entered this way were not correctly saved when the dialog was closed with [OK]. This now works again.

If a text box with leader line is drawn for a text in the graphical editor, the starting point of the leader line is now on the line of the text box again.

In preparation for future changes in the licensing we are making the new version of the EPLAN License Client 2024.0.1.207 available to you with this update.

During the placement of accessory parts in the layout space it was possible that an unexpected error message was displayed and placement was not possible. This has been corrected.

Consistent behavior when placing on schematic pages

If a macro and a part were stored at a planning object, inconsistent behavior occurred during the placement for the creation of the detail planning. The macro is normally used for the placement, but the part was previously used for the first placement. This behavior has been changed - the macro is now always preferred consistently.

Various improvements have been made for the export in Excel format by means of templates:

• The application of buttons and control elements in Excel files has been improved.
• The formatting of tables and table cells defined in the template, such as filters, notes, conditional formatting, etc., is now applied correctly.

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 110.0.250. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN eBUILD, etc.).

If the option Translate on input was activated in the translation settings and a text that occurs several times in the dictionary was entered in a multilingual field, the dialog Found words was displayed twice under specific conditions. When confirming both dialogs with [OK], EPLAN was unexpectedly terminated. This has been corrected.

Security-relevant optimizations have been carried out for the products of the EPLAN Cloud.

If new connection point patterns were created in the parts management and exported in the EDZ or XML format, only one connection point per connection point pattern remained during a subsequent import. This has been corrected.

If values in the property table were edited in the property dialog of 3D items in the Connection point pattern tab, these values were not always saved correctly. This has been corrected.

If it was specified in the rights management for a user group that these can only enter texts that exist in the dictionary, the respective users could not enter values in user supplementary fields. This now works again.

If nodes with structure identifiers were opened and closed in the page navigator when working with several projects, it was possible that the pages of a different project were displayed. This has been corrected.

With the new methods AddPreRemoveHandler and RemovePreRemoveHandler from the ProjectEventsProvider class you can now toggle event handling before deleting objects. In the past, event handling was only possible after deleting.

If a text box with leader line is drawn for a text in the graphical editor, the starting point of the leader line is now on the line of the text box again.

If a second part with auxiliary functions (NO contact, NC contact) was assigned to a device via a placeholder object, the connection point designations of the main function were overwritten under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

The copying of function templates in the Function templates tab now functions again.

If a different part variant was assigned to a device via a placeholder object, the existing part number was removed under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If the size of a black box in a placeholder object was changed by assigning a value set, it was possible that the assignment of the device connection points located in the black box changed, but that the DT of the device connection points was not modified. This has been corrected.

Display problems occurred during the selection of properties in the property dialog of placeholder objects in the Assignment tab. All selected properties were only displayed after the dialog was opened again. This has been corrected.

If you jumped from an undocked graphical editor to the counterpiece in the main window using the Go to (counterpiece) functionality, no properties could be edited anymore on the page in the main window. This has been corrected.

Values for the Technical characteristics property can now be deleted or changed again for parts from the "Mechanics" generic product group.

The shortcut keys now also function again in undocked graphical editors.

If the "Manufacturer" (short name) property was used in a tree configuration, it was possible that the manufacturer name (full name) was displayed in the nodes of the parts. This has been corrected.

If new parts were created during the import of externally edited parts data, no values were assigned automatically for the creator and the creation date, in as far as these were not already specified in the import file (for example via the property Creator / Creation date (ID 22902)). This has been corrected.

After the installation of Version 2023 Update2 it was possible under certain conditions that no EPLAN Cloud products and no browser window were displayed when you clicked the EPLAN Cloud tab of the ribbon. This has been corrected.

The button [...] is now available again in the property dialog for piping definition points for the selection of a pipe class in the field of the same name.

If a specific selection was made in the page navigator or in the pre-planning navigator, this was not taken into consideration during the output of labeling data for pre-planning reports. All project data was always output. If a corresponding report type (for example "Pre-planning: Planning object overview") is now selected for the output of labeling data, the selection made is taken into consideration.

If the Variant property was used as a node in a tree configuration, it was possible that not all parts were displayed in the tree anymore. This has been corrected.

During the output of manufacturing data for labeling by means of a write-protected Excel template no reports were generated. This has been corrected.

Deactivating anti-aliasing in case of blurry representation

In the graphical editor some graphical elements were displayed blurred at a scaling of 100% under certain conditions. In order to eliminate the problems during the representation you can deactivate the anti-aliasing performed by default. The new user-specific setting Deactivate anti-aliasing is available to this purpose. (The command path for the dialog Settings: 2D is: File > Settings > User > Graphical editing > 2D.)

If this check box is selected, anti-aliasing is not performed. As a result the graphical elements representation in the graphical editor becomes sharper. For certain graphical elements (such as circles, oblique lines) this can, however, lead to a "pixelated" representation or to so-called "stair steps".

Formatting of connection definition points

As of Version 2023 the Settings: Connection numbering dialog extends the Display tab with the check box Use default. With this check box you specify that the connection designations of the automatically placed connection definition points are formatted in the same way as manually inserted ones. In the past the "Default value (connection)" property arrangement was always assigned to the automatically placed connection definition points in this case. Now the property arrangement is assigned to the connection definition points that you have specified as the default for the used symbol variant of the connection definition point (for example, in the dialog Save property arrangement). This way it is now possible to format manually inserted and automatically placed connection definition points uniformly with a user-defined property arrangement.

Extended replacement texts for project properties

Using the Block property: Replacement text project property, you could previously define up to ten tables for replacement texts (via the index). You can now define up to 100 tables for replacement texts. You can use these tables to replace the values of block properties.

Different improvements have been made for the export in Excel format used for the output of labeling data by means of templates:

• The application of buttons and control elements in Excel files has been improved.
• The filters defined in spreadsheet cells are now applied correctly. Leading zeros for structure identifiers and page names are now also applied correctly.
• The application of graphics, formulas, referenced tables, non-active worksheets, etc. has been improved.
• Properties defined in the header of an Excel template are now supported better.

By default subdirectories are now considered again when searching for outlines during the master data synchronization.

As of Version 2022 there were two rights in the rights management for editing the settings of the parts management. The right "Parts management > Settings: Parts" only applied to a specific callup possibility of the settings dialog and has now been removed. As in the past you can edit the settings using the right "Settings: User > Management+Parts".

During the output of labeling data for the report type "Parts list", different export results occurred for busbar connection points depending on whether the items were marked in the bill of materials navigator or on a schematic page. This has been corrected.

The numbering of the displayed DT after the placement of devices in the layout space has been optimized. As a result the performance while placing has improved.

During the export in the EDZ format the data of the "Manufacturer" record type are now considered again.

If you opened the part selection in the Edit in table view and selected a part that was not yet stored in the project, the dialog flickered. This has been corrected.

The sorting of the list view was lost during the update. This has been corrected.

During the addressing of PLC connection points an unexpected error occurred under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If pages were scrolled in the graphical editor when the graphical preview and the Insert center were open, scrolling took place very slowly. The performance of this action has been improved.

If you had sorted the values according to a column in the Edit in table view, the [Tab] and [Enter] keys then no longer jumped to the expected cells. This has been corrected. With [Tab] the next cell on the right is now selected again and with [Enter] the next cell below.

As of Version 2023 you can specify in the project settings for connections that PE terminals with rail contact are connected automatically. If the Automatically connect PE terminals with rail contact check box was activated and PE function templates, that were not overlapped by any function, existed in the project, problems occurred during the update of the connections. This has been corrected.

If the selection dialog was opened at a part for the properties Manufacturer or Supplier in Version 2023, it was not possible to create a new manufacturer or supplier via the popup menu in this dialog despite the activated setting Modification allowed during selection. This has been corrected.

During the PDF export an unexpected error message occurred under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

It is now possible again to assign a specific part variant to a device via a placeholder object.

If a property text was moved in a model view by using the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [B], the text at the cursor was not visible during moving. This has been corrected.

If externally edited parts data were imported in the parts management, it was previously not possible to create both new main objects (for example parts) and subobjects (for example function templates) simultaneously during an import. The simultaneous creation of main and subobjects is now possible in one step. To this purpose the object ID of main and subobjects must be set to "0". For example, a new function template is created by entering "99/117/0/0 (117/0:99/0)".

With activated object snap it was not possible under certain conditions to snap onto the handle of a device that is already placed. This has been corrected.

The scaling of the texts was not adapted to the display setting of the computer in the dialog Device selection. This has been corrected.

The collision check during the placement of length-variable items did not function correctly. Only after the first length-variable item had been placed and then moved or its length changed, did the collision check react correctly. This has been corrected.

During measuring in the layout space the snap point in the center was not snapped as a measuring point for manually inserted cut-outs. This has been corrected.

If the respective selection dialog is opened in the parts management for stored files (image files, macros, etc.), the current directory of the stored files is now displayed again in this dialog.

In the dialog Property: External documents it was possible that the data were moved into other rows or columns within the dialog during the editing of data or during the migration of parts databases from Version 2.9. This has been corrected.

When using an SQL parts database, marking all entries in the list view by using the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [A] took a relatively long time. The performance of this action has been improved.

Since Version 2023 the insertion point of the respective symbol was erroneously always also included when determining surrounding rectangles ("Bounding boxes") by means of the GetBoundingBox method from the Placement class. This led to undesired results for some graphical elements (such as arcs). This has been corrected.

During the import of Excel templates defined filters for spreadsheet cells were not applied to the new Excel format. Leading zeros for structure identifiers and page names were also not applied. This has been corrected.

For certain project properties, the value can be selected from a self-extending list. If you had opened the value list in the Backstage view of Information for such a project property and then pressed the [Esc] key, EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

When copying and pasting from the editing in a table to Excel, data were lost in Version 2022. This has been corrected.

During the PDF export of project pages with inserted GIF files, unexpected error messages occurred and the image files were not displayed in the output PDF file. GIF files are now converted into PNG files during the PDF export. We recommend that you no longer use GIF files in EPLAN.

The revision data are now displayed correctly again in the revision overview.

When customizing the ribbon you can insert actions into the ribbon that are controlled via a command line. If you had subsequently edited such an entry (for example, changed a parameter in the command line), it was possible that the originally entered tooltip and description were deleted. This has been corrected.

If an SQL Server database was set for the project management, it was possible that no values were displayed for "User supplementary fields" in the project management. This has been corrected.

When using user-defined properties, for which the value is selected from a selection list, the first list entry could not be selected. This now works again.

The interface for the AutomationML export and import of manufacturing data for PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER has been removed from the user interface for Version 2023 Update2 and is now available as an add-on.

During the export of PLC connection point data for external editing not all project languages were output for block properties if the multilingual property of another block property was determined via the block property format. This has been corrected.

If a new filter was created for the bill of materials navigator and a property was selected as a criterion for this filter, the check box for the quick input was subsequently no longer available in the Filter dialog. This has been corrected.

When updating add-ons, an unexpected error message occurred if the add-on contained more than one API add-in. This has been solved.

If a cable duct was selected during the execution of the command Entry point into routing path network, the cancelation of this action by means of [Esc] could result in EPLAN no longer reacting or being terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

During master data editing a symbol can now only be opened again if the associated symbol library has not been exclusively locked by another user.

When creating a filter for a navigator, values that were selected for the filter criterion Mounting site (describing) are now saved again.

If a 3D macro was placed several times on a mounting panel and the format property Transparency was changed at one of these macros in the property dialog, this change was applied to all placed macros. This has been corrected.

If devices with defined mounting clearances were placed on a mounting panel and subsequently hidden when the mounting clearances view was activated, the mounting clearances were still displayed. This has been corrected.

If you edit the properties of several PLC connection points at the same time, it is now possible to change the entries in the fields Address and Symbolic address again in the PLC connection point tab of the property dialog.

If user-defined properties for parts were used as filter criteria in the bill of materials navigator, these did not yield any results. This has been corrected.

If a mounting rail was placed on a mounting panel from right to left or from bottom to top, the alignment of the mounting rails was no longer correct. In this case the mounting rails were placed in opposite directions. If parts were placed on these mounting rails, the parts and their device tags were displayed rotated by 180°. This has been corrected.

If pages were copied in the page navigator and inserted via the clipboard, it was possible that changed page names and page descriptions were not applied in the subsequent dialog Adapt structure. This was the case when switching to the DT tab after the change. This has been corrected.

During the manual net optimization of routing connections the coloring was lost under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

Since Version 2023 Update1 no contents were displayed in China for the EPLAN Cloud tab of the ribbon. This has been corrected.

During the manual translation of texts by means of the popup menu item Translate it was possible under certain conditions that the translated texts contained too many line breaks. This occurred in particular when you specified in the translation settings that texts should be translated word-for-word, and in addition the check box Line breaks: Text-based was activated. This has been corrected.

In comparison to Version 2.9 the pasting of copied elements from the clipboard into the graphical editor could take some time. Pasting from the clipboard now takes place faster.

The display of the grid has been optimized with Version 2023 Update1. At certain screen resolutions this resulted in the grid points being displayed too large. This has been corrected.

Segments of external documents and/or project pages can be assigned in the Documents / Pages tab of the property dialog. If a document was selected here, the name and file path of the document were only displayed after the [Apply] button was clicked. This has been corrected.

When screens with high resolution (for example 4K) were used, problems could occur under certain conditions during the display of icons. This has been corrected.

If the format property Underline is activated for a text in the graphical editor, the underline is now also printed again.

The manual entry of several values separated by semicolons now functions again for the quick input of the filter in the navigators.

If properties with the field type "Bool (True / False)" were used in a tree configuration (for example Part is accessory), it was possible that the sequence of the nodes was exchanged compared to Version 2.9. This has been corrected.

If a PNG image file, in which a pattern was used for the letters, was stored on a project page, this image file was displayed with representation errors. This has been corrected.

In the list of the device selection Selected parts: Functions / templates the correct icons are now displayed again.

In the Backstage view (File > Help > Command group System information) the sign-in name is now always displayed in upper-case letters, even if it was entered in lower-case letters. This is done to ensure harmonization with the rights management.

By importing externally edited parts data, an existing ERP number could be transferred to several parts even though a system message was output. This has been corrected.

If a device, that was placed rotated by 180°, was duplicated with the design mode activated, the duplicated device could have an incorrect rotation after the placement. This has been corrected.

If data for external editing were exported in the Excel format, the width of the cells in the target file was not adapted to the text. This has been corrected.

During the selection of workspaces where the main window extended over several monitors, it was possible that the main window was only displayed on one monitor. This has been corrected.

If a layout space was open, a part marked in the Insert center was not displayed in the graphical preview. This has been corrected.

For large data amounts the search in the parts management could take some time. This now functions faster through optimizations for the manufacturer name and the supplier name.

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 105.3.390. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN Cogineer, etc.).

If several structure boxes were placed as polylines next to each other on a project page, it was possible that structure boxes were erroneously recognized as placed within other structure boxes, depending on the position of the corner points. The device tags of these boxes were then nested accordingly. This has been corrected.

The graphicallayertable action for the export / import and for the import of layers only worked when the layer management was also open. This has been corrected.

Under certain conditions, shortcut keys could not be executed or reassigned. This has been corrected.

During a restart of EPLAN it was possible that the position and/or the width of dialogs changed for a workspace. This has been corrected.

The performance has been improved for the Info tab of the parts management when using an SQL parts database.

If the elements were combined into a block during the creation of macros for the 2D panel layout, used image files (for example *.JPG or *.PNG) were not embedded in the macro. This has been corrected.

In the cable navigator the list view can now be sorted again by double-clicking one of the column headers.

If you wanted to generate a part from a device in a macro project and had previously changed the macro name entered at the device, the new macro name was not transferred to the part. This now works again.

Under certain conditions, shortcut keys could not be executed or reassigned. This has been corrected.

When the part selection was opened, a part stored in the Parts tab was not marked under specific conditions if the combination view was selected for the part selection. This has been corrected.

The display of the grid has been optimized for high-resolution monitors.

In the dialog Configure property arrangements, it was previously not possible to select a node in the tree view and to export or delete the property arrangements located under this node. This is now possible.

Under certain conditions, lines, connection elements and symbols were blurry in the graphical editor. The sharpness of their display in the graphical editor depends on the monitor size in connection with the set screen resolution and the scaling in the Windows settings.

The change in this update achieves improvements when using a scaling of greater than 100%.

When customizing the ribbon, different texts were sometimes displayed for the same commands in the Customize dialog. The headers of the tooltips were shown for the available commands below the Select commands drop-down list and the displayed names were shown for the assigned commands in the Main tabs field. Uniform texts are now displayed in the two fields. For each command, the displayed name is shown here. This is also displayed later below the configured button. As a result of this change, identical texts are now displayed for some commands in the Select commands drop-down list. To differentiate between these commands, please look at the tooltips, which appear when you move the mouse pointer over the corresponding entry.

The graphicallayertable action for the export / import and for the import of layers only worked when the layer management was also open. This has been corrected.

Under certain circumstances, navigation through the tree view was slowed down considerably, in particular if there was a very high number of parts and parallel entries of parts in several tree structures. This has been corrected.

During multiple placement from the 3D mounting layout navigator onto a mounting rail, the devices were not arranged correctly. This has been corrected.

If you worked with an undocked graphical editor and synchronized master data, EPLAN was unexpectedly terminated under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

Under certain circumstances template files in Excel format that contained images could not be transferred correctly into a new Excel file during export. Furthermore, an error message appeared when an attempt was made to output the path function texts of the entire project. Both errors have been corrected.

An empty selection dialog was displayed for the Pipe class property in the parts management. This dialog is no longer needed and has therefore been removed.

When outputting manufacturing data for labeling using an Excel template it was possible in individual cases that an applied formula in the Excel file was not applied correctly anymore as of a specific row. This has been corrected.

If a part with user-defined properties was imported and a user-defined property had the field type “Bool", the entry "[No value set]" was displayed for the value of this property next to the check box. This has been corrected.

Renaming structure identifiers in structure identifier management took a long time if certain pre-planning objects existed in the project. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined structure was renamed in the structure identifier management, problems occurred when updating the identifiers in the project. This has been corrected.

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 105.3.390. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN Cogineer, etc.).

The associated layout space could no longer be opened via the popup menu item Open 3D view of a model view. This behavior also occurred at 2D drilling views and copper unfolds and has now been corrected.

If a project that was created with an older EPLAN version was opened in Version 2023, all model views were marked as not up-to-date. This has been corrected.

During external editing in Excel format it is optionally possible to specify whether the column designation is to be output as well. If this option was selected and no template was used during the export, the column designation was not included in the output. This has been corrected.

In the cable navigator the list view can now be sorted again by double-clicking one of the column headers.

The mounting clearances of a device were not displayed during the placement and were only visible after the item was placed on the mounting surface. This has been corrected. The mounting clearances are now displayed again as soon as the mounting surface is active.

Various improvements have been made for the export in Excel format by means of templates (for example during the output of manufacturing data for labeling or during external editing):

• The transfer of image files, colors, Excel macros and Visual Basic scripts has been improved.
• For areas with area names, the size of the areas is now adjusted to the generated rows.
• Tables are now transferred and pivot tables that reference tables now function.
• The formatting of tables and table cells defined in the template, such as filters, notes, conditional formatting, etc., is now applied correctly.
• References in formulas are now supported better.

In the parts management and in the part master data navigator of Version 2022 no values could be entered or selected for the "Record type" filter criterion in the Filter dialog. This has been corrected. Since the filter is only valid for parts, only the values "Component", "Assembly" and/or "Module" could be selected using a subsequent dialog.

If - while translating a text - you have selected a text in the dialog Multilingual input and open the dictionary using the [Dictionary] button, this text is now automatically entered in the Find field.

After synchronization with the EPLAN Harness proD Library an SQL parts database of the EPLAN platform could under certain conditions not be synchronized anymore via the action PamArticlesSyncAction with a parts database of Version 2.9. This has been corrected.

During data exchange between EPLAN Electric P8 and EPLAN Harness proD the property Function text (ID 20011) is now also taken into consideration. The exchange file for the export and import of wire harness data (*.hpdex) has been extended accordingly.

In the layout space navigator you can edit the legend item via the corresponding popup menu item. If you had sorted the displayed data in the dialog Edit legend item by double-clicking a column, it was then no longer possible to move a line with the arrow buttons. This now works again.

If a different filter was selected in the dialog Settings: Messages and checks for a check run in the Filter column using the […] button, it was only displayed after the dialog was updated with the [F5] key. This has been corrected.

If the GetProjectDataCompatibility method from the ProjectManager class was applied to projects of Version 2.9, an exception was output under specific circumstances. This has been corrected.

If the connections of several layout spaces were routed at the same time, a faulty routing of the connections could occur. This has been corrected.

If the Active check box for the handle was activated or deactivated in the property dialog for macro boxes in the Settings tab, this could result in EPLAN being terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If you enter translation texts manually in the Multilingual input dialog and then use the Dictionary button to open the Dictionary dialog, it is now possible again to transfer the entered translation texts immediately into the dictionary by using the Save button.

Extensions for the Insert Center

In the improved information area of the Insert center the most important properties for all preview tiles contained in the preview are displayed by row in a configured table. Depending on the object type in the selected preview tile the table columns show different properties. With the popup menu item Configure representation you can show further properties and determine the display sequence of the properties.

Renamed dialog for customizing the ribbon

The Rename dialog which you use to change the names of commands, user-defined command groups, etc. while customizing or which you can use to assign an image file to commands and actions has been changed from Rename to Edit. The associated button and corresponding popup menu item are also renamed.

"Customize" dialog has been extended with commands of the EPLAN Cloud products

The commands of the EPLAN Cloud products are now also available in the Customize dialog. They can be assigned to user-defined command groups during customization of the ribbon.

The selection of commands for quick access has been extended with "All commands"

When customizing the quick access toolbar the "All commands" entry is now also available in the Quick access tab of the Customize dialog in the drop-down list Tabs. When this entry is selected, all commands of the ribbon which are available for quick access are displayed in the field below.

Property preview for projects in the Backstage view

Apart from the recently opened projects, a property preview is now also shown in the Backstage view Open. For the project marked in the list the values of some project properties such as Project description, Company name, Last editor etc. are displayed there. In the property preview the same information is displayed as in the preview window of the Windows Explorer.

Extension of the Tooltips for properties

The display of the Tooltip has been extended for the properties in the property tables. In addition to the property name, a property description is now also displayed.

Improved insertion via drag & drop from the list views and tables

To drag a function via drag & drop from the List view of a navigator into the graphical editor, it was necessary in Version 2022 to position the cursor exactly on the frame of the marked row. Otherwise the function could not be dragged. This has been improved. If a row is marked, the cursor for the drag & drop can now be positioned everywhere in the marked row. If a table such as in the part master data navigator or in the Insert center is write-protected, the entire row instead of the individual cells is marked.

Since the information area of the Insert center is now designed as a table, an object (macro, symbol, etc.) can be marked there with a click on the line and dragged directly via drag & drop into the graphical editor.

Improved usage of the keyboard in tables

You start the processing mode in a table cell by double-clicking or with the [F2] button. If you then press the [Enter] key, the cursor jumps to the next cell downwards and not to the right. This behavior enables faster editing of values within a column in the list views of the navigators and in tables (for example when editing in tables).

Consideration of Company Standards and Standards for Schematic Macros

Internal Database Format Replaces Access Databases

In the course of a modified database technology the old Access databases (*.mdb) were already replaced for Version 2022 in the Parts management by an internal EPLAN format. This replacement is now been continued in the entire EPLAN Platform. Therefore a new internal database format (*.db) is available instead of the Access databases for the Project management (project management database) and for the Dictionary (foreign language database).

New Excel interface

For the current version the Excel interface in the EPLAN platform has been replaced. Nothing has changed for the actual export and import of data by means of this format. In comparison to older EPLAN versions, minor visual differences may occur if special technologies such as, for example, rule-based formatting or free illustration from MS Excel are used in the Excel templates used. The Excel file format *.xlsb is not supported anymore.

Summarized Display for External Documents

Parts pre-filtering has been extended with product group and trade properties

The parts pre-filtering can be used to pre-filter the parts of the parts management, of the part master data navigator, of the part and device selection and the devices of the Insert center on the basis of specific properties. The properties Generic product group, Product group and the properties for the trades (for example the Trade 'Electrical engineering') are now available as further filter criteria in the criteria selection of the associated settings dialog Settings: Parts pre-filtering. This way, for example, it is possible to only display devices from the generic product group "Mechanics" in the Insert center for the engineer of the mechanical elements. (The command path for the settings dialog is: Options > Settings > User > Management > Parts pre-filtering.)

Same technology as during the search in the Insert Center

The technologies during the search in the parts management and in the Insert center have been merged. When entering search terms in the Find field of the parts management, you can now use the same operators and placeholder characters as during the search in the Insert center.

During this search only the most important part properties are now considered by default, such as part number, type number, manufacturer, etc. If you enter a "p" before the search term (for example p:motor), the search is again carried out for all properties. In this case, however, the search takes longer.

Improved performance when opening parts management and Insert center

If, for example, the last graphical editor or the parts management has been closed, the parts databases and the macro collection are not directly closed now but remain open for one more minute. If one of these databases is accessed again during this time, it does not have to be opened again. As a result, reopening of the parts management and the Insert center takes place much faster.

Improved import of externally edited parts data with user-defined properties

In the past the XML import of externally edited parts data with user-defined properties only functioned when the user-defined properties were already previously assigned to a part. It was not possible to use the import to assign user-defined properties of another part (for example by changing the part number in external editing). Now during an XML import of externally edited parts data the user-defined properties are automatically assigned to the parts to which they are assigned in the import file. Through this change it is now possible to transfer old, free properties in the external editing into user-defined properties and then import them again.

Highlighting of changed pages when numbering pages

When numbering pages in the dialog Number pages: Preview of result in the Target table, the table cells that would change in contrast to the original when numbering are now highlighted with a yellow background. This affects both the page names as well as the structure identifiers.

Shortcut keys with [Shift] for ungrouping possible

If you previously wanted to assign your own shortcut key for the command "Ungroup", it was not possible that this shortcut key included the key [Shift]. This key is used in the EPLAN Platform to deactivate the grouping briefly. In the dialog Customize shortcut keys you can now also use shortcut keys such as, for example [Shift] + [G], to ungroup. Depending on the tab opened in the ribbon, ungrouping also sometimes did not function via shortcut keys. This has been corrected.

Exporting graphical connections via action using external editing

Graphical connections were only output under specific conditions during the export of connections via external editing. Such connections are not exported anymore in the future using the user interface of the external editing. So that the export of connections with the representation type "Graphic" via external editing remains possible the associated action XMExportConnectionsAction has been extended with the new parameter IncludeGraphicalConnections. The value of this parameter must be "1" for the export of graphical connections.

Renamed setting for completion of pages

In the Description of page modification dialog the setting Generate report when completing pages has been renamed into Update when completing pages. With this setting the selected report pages are updated and the reports are not generated. (A possible command path for this setting is: File > Revision control > Command group Modifications > Change tracking > Complete pages.)

Output of information on the wire harness in a connection list

When outputting a connection list for wire harnesses you can now also output information on the wire harness and its parts. To this purpose you have to adjust the forms for the connection list (*.f27) accordingly. For the placement of corresponding placeholder texts in the forms, the dialog Placeholder texts - connection list has been extended with the new elements Wire harness, Wire harness part reference and Wire harness part.

Improved copying in placeholder objects

When you edit the properties of placeholder objects in the Placeholder object tab of the property dialog you can now insert copied values from other table cells (for example the names of properties) into the Variable column again. The values inserted this way are now automatically supplemented with angle brackets (<>) and a variable with this name is generated. This behavior applies for all field types with the exception of multilingual fields. No angle brackets are added in multilingual fields.

Improved Dialog "Edit cable"

With this version the dialog Edit cable has been revised and improved. In the new dialog Edit cable you can now – in addition to assigning the cable connections to the function templates of the cable part – also view and edit the device-specific properties of a cable. To this purpose the information on the cable and cable connections are clearly displayed in two tables arranged on top of each other. Similar to the dialog Edit terminal strip specific information is now graphically visualized in separate columns, for example connection color, shields or pair index.

Moving PLC Inputs and Outputs

In the past, if you wanted to assign several configured PLC connection points to other physical PLC connection points of the PLC device, meaning that you wanted to "move" the PLC connection points, you had to call up the property dialog for each individual PLC connection point and change the respective properties (such as Plug designation, Connection point designation, PLC address). As of this version the new dialog Move PLC inputs and outputs in which you can perform such moving actions from a central point is now available in the ribbon.

PLC data exchange is possible for different PLC manufacturers in AutomationML format. Different variants exist in the AutomationML format depending on the respective usage. The "Application Recommendation Automation Project Configuration" (short: "AR APC") variant is used for the PLC data exchange. Network properties are only still visible at bus ports

Since Version 2022 the following network properties can only be edited at bus ports:
Physical network: Bus ID / item number (ID 20311),
Physical network: Bus ID / item number 2 (ID 20386),
Physical network: Name (ID 20413),
Subnet mask (ID 20446),
Bus system (ID 20308).
These properties were initially still available at PLC boxes and were there displayed grayed out. As of this version the network properties at the PLC boxes are not displayed anymore.

The input of the configuration project at bus ports has been moved to property table

At bus ports the input of a configuration project is usually not required since this is automatically determined by the associated PLC box. For this reason the Configuration project field in the Bus data tab of the property dialog has been removed. To enter a configuration project deviating from the PLC box, the Configuration project (at PLC boxes and bus ports) property is instead available in the group box Properties of the network interface.

Renamed property "TemplateIdentifier"

To prevent confusion with the property PLC station: TemplateIdentifier, the TemplateIdentifier property has been renamed to PLC device: TemplateIdentifier. These properties can be used for the exchange of device-specific configuration values during the PLC data exchange in AutomationML AR APC format.

Displaying the representation type in the dialog "Use existing PLC connection points blockwise"

In the dialog Use existing PLC connection points blockwise, the representation type could previously only be displayed in the To table in the left area of the dialog. This table displays the selected, placed PLC boxes and connection points. Now the representation type can also be shown in the From table in the right area of the dialog as an additional column. This table shows the PLC boxes and connection points that you selected for re-use.

Properties no longer required for rack

The following properties were only required for the PLC data exchange via the outdated "Rockwell Studio 5000 Architect 20/21" interface:
Sort code (for position in rack) (ID 20258),
Number of positions in the rack (ID 20259),
Number of positions in the rack (to the left) (ID 20260).
Since this interface is not supported anymore and the PLC data exchange has been changed to the new AutomationML standard, these properties are not required anymore and should not be used anymore. For this reason the properties are now identified with the supplement "(not available anymore)". At PLC boxes these properties are only available in the PLC structure data tab for reasons of compatibility to previous EPLAN versions and are displayed grayed-out there.

Extended Settings for the Connection Numbering

The Settings: Connection numbering dialog has been extended with a filter for the potential type for this version. In addition, you now have the possibility to format the automatically placed connection definition points in accordance with the default property arrangement for manually inserted connection definition points. (A possible command path to this dialog is: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Connections > Connection numbering.)

New setting for the potential extension between PE terminals with rail contact

In the project settings the dialog Settings: General (for connections) has been extended with the setting Automatically connect PE terminals with rail contact (Command path: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Connections > General). If this check box is activated, the potential between terminals with the function definitions "PE terminal with rail contact, x connection points" (whereby x = 1 ... 9) is automatically extended within a terminal strip. To this purpose the terminals are connected automatically with internal jumpers on the terminal strip according to their sequence.

Using the user-defined property arrangement as the default for cable connections

When saving a user-defined property arrangement for connection definition points you can specify that this is to be used as the default for cable connections. During the generation and placement of the connection definition points for cable connections, the property arrangement specified in this manner was, however, not used. Instead, the property arrangement was used that was specified as the default for "normal" connections. This has been corrected.

In the course of this correction the check box Default for cable connections has been added to the dialog Configure property arrangements - <Project name>. This check box is only available for connection definition points. Through this extension you can now also specify a property arrangement as the default for cable connections at a central point.

Renamed popup menu item in the dialog "Edit terminal strip"

The popup menu item Alignable accessories following in the dialog Edit terminal strip was misleading and has therefore been renamed to Enter alignable accessories at upper main terminal. With this popup menu item you specify at which main terminal the part of the alignable accessories is entered.

Removed animation when switching a 3D viewpoint

The animated rotation when switching a 3D viewpoint has been removed. The 3D view is now switched without movement. In the course of this change the user setting Rotate when changing the viewpoints which has become superfluous has been removed.

Changed character set coding of the export file

During the export of wire fabrication data in the "Steinhauer - PWA" format the character set coding of the export file has now been changed for all languages from "ANSI" to "Unicode". The conversion as of Version V4 is supported by the machine software "PWAControl".

Extended settings for the export as scheme technology

For this version the interface to the manufacturing planning and control program Rittal - RiPanel Processing Center has been extended in such a way that the settings for the export are now saved as a company-specific scheme. To this purpose the dialog Export: Rittal - RiPanel Processing Center has been extended with the drop-down list Scheme and further fields (Command path File > Export > Command group Manufacturing data > Machining > Rittal - RiPanel Processing Center). In the settings to which you branch with the […] button you can now also make specifications on the file names and the subdirectories in addition to the output directory - as is usual with other export dialogs.

Extension of the export data with connection properties

As an extension for the export of wiring data for EPLAN Smart Wiring the values of the four connection properties Connection dimension source (ID 31096), Connection dimension target (ID 31097), Source: stripping length (ID 31055) and Target: stripping length (ID 31056) are now exported additionally.

New setting for the consideration of placeholder objects in the pre-planning

In pre-planning placeholder objects are used in the macros to vary the data during the generation of schematics or on the generated schematic pages. The new check box Consider placeholder object in the pre-planning is now available in the property dialog of the placeholder objects in the Settings tab so that you can control the behavior of placeholder objects in pre-planning.

Removed data transfer from EPLAN PPE

After the menu items for transferring EPLAN PPE projects were already removed for Version 2.7 this data transfer has now been irretrievably removed from the EPLAN Platform. An automatic data transfer of PPE projects does not take place anymore now and PPE projects can also not be opened in the EPLAN Platform anymore.

PLC data exchange in the "EPLAN Education for Classroom" license

The export of PLC configuration files in the AutomationML format is now possible in the "EPLAN Education for Classroom" license for Version 2023. The import of PLC configurations files in the formats supported by the EPLAN Platform is now possible again.

New parameter of the "renumber" action to restrict the scope of numbering

If you use the action renumber to number devices (renumber /TYPE:DEVICES), you can now also limit the scope of numbering by specifying an existing filter scheme via the new parameter FILTERSCHEME.

Filter for part properties during parts export

The action partsmanagementapi has been extended with the two parameters PROPERTYIDn and PROPERTYVALUEn so that you can filter the parts to be exported according to the values of the part properties. By specifying the parameters multiple times, all parts are exported for which the properties specified via the property numbers contain the specified values (for example /PROPERTYID1:22007 /PROPERTYVALUE1:<Value1>, /PROPERTYID2:22007 /PROPERTYVALUE2:<Value2>).

New method for removing image files when customizing the ribbon

The new method RemoveIcon from the class RibbonBar can be used to remove user-defined image files again which were used while customizing the ribbon.

New properties for the currencies stored in the settings of the parts database

By means of the new properties Currency_1 and Currency_2 from the class MDPartsDatabase it is now possible to query and specify the currencies stored in the settings of the parts database.

New action for the AML export to "RiPanel Processing Center"

By means of the new action XAMlExportProductionData2RASCenterAction it is now possible via EPLAN API to export manufacturing data in AutomationML format for the "Rittal - RiPanel Processing Center".

New parameters for the "generatemacros" action for the preparation of macros

The generatemacros action has been extended. With the new parameter value /TYPE:PREPARE and the parameters GroupMacroBoxes, GroupPageMacros and SetHandleActive you can now execute the functionality Prepare macros for automatic generation for macro projects from the user interface via a command line call, using a script or the EPLAN API. If the value GENERATE (or nothing) is specified for the new parameter /TYPE, the macros are generated as before.

If the selection of a group was determined, not all objects in the group were locked. This has been corrected.

When backing up completed projects it was possible that users were not deregistered from the list of active users and thus listed several times in the dialog Show user. This has been corrected.

If a complete terminal strip was to be placed on the mounting panel of a panel layout page, it was possible that the terminals could not be placed. If the terminals were selected individually, the terminals could be placed correctly. This has been corrected.

The import of data from external editing into the *txt format resulted in specific data of terminal strips being lost. This has been corrected.

If pages were copied in the page navigator and inserted using the Clipboard, it was possible in the subsequent dialog Adapt structure that the structure identifiers were not reset to the original value via the [Reset] button in those cases where the output pages have empty structure identifiers. This has been corrected.

When numbering conduit packages the conduit definition was numbered correctly, but the associated hose lines retained the original numbering if the device tags were not unique before numbering. This has been corrected.

If the sub-identifiers of functions were changed in the Adapt structure dialog, it was possible that these sub-identifiers were generated as main identifiers and were displayed in the structure identifier management accordingly. This has been corrected.

For free texts in placeholder objects you now also have the Angle property available in the Assignment tab during property selection.

If a filter was activated for an additional navigator (for example a page navigator), this also influenced the default navigator. As a result, for example, scrolling using the keys did not work anymore in the "normal" page navigator. This has been corrected. The additional navigators now have their own filters, own tree and own list configuration.

When inserting modules, problems occurred with the display of subordinate function templates when the respective module was inserted into a structure box. This has been corrected.

If a property arrangement with a user-defined property was imported into a target project using the functionality Synchronize project data, the user-defined property was displayed as an "Invalid property" after selection of the property arrangement at the function even though the user-defined property already existed in the target project. This has been corrected.

An inserted QR code can now be changed by means of placeholder objects by using the property Block property: Format.

If sub-identifiers were moved upwards in the sequence in the structure identifier management so that they preceded their superior structure identifiers in the sorting, a faulty display in the page navigator occurred after updating the project. Project pages with structure identifiers that were located below the sub-identifier after moving were no longer displayed in the page navigator. This has been corrected.

For the output of the structure identifier overview the properties Structure description Supplementary field (ID 1009), Structure description 2 (ID 1007) and Structure description 3 (ID 1008) are now additionally available as filter criteria.

If the coordinates of the surrounding rectangle of a symbol in the schematic were determined via EPLAN API using the method GetBoundingBox from the Placement class, then an exception occurred under specific conditions with this method for symbols without graphic. This has been corrected. In this case the coordinates of the insertion point are returned.

During a device selection using the XPamsDeviceSelectionAction action it was possible that the connection data was not updated depending on the selection made. This has been corrected.

For parts that were entered with a number of units greater than 1 at the planning object in the pre-planning and that were also assigned to the associated main functions in the detailed planning, the incorrect quantities were output under specific conditions in part assemblies such as parts list, summarized parts list, etc. This has been corrected.

If multiple objects were selected in the list of a navigator (for example the connection navigator) and these objects were then sorted by double-clicking a column header, the previously specified selection was not retained. This has been corrected.

The check message 007014 is now not output anymore at a distributed placement of distributed terminals with the same representation type.

In tabular editing the properties Connection: Length with unit (ID 31003), Wire termination processing source (ID 31051), Wire termination processing target (ID 31052), Source: Stripping length (ID 31055) and Target: Stripping length (ID 31056) are now also available for the column configuration. In addition these properties can be selected in the connection and cable navigator during the configuration of the representation of tree and list and are available as filter criteria in the connection navigator.

When generating reports of distributed terminals that were located on different pages, it was possible that the terminal diagram only displayed the correct result after the report page had been updated. This has been corrected.

If page properties of a high number of pages were edited simultaneously, this could take a certain time. Saving the page properties now takes place faster.

When creating the detail planning, the description of segments should be transferred to the generated pages by means of placeholder objects. The format element used in the value set could previously not transfer the special characters "{}" existing in the segment description. This has been corrected.

When placing a PLC address the values for the property Symbolic address (single component) were not transferred from the superior structure segment to the PCT loop. This has been corrected.

During the offline numbering of mechanical items an incorrectly displayed DT was assigned to the mounting surfaces of busbar supports. This has been corrected.

During the import of device data it was possible that enclosures were created correctly, but the associated accessories were assigned to the wrong device tag. This has been corrected.

Device data can now be imported again by means of the method ImportDevicesText from the class DeviceService. In the user interface this corresponds to the behavior of the following commands: Tab Devices > Command group Devices > Drop-down button Navigator > Import.

If EPLAN was used with a Korean user interface, specific effects (such as a jumping cursor) could occur during text inputs in Korean when using the [Tab] key. This has been corrected.

In placeholder objects which contain PCT loops or PCT loop functions, variables could previously also be selected for the properties PCT type, Implementation and Activation site and specific values for the graphical display could be selected for these variables on the Values tab (such as for example, "General - Measuring station" for the "PCT type"). However, if a value set was selected at a later point for the affected placeholder object, the graphical representation of the PCT loop or the PCT loop function in the P&I diagram did not change. This has been corrected.

In the Value field of the page navigator the filter with the quick input did not function on user-defined structures if the "#" character was used in the search term. This was, for example, the case when user-defined structures with substructures were selected with a click on [...] in the subsequent dialog. This has been corrected.

In the tree view of the placeholder object navigator only non-placed placeholder objects could be deleted by using the [Del] key in the past. Now all placeholder objects can be deleted by means of this key.

If cable parts were stored at planning objects in the pre-planning, it was not possible to output the total cable length for these cable parts in the summarized parts list. This has been corrected.

Despite an activated setting Change symbol if function differs, the symbol was not changed during a device selection when a part with a different function definition was selected in an accessory list. This has been corrected.

The values of the properties Number of pages per property (ID 11062), Page names per property (ID 11063) and Page counter per property (ID 11064) can now be changed in the dialog Page properties and via the external editing and can also be deleted accordingly.

While copying and pasting terminals in structure boxes, problems with the numbering of the terminals occurred under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

When the properties were edited at the master data (forms, plot frames or outlines) the original directory path was not considered when saving the modifications. Instead the file was always saved in the master data directory. This has been corrected.

When outputting labeling data for the report type "Parts list", it was possible under specific conditions that incorrect values were output when using user-defined properties as format elements for the calculation. This has been corrected.

If all saved data backup directories were removed by means a project compression for a project which had already been saved once, entries subsequently still existed in the Data backup: Backup directory property. This has been corrected.

When using a filter scheme for the numbering of devices it was determined that the auxiliary function of a cable was numbered even though the filter scheme should have actually prevented this. The cause for this was the connection definition points of the cable that were taken into consideration as main functions during numbering. In the future, connection definition points that have a superior object (cable, conduit, etc.) are no longer handled separately when numbering, but the numbering depends on the superior object.

If the part was selected instead of the main function when placing a device from the device navigator, it was possible that the wrong symbol was placed. This has been corrected.

While restructuring the list view for navigators in tables with partially editable cells the rights management was not taken into consideration. In the rights management the "Device navigator [dialog]" right from the topic area "Graphical editor / Navigator" was extended to the list views of all navigators and renamed to "Property editing in navigators" for this reason. The page navigator and the navigators in the pre-planning are not controlled via this right, since own rights are already available for these navigators.

If a terminal strip with very many terminals was placed on the mounting panel of a panel layout page, this process could take some time. This now takes place faster.

When calling the PDF export via the "PdfPages" method from the "Export" class in an API offline program, the color having the color number 8 was not correctly inverted. This has been corrected.

If more than 129 property arrangements were created for a symbol variant, the saving of these property arrangements did not function correctly. This has been corrected.

If an assembly was assigned to a planning object in the pre-planning, the broken-up parts of the assembly were calculated incorrectly during the output of the parts list. This has been corrected.

If a project was opened on a computer in multi-user operation and simultaneously closed on a different computer, this lead to the message that the data of the project has to be checked when the project was opened again. This has been corrected.

When generating macros from a macro project by means of the action generatemacros, page macros were written into the wrong target directory under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

During the automatic export of page macros from macro projects by means of the action generatemacros the parameter PAGEMACRODIR was not correctly evaluated. This has been corrected.

If a part was selected in the property dialog of a connection in the Part tab, this part was not transferred to the associated connection definition point under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

In the tables of the user interface (such as property tables) it is now possible again to perform multiple selections for columns of a table and adjust the width of all selected columns by using the column separator at the right edge of a column.

If a cut-out legend was output for 2D drilling views, it was possible with manually inserted cut-outs that no values were displayed for the legend items and/or for the coordinates in the cut-out legend. This has been corrected.

During the import of externally edited parts data by means of the action XMImportDCArticleDataAction, a dialog with the number of added parts was previously shown until the action was completed. This dialog can now be suppressed by setting the new, optional parameter SHOWIMPORTMESSAGES to the value "0".

A multilingual text was assigned to a path function text using a placeholder object. This text was displayed not only in the selected displayed language but rather in all project languages. This has been corrected.

Depending on the numbering format selected for the functions of a macro, the visible device tag of a contact was displayed or not. This has been corrected. The calculation of the displayed DT has been optimized in such a way that the structure in the numbering format of the macro no longer plays any role.

If a wire duct with outline was placed, the item labeling subsequently showed an incorrect alignment under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

A placeholder object with a high number of value sets could not be opened. This has been corrected. Because of changed basic technologies we recommend distributing placeholder objects with a high number of value sets (> 1000) on several placeholder objects.

The property Deactivated I/O connection point (ID 20438) is now available both in the filter of the PLC navigator as a filter criterion and in the report and labeling filters for the report type "PLC diagram".

Problems could occur during the output of labeling data if user-defined properties were used in the schemes for the export. This has been corrected. Older schemes with user-defined properties, however, may have to be created again.

If an assembly with activated setting Distributed placement of assembly was placed in the layout space, the action was terminated after the first placement process. This has been corrected.

In the Customize shortcut keys dialog the shortcut keys (for example [Ins] for "Insert symbol") assigned for the commands of the insert center were not displayed and could be assigned to other commands. If this new assignment was removed, the shortcut key for the original command did not work anymore. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined property with the field type "Bool" was entered in a form for the form property Regenerate header after change, no new data header area was generated on the output report page (for example in the table of contents) if the value of this user-defined property changed. This has been corrected.

The Layout space description (ID 20235) property could be edited in tabular editing. However, the modifications were not applied. Since editing this property only makes sense at the layout space itself, the property can now no longer be edited in tabular editing.

The performance for switching between tree and list views has been improved for large data amounts for the parts management.

If a grouped macro with placeholder object was deleted in a layout space, the placeholder object remained in the layout space navigator. This has been corrected.

If the Connection point logic dialog is opened for several selected functions, the character string <<…>> is displayed for properties which have different values at the functions. Such entries could not be changed immediately to a different common value. This has been corrected.

In contrast to the property dialog and the property overview, the individual connection point descriptions of the property Connection point description (all) were previously separated in the tabular editing dialog by semicolons and not by paragraph marks. This has been corrected.

In the model view of a terminal box inclined by 45° the horizontal dimension help line of an automatic dimensioning did not end at the hierarchically highest item despite the setting Up to the hierarchically highest item. This has been corrected.

If model views are generated using the templates in the tab by the same name of the Model views dialog, the report pages were generated in the same sequence as the templates are sorted. When reporting a project using the command Generate project reports, the pages with the model views were output in a different sequence, however. This has been corrected.

In the property dialogs of devices, pages, etc., the Paste properties / values popup menu item is now available again in the respective property table. In addition this popup menu item is now also available in the Property overview dialog and in the Properties tab of the parts management. By means of this functionality you can paste one or several properties, including their values, that have been copied from another object.

In the device navigator it was not possible to filter for the value of a user-defined property which was defined as a part reference property with multilingual selection list. This has been corrected.

If a part which was assigned to a connection was deleted in the bill of materials navigator, the part in the property dialog of the associated connection definition point still existed and was displayed again in the bill of materials navigator after the connections for the entire project had been updated. This has been corrected.

In Version 2022 it was possible under certain conditions that no scheme could be assigned with the method AssignConfigurablePropertiesScheme from the class MDPart. This has been corrected.

So that the default shortcut keys can also be executed and operated with an English keyboard the shortcut keys for the command Generate project reports have been changed from [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [<] to [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [,] and for the command Update reports from [Ctrl] + [<] to [Ctrl] + [,].

If product aspects were used for structuring and the structuring had more than two hierarchy levels, sometimes not all part placements were displayed in the tree view of the 3D mounting layout navigator. This has been corrected.

If a part with the same variant was added multiple times via the EPLAN API by means of the method AddPart from the class MDPartsDatabase this lead to the parts database having the part with the same variant multiple times. This has been corrected. Now a part variant can only be added once via EPLAN API.

Up to now it was not possible to set the representation type of a function to the value "Not defined" by means of the property ManualPlacementType from the class Function. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined scheme was selected for the tree configuration in the settings for the parts management in Version 2022, the parts management first had to be closed and reopened so that the new tree configuration could be applied. This has been corrected.

During the DXF export of a symbol which was output as a block, the further placements of the symbol in the DXF file was displayed incompletely. This has been corrected.

During a PDF export documents which are linked with the project and which are located in the project document directory (<Project_Name>\DOC) are also copied in the output directory. If the documents are modified, they were not updated in the same output directory during a repeated PDF export. This has been corrected.

When assigning a scheme for free properties at a part using the "AssignFreePropertiesScheme" method from the class "MDPart", an exception was output under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If a command was found using the "Tell me what you want to do?" search field in the ribbon which only had subordinate points, the subordinate points could be executed, but not the command itself. This occurred, for example, when Routing connections in the layout space and has now been resolved.

An error message occurred under certain conditions during the creation of a layout space by means of the "Create" method from the "InstallationSpace" class. This has been corrected.

If a user-defined tree configuration with specific properties was set for the parts management, only the first respective part of the specific main node was displayed in the breadcrumb trail of the Insert center at devices for these properties. This has been corrected.

When starting EPLAN by means of command line parameters, the parameter "/User" now also takes into account the setting for the user interface design.

The display property Zero as blank could not always be activated as normal for properties with numerical values in the property arrangements. This has been corrected.

If the routing track - while routing connections - only covered two routing paths, this could result in routing connections which went to the point of origin of the layout space and back. This has been corrected.

For drill holes which were inserted manually on an item without DT, no X- and Y coordinates were displayed in the associated cut-out legend. This has been corrected.

If the properties of an object were changed in the tree view of a navigator, this could lead to the cursor in the tree jumping to the last changed object and the tree view changing accordingly. This has been corrected.

The parts could not be filtered for function definitions in the parts management of Version 2022. If the filter criterion Function template in the part / function definition (or a similar criterion) was set in the Filter dialog, the [...] button in the Value column did not function. This has been corrected.

When updating a filed-off subproject, an unexpected error message could occur and the pages in the updated original project were subsequently not write-protected anymore. This has been corrected.

If special characters such as accent marks were entered in the ribbon in the "Tell me what you want to do?" search field, these were not correctly displayed in some languages. This has been corrected.

If a search for parts was carried out in the Insert center which have no variant with the variant designation "1", no part was found even though such a part was available in the parts management. This has been corrected.

The macro variants of macros were displayed multiple times in the Insert center under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If a filter is activated for the parts pre-filtering, this is now displayed again in the title bar of the parts management and similar dialogs (with a percentage sign "%" in front of the name of the parts database).

An unexpected error message occurred when copying and pasting piping interruptions on P&I diagram pages. This has been corrected.

When a page is opened, the connections are updated. In projects which contain many shields this procedure could take some time. This now functions faster for the connection update thanks to optimizations.

When synchronizing functions (Tab Tools > Command group Synchronization > Drop-down button Functions > Multi-line --> all representation types) the property Symbolic address: Group (ID 20610) was not considered. This now works.

If a page on which a placeholder object is located was not changed through the placeholder object when assigning a value set, it was possible that no other pages were changed either through the placeholder object. This has been corrected.

When exporting a user-defined ribbon it could happen that commands were exported multiple times. This has been corrected.

When browsing project pages in the page navigator (for example by using the keyboard or by means of a double-click) it was possible that the crosshair in the graphical editor was only visible again after a movement with the mouse. This has been corrected.

If a scheme with user-defined properties is assigned to a part in the parts management, the values of previously assigned user-defined properties are now not overwritten anymore by the values from the scheme.

During the export of wire fabrication data in the "Steinhauer - PWA" format an incomplete export file was output when a Russian user interface was used. This has been corrected.

If windows of EPLAN Cloud products were undocked and closed later, this could result in other EPLAN Cloud products not being opened again. This has been corrected.

In Version 2022 it was possible using the rights management to prevent the call-up of the EPLAN Cloud solutions. This is now not possible anymore since the corresponding entry has been removed from the rights management. The access rights to the EPLAN Cloud solutions are now only managed via the sign-in with the EPLAN ID.

For the action Assign function templates, shields which did not exist were entered for the conductors of cables in the Function templates tab. This has been corrected.

If a bill of materials group was changed in the bill of materials navigator using the popup menu item Edit part, this could result in already placed part placements in the 3D mounting layout navigator being displayed as not placed. This has been corrected.

When inserting a module as a device in a layout space, the assigned 3D macro was placed with a 90° degree rotation. If the 3D macro is selected as an individual part for the insertion as a device, it is placed correctly. Now the 3D macro is also placed correctly as a module.

It is now possible again in the parts management to select several parts and to perform an accessory selection on the Accessories tab for all parts at the same time.

If an SQL server database was set for the parts management of Version 2022, the password of the SQL database was displayed in addition to the database name in the status bar of the EPLAN Platform. This has been corrected.

In the parts management the opening and closing of the Multilingual input dialog without modifications resulted under certain conditions in the data of the parts management being considered as modified and the change date being modified after saving. This has been corrected.

The part property External document (ID 22210) is now available again for the property arrangements in the Display tab of a function.

If several rows and columns of an Excel spreadsheet were pasted into the list of the structure identifier management using the popup menu item Paste copied rows, this only functioned after pasting twice. This has been corrected.

If empty or incomplete rework outlines were output in the manufacturing data for Rittal-Perforex BC because of non-available fins, this lead to an error message on the machine. This has been corrected. If no fins are generated, no rework outlines are now created either.

When using user-defined property configurations not all properties were displayed correctly in some projects even though the property configurations were available. This has been corrected.

If report pages were deleted in a project and the project was reported again, it was possible that the incorrect report type was assigned to pages during report generation. This has been corrected.

During the output of the labeling for the report type "Device tag list" it was possible that the visible DT was not output for all devices, depending on the selection made. This has been corrected.

During the output of a model view with automatic dimensioning, no vertical dimensioning was generated for busbars. This has been corrected.

If a counter with hexadecimal number system was used in the PLC address format, it was possible that the connection points were not numbered correctly while duplicating PLC connection points. This has been corrected.

If the Generate protected group during insertion setting was activated for a macro box in a macro project, it was subsequently no longer possible to group the macro boxes and the associated objects via the corresponding functionality when preparing the macros for automatic generation. This was intended to prevent groups from being created in groups in macros. The functionality Group macro boxes and associated objects has now been changed so that it functions for all macro boxes. When inserting a macro, the other superfluous groups contained in the macro are removed when the protected group is generated.

If the data of a part was changed in the Properties tab and you clicked the [Apply] button, the displayed area of the properties moved upward. This has been corrected.

Printing with the [Ctrl] + [P] shortcut key is now possible again. When this shortcut key is executed, the Backstage view Print is opened and the (Print) button is active.

When placing a page macro from the pre-planning navigator the wrong macro name was displayed in the embedded window macro. This has been corrected.

During the import of an XML file created with Version 2.9 into the parts management problems occurred with texts which were not identified as to be translated. This has been corrected.

When synchronizing distributed functions between different representation types, the configuration project for the PLC boxes was erroneously transferred to other representation types (as of Version 2.8). Since the configuration project must only be available at the main function, such a synchronization resulted in the output of check run message 004046. This has been solved. The configuration project of the PLC box is now not transferred anymore to further representation types during synchronization.

If objects were marked on the report pages for the pre-planning, these could not be selected in the pre-planning navigator using the Synchronize selection command. This has been corrected.

If a hierarchy level with many pages was selected in the page navigator, not all pages were always displayed in the graphical preview. This has been corrected.

If the PLC cards with empty configuration projects were connected within a network, the export generated faulty links. This does not happen anymore now. No links are output anymore in the AML file for such PLC cards that were not exported.

When filtering for texts in the parts management using the input in the "Find" field, various object types such as "Drilling pattern" were not considered in Version 2022. This has been corrected. In addition this filter now also affects the data of the object types "Customer" and "Manufacturer / supplier".

If the "Automatic" option was selected in the EPLAN Platform for the User interface design setting, this lead to an undesired behavior in some older Windows versions. This has been corrected. For Windows versions without light or dark mode, the dark user interface design is now also used for the "Automatic" setting in the windows of the EPLAN Cloud products.

All terminals of a terminal strip were displayed in the bill of materials navigator with a set view Bill of materials grouping below a hierarchy level for a bill of materials group even though this bill of materials group was only entered at one terminal. This has been corrected.

If parts were assigned to the main functions in the schematic via a placeholder object, it was possible that in the subsequent conflict dialog for the function overwritten values were displayed which were then not applied though. This has been corrected.

User-defined part properties which are assigned for part references were not - as is usual - sorted according their identifying name in the Parts tab of the property dialog. This resulted in an incorrect sequence. This has been corrected.

When registering add-ons with integrated API add-ins the restriction for specific product variants was ignored in the install.xml. This has been corrected.

When updating macros, property arrangements which are already available in the project are not overwritten. After updating the names of property arrangements that do not match the displayed arrangements anymore were displayed erroneously. This has been corrected. (If the updated property arrangement does not match a property arrangement available in the project anymore, "User-defined" is displayed for this property arrangement.)

When inserting a mounting grid on a frame profile, a horizontal instead of a vertical grid was erroneously created under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

If modifications were performed while copying and pasting a high number of pages in the dialog Adapt structure on the Page tab, this could result in EPLAN being terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If a page with a macro box was opened in a macro project, the page was displayed as selected during Generate automatically in the subsequent dialog. However, no macro was generated. This has been corrected.

If items were placed on a copper rail with a mounting surface and mounting line, these items could subsequently not be moved anymore by using the Placement options dialog when the With reference to original position setting was activated there. This has been corrected.

During the export of a device tag list as a DXF / DWG file it was possible that the connection point designations of symbols were located on the output page below the plot frame. This has been corrected.

It is now possible again to move lines via drag & drop in the list of the dialog Structure identifier management. In the process the position is also indicated again by a thick red line beneath which the moved lines are inserted.

Automatic scrolling from the visible area is now active again in the tree views of the navigators. This way pages in the page navigator can, for example be moved again with drag & drop in the areas which were not visible initially.

The data of a copied part could previously only be transferred in the tree view to a selected part / variants. This has been corrected. The popup menu item Paste data is now also active in the list view.

In Version 2022 it was erroneously possible that when the shortcut keys were customized, keys which were already used internally for functionalities were assigned to other commands. For example, for the [F1] key this resulted in the command being executed at the same time as the help system was called up when [F1] was pressed. This has been corrected. If an internally used key or shortcut key is now specified in the Customize shortcut keys dialog, the text is shown as "Internally used" and an assignment is not possible.

If an item was placed on the mounting line of a copper rail by using the orthogonal function, a different mounting surface was used instead of the originally selected mounting line when the cursor was moved onto another mounting point. This has been corrected.

After the import of older projects from Version 2.7 into newer Versions (2.9 and higher), the values of user-defined properties which were defined as part reference properties were displayed erroneously in the Part tab of the property dialog. This has been corrected.

If pages with device data were also output during the PDF export, only one variant was listed for a part with two variants. This has been corrected.

If multiple variants of a part where each variant contains a separate drilling pattern were placed as devices in the layout space using the Insert center, a drilling pattern was only displayed for the first part variant. No other value was entered for the Used drilling pattern property at the other part variants in the property dialog of the part placement. This has been corrected.

If instead of the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [Enter] the shortcut key [Alt] + [Enter] was entered in the Function templates tab in the Connection point designations column for inserting a line break, EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If several Clipboards were used while copying and pasting different objects, the plot frame was erroneously displayed in the preview of the Paste dialog in some cases. This has been corrected.

If a device to which a macro with placeholder object was assigned was placed in a layout space, the values of the selected value set were changed (erroneously) through the subsequent numbering. This has been corrected.

If a terminal strip was placed from the 3D mounting layout navigator into a layout space via the popup menu item Place, a filter activated for this navigator was not taken into consideration. This has been corrected.

In channels with several I/O connection points only one may be active at any given time. The further I/O connection points can be identified as deactivated by means of the Deactivated I/O connection point property. Deactivated PLC connection points are treated like power supplies and not considered by check run 004020 and during the export of PLC configuration files. If PLC connection points with the function definition "PLC connection point, variable" were identified as deactivated, they were in the past still considered for these actions. This has been corrected.

When selecting variables in placeholder objects, problems occurred with displaying the selected variables in the Assignment tab. The variables were only displayed after the dialog was opened again. This has been corrected.

In the dialog Settings: Project groups (definition) the entry "Parts" could be selected by mistake as the type for additional navigators. This has been corrected.

If 3D graphic data was exported in the STEP Format from the Export3D class by means of the method InstallationSpacesToStep, specific settings from the export scheme were not considered. This has been corrected.

Since some manufacturers of PLC configuration programs have already changed over to the AutomationML standard for Version 2022 in the EPLAN Platform, the converters "PlcDcXMLExchangerBeckhoff" und "XMLRockwellExchanger" have been removed.

A horizontal scroll bar is now shown again in the tree view of the navigators and the project management if the displayed objects and texts do not fit in the dialog width.

If you inserted several macros consecutively in Version 2022, the Variant drop-down list was not updated in the Open dialog. The list always shows the variants of the first macro for all further macros. This has been corrected.

If unused symbol libraries were removed via project compression for a new project which was created by means of the basic project NFPA_Inch_bas001.zw9, symbol libraries stored in the project, such as the symbol library SPECIAL_en_US were removed as well. This has been corrected.

During a PDF export of a project with the Simplified jump function setting, overlapping jump areas result on pages of the type "Panel layout" for specific part placements (such as PLC cards) in the generated PDF file. This partially resulted in jumps to the incorrect PLC card in the schematic. This has been corrected.

The selection was lost in the tree or in the list of the parts management when deleting a search term or when deactivating a filter. This has been corrected.

The page properties Checked by (ID 11082) and Checked date (11083) are now available as filter criteria in the filter of the page navigator.

When working in the parts management with an SQL parts database, saving after a change in the function templates took some time. This has been corrected.

While addressing multiple PLC cards for which no start value was entered in the Start address of PLC card property, it was possible that the carry over for the first counter was calculated incorrectly. This has been corrected.

In a model view the property texts for terminals were not displayed with simplified representation and with the application of the item labeling from the layout space, if in the user-specific 3D settings for graphical editing the Terminal strips (block definition) setting was deactivated in the Apply simplified representation to group box. This has been corrected.

The search index was not updated when carrying over parts data via the action XPamArticlesSyncAction from a new parts database into an older parts database for Version 2.9 (or older). Therefore you could not search for updated parts in the old parts database. This has been corrected.

Using the action XEsUserPropertiesExportAction no user-defined properties could be exported when the project was opened write-protected or if it was opened exclusively by another user for editing. This has been corrected.

If during the automatic optimization of nets the net contained functions with a subordinate DT (for example, when using module parts), it was possible that connections were missing in the associated net definition point after the optimization. This has been corrected.

The displayed name and the description of a user-defined part property were previously only translated or output during the creation of a missing-word list if the Translate property value check box was activated in the configuration dialog. Since this setting is only available for part properties with the field type "Multilingual text", the displayed names and the descriptions of part properties could not be translated with other field types. This has been corrected. The displayed names and descriptions of the user-defined part properties are not translated in accordance with the settings for the scope (dialog Settings: Parts management).

If the Suppress in bill of materials (if filtered) property was used as a sorting criterion during the output of a summarized parts list, incorrect sorting and an incomplete summary of the parts was the result. This has been corrected.

When placing a terminal strip from the 3D mounting layout navigator with an activated collision check, a collision check was only carried out when the first terminal was placed. The further terminals were placed despite collision. This has been corrected.

During device selection the selection of the accessories from an accessory list takes place by means of the Select accessories dialog. In this dialog the Technical characteristics (ID 22017) property is also available for the column configuration.

During the PDF export of project pages via a command line call with the output in "Black and white", white lines were displayed on a white background for autoconnect lines with the EPLAN color number 7 in the generated PDF file. This has been corrected.

If the Modification allowed during selection setting was activated for the parts management, modifications to the individual parts of an assembly could be made during a part selection for this assembly. This has been corrected.

If you entered properties from the "Revision" category in a form for the Combine in a line by form property (such as, for example,Revision name (change tracking)), the data on the respective report page (for example in the revision overview) were not combined in a line. This has been corrected.

In navigators (such as the device navigator) renaming by using the [F2] button did not work under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

For planning objects the check run message 028014 was displayed even though no part was stored at the planning objects. This has been corrected.

If property texts of symbols were moved in the graphical editor, some symbols could subsequently not be moved via drag & drop. This has been corrected.

If more than 16 characters were used in the parts management for the short description of manufacturers, not all parts were displayed in the tree view for the node of the same name. This has been corrected. Now 30 characters are possible again.

If a zooming in or zooming out several times consecutively by means of the mouse wheel took place for an opened project page with many image files, this could result in EPLAN being terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

While duplicating objects on P&I diagram pages the assignment to the structure segments was lost for structure boxes in the pre-planning. As a result the structure boxes and the objects located within the boxes were numbered incorrectly. This has been corrected.

In the dialogs Use existing PLC connection points blockwise, Use existing PLC addresses blockwise and Move PLC inputs and outputs the performance when moving table cells has been improved.

The import of routing connections has been improved. For terminals an assignment of source and target is now also possible again via the terminal and connection point designations.

If several opened project pages in the graphical editor were assigned in several tab groups, the tab was positioned on the ribbon after closing a project page as if no project page was open. This has been corrected.

While generating a connection list an incorrect sorting was output when the Connection: Cross-section / diameter with unit property was used as the sorting criterion. This has been corrected.

If a tree configuration with specific properties was set for the parts management when working with a SQL parts database, this could result in parts being displayed double in the tree view. This has been corrected.

If you specified in the translation settings that texts should be translated by word, and in addition the check box Line breaks: Text-based was activated, it was possible that no line breaks existed in the translated text. This behavior occurred when the entire sentence was found in the dictionary. In this case the entry is not translated word-by-word, but rather used for the entire sentence. Line breaks from the source text are lost. This has been corrected. If the entire sentence is found in the dictionary during the word-by-word translation, the line breaks are now set at a similar position to that in the source text.

In the dialog Number pages: Preview of result a conflict for the page names was no longer displayed with a selection when numbering pages. This has been corrected.

While inserting dash-dot or point lines in the graphical editor the points were not displayed anymore if the line thickness was set to the value "0.00 mm" in the properties of the line. This has been corrected.

In the dialogs Edit terminal strip and Edit plug the marker of the currently selected table cells was lost during specific actions (part selection or selection of a level). This has been corrected.

If a part was selected in the list view of the parts management and the Edit externally dialog was opened via the popup menu item Export data, the selection was ignored and the check box Apply to entire parts management was activated in the dialog. This has been corrected.

The execution of the changeLayer action for changing layer properties took significantly longer during the customizing of many layers than the manual customizing via the layer management in the user interface when several project pages were open. This has been corrected.

If elements with numerous objects or extensive graphics were selected and moved or duplicated in a 2D editor, this process could take some time. This now takes place faster.

If the Manufacturer property was used for the tree configuration in the parts management and if this was not the last node in the tree view, the parts below the last node were displayed double or incorrectly. This has been corrected.

In some drop-down lists, for example for the selection of a line type or a color, the selection with the keyboard did not function. If a selected value was confirmed with the [Input] button, it was subsequently not possible anymore to change the table cell with the cursor buttons. Instead the values of the drop-down list were run through. This has been corrected.

During the export of the bill of materials list in XML format a part was listed under an incorrect DT under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If a specific language was selected in the parts management in the Filter dialog for a filter criterion in the [Language] column, this setting was not saved under specific conditions and reset to the "All project languages" entry. This has been corrected.

If the properties for two model views which are located on one project page were edited together and specific 3D objects were hidden in the property dialog via the [Toggle] button, this was only implemented for one of the model views. This has been corrected.

After property texts had been moved in the graphical editor, it was possible that the icon for the set option "From layer" was not displayed anymore in the View tab of the property dialog for the display property Angle. This has been corrected.

If a filter for specific product subgroups was created in the parts management (for example "Plug: Switching jumper"), it was possible that a different value (for example "Terminals: Switching jumper") was displayed in the Filter dialog than in the value selection. This occurred for properties which are used in multiple product subgroups. Now the subgroups are listed behind the property name in brackets both in the Filter dialog as well as during the value selection (e.g. "Switching jumper (terminals, plugs)"). for such properties.

In some table cells numerical values can be entered by using two arrow buttons, for example in the Parts tab of the property dialog in the Number of units / quantity column. Under certain conditions the numerical values entered this way were not correctly saved when the dialog was closed with [OK]. This now works again.

The "Arial Black" font was displayed incorrectly in the editors. This has been corrected.

If the property texts of functions (such as the engraving text) were edited when the options Direct editing were activated, the available values could be selected via a selection list but not applied. This has been corrected.

When inserting texts copied from MS Excel into a property table of the EPLAN platform, the last line break is now not inserted anymore.

If a macro is selected in the parts management at a part, the last used macro directory is now preset again. This behavior also applies for the selection dialog when inserting page macros in the page navigator.

If values were entered in the User-defined properties tab for a user-defined property and then a changeover to a different tab of the parts management carried out, the entered value was deleted. This has been corrected.

Previously the commands Format and Copy format could not be inserted into the quick access toolbar. This has been corrected.

During the export of manufacturing data for wire fabrication in the "Steinhauer - PWA" format an error message was output when an attempt was made to export items that, from a data processing point of view, are not length-variable items (for example rails on busbar adapters). This has been corrected.

If the translation setting Translate on input was activated, an automatic translation was also performed when manual translations were entered in the Multilingual input dialog. If the entered text did not exist in the dictionary, the translation is deleted. This has been corrected. The automatic translation is now only performed again for direct inputs in input fields or table cells.

If a page filter with the filter criterion "Function on page / product (main identifier)" was used during the PDF export, no pages were output during the export even though pages with this activated filter were displayed in the page navigator. This has been corrected.

When synchronizing a newer parts database from Version 2022 with a parts database of Version 2.9 no functioning progress bar was displayed for larger data amounts and longer duration. This has been corrected.

In the part property Cable assignment diagram form it is now possible again for parts of the "Cable" product group to select a form using .

A change of the SQL parts database in the settings of the parts management resulted in a system error and no parts were displayed in the part master data navigator. This has been corrected.

If the extended clipboard of Windows 10 was used for editing property texts with an activated option Direct editing, a text could be selected but not inserted anymore. This has been corrected.

In placeholder objects the column width of value sets could not be adjusted via the column separator using the mouse on the Values tab under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If all EPLAN colors are set to a CAD color (for example 2 = yellow) in the scheme for the DXF / DWG export, all displayed elements of this color are now displayed again in the exported DXF / DWG file.

If two or more layout spaces in the graphical editor were open in separate windows, the names of the layout spaces were not highlighted in bold anymore in the layout space navigator. This has been corrected.

In the property dialog it was possible during longer work with EPLAN that a time lag occurred while opening the tabs Display or Format. This has been corrected.

If the action XMExportConnectionsAction was performed for the export of connection properties for external editing as a command in the ribbon, the project specified via the ProjectName parameter was opened write-protected so that the externally edited target file could subsequently not be imported into the project. If a project is now specified in the command line of the command with /ProjectName and immediate importing after external editing is specified via /ExecutionMode:2, the project is opened editable and the externally editable target file is imported again.

When 2D drilling views with threaded holes are output, the core holes in the 2D drilling views are now displayed norm-compliant.

It was not possible in the Settings tab of the Settings: Manufacturing data export / Labeling dialog to remove the value set for the Filter setting setting by means of the [Del] key. Even if nothing was displayed, the previously set filter was still active. This has been corrected.

When values with decimal places were displayed, inconsistent rounding occurred in the parts management. This has been corrected.

When EPLAN was started with activated rights management, the start screen was closed as soon as the sign-in dialog was opened. After confirming the password with [OK], the EPLAN icon was no longer displayed in the task bar. It was therefore not clear for the user whether the start procedure was continued. This has been corrected.

In placeholder objects it is now possible again to exchange symbols via the selection of value sets.

After a page had been deleted in the page navigator the marking was not placed at the next page in the tree, but the marking was lost. This has been corrected.

While routing connections from an item to a terminal strip, saddle jumpers on the terminals meant that no entry into the routing path network could be determined so that as a result a correct route was prevented. This has been corrected.

When STEP files with activated check box Only external representation of the enclosure were exported, it was possible that not all items of the external representation for a layout space were exported under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If a text on a project page was copied by means of the popup menu item and inserted again, the text to be inserted was only visible again after a movement with the mouse. This has been corrected.

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 99.2.120. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN Cogineer, etc.).

When using existing functions, problems could occur at complex macros, which resulted in not all device tags being assigned correctly. This has been corrected.

When calling up the CopyTo method from the Page class, the progress bar was always displayed even without the use of the Progress class. This has been corrected.

While inserting diagonal connections on project pages, the arrows displayed at the cursor while drawing the diagonals were always displayed in black for each set color scheme. This has been corrected.

When placing items from the 2D panel layout navigator onto the mounting panel of a panel layout page using drag & drop, problems occurred if a multi-line page was opened in an undocked window. This has been corrected.

If a multilingual property was used for a user-defined tree configuration in the parts management, this could result in parts being displayed below an incorrect node and no value being displayed for this property in the list view if values of the respective property were identified as not translatable. This has been corrected.

If several objects were selected below a device in the device navigator, the graphical preview remained empty if a part for which no image was stored was located below the selected objects. This has been corrected. Now objects for which no preview is possible are ignored and a preview is displayed for the other objects.

The properties CPU: Name [2] to CPU: Name [128] could be edited in tabular editing even if the respective PLC box was marked as a CPU. This has been corrected. Furthermore the property CPU: Name [1] is now always write-protected in tabular editing and can only be edited in the property dialog of the respective PLC box.

During the automatic generation of macros from a macro project, path variables in the Macro definition tab resulted in no macros being generated and error messages being output. This has been corrected.

If you carried out the action Adopt variables in the property dialog of placeholder objects in the Assignment tab via the popup menu, this process could take a long time. This now runs faster.

When moving structure identifiers with subordinate structures in the structure identifier navigator, the subordinate structures were not sorted correctly, depending on whether the tree or list view was selected. This has been fixed._.

During the placement of macros via drag & drop from the pre-planning navigator, the wrong macro name was entered at the macro box of the placed macro under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If a macro is selected in the parts management using the dialog Select macro, a correct preview is now displayed again in the dialog Graphical preview for the selected macro.

If an AutoCAD file was imported as a project page during the DXF / DWG import, it was possible under certain conditions that filled polylines were displayed incorrectly. This has been corrected.

If you have selected a project in the page navigator and want to print only the filtered pages of an active page filter, it is now possible again to activate the Selection option in the Print dialog.

When the source and target of a routing connection were exchanged, the routing direction did not change, i.e. the properties Routing direction source (ID 31114) and Routing direction target (ID 31115) were not exchanged. This has been corrected.

If a section is selected for project options in the navigator, it is displayed in the graphical preview. By double-clicking the graphical preview you can now jump to the associated project page again.

If you selected a different printer than the default printer in the Backstage view Print and changed a setting in the printer properties (for example the page format), the print preview was not updated. This now works again.

If several structure boxes were placed as polylines next to each other on a project page, it was possible that structure boxes were erroneously recognized as placed within other structure boxes, depending on the position of the corner points. The device tags of these boxes were then nested accordingly. This has been corrected.

When the collision check was activated, it was not possible to change the length of an equipped mounting rail since it erroneously always collided with an item placed on the mounting rail. This has been corrected.

If a part from the device list was inserted as a device in the schematic, the sorting of the parts in the device list was lost. This has been corrected.

During the PDF export of report pages, specific format settings for placeholder texts for the output of symbol graphics in reports were not considered. As a result the output symbol graphics in the generated PDF were always displayed in the original size. This has been corrected.

The color specified for a project via the project group assignment was displayed under specific conditions as a border for the graphical editor even if the pages of a project without project group assignment (i.e. without color) were opened in this editor. This has been corrected.

When deleting unused variables for placeholder objects by means of the DeleteUnusedVariables method from the PlaceHolder class in the EPLAN API used variables were also deleted. This has been corrected.

If an "older" parts database of Version 2022 was opened by means of the EPLAN API, this parts database was automatically updated. This has been corrected. As was the case up to Version 2.9 SP1 old parts databases are now not updated automatically anymore, but opened write-protected. The EPLAN API now provides the UpgradePartsDb method from the MDPartsManagement class and the UpdateScheme method from the MDPartsDatabase class for targeted updating of parts databases.

When customizing the ribbon it was possible under certain conditions that the tooltip and the description were not saved for an added command. This has been corrected.

The functionality Synchronize project caused an error during the second synchronization if the source project was renamed or deleted beforehand. This has been corrected.

The import of connection data from external editing resulted in new connection definition points being created for unchanged data under specific conditions. This has been corrected.

If the [Esc] key for the Cancel action command was removed in the Customize shortcut keys dialog, this shortcut key could not be reassigned. This has been corrected. The [Esc] key can no longer be removed.

If the ribbon of an undocked graphical editor was minimized, it was possible to move the tabs of this ribbon up or down with the mouse wheel. This has been corrected.

If pages were scrolled in a graphical editor, it was possible under certain conditions that the contents of a model view were no longer displayed. After the view was updated via [F5], the model view was visible again. This has been corrected.

In the list view of the part selection, sorting by double-clicking a column header now functions again. If this procedure takes some time, a progress bar is now displayed.

When specifying an optional coordinate base point by using the Base point shift functionality, the displayed elements disappeared on the project page in specific situations. Only when the view was zoomed or updated via [F5] were the elements visible again. This has been corrected.

If data (parts, accessory list, etc.) were renamed to an old parts database of Version 2.9 after synchronization, this resulted in both the renamed and the original record being available in the old parts database during a renewed synchronization. This has been corrected. During the synchronization a check is carried out whether a record was renamed and if this is the case, the record with the "old" designation is deleted in Version 2.9.

During the synchronization of a newer parts database from Version 2022 with a parts database of Version 2.9 the activated setting of the Alignable property for terminal parts was not transferred correctly. This has been corrected.

Previously the commands Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete from the Home tab of the ribbon could not be inserted into the quick access toolbar. This has been corrected.

If several projects were open, the name of the project opened first was always displayed in the graphical preview, regardless of which project was selected in the page navigator. This has been corrected.

In the device navigator, texts (displayed DT, etc.) were not converted to upper-case letters during renaming, even though conversion to upper-case was activated in the settings. This has been corrected.

Customizing the ribbon in undocked windows resulted in problems. The menu item Customize ribbon is therefore now only available in the EPLAN main window. Exporting and importing a ribbon is now also only possible in the main window.

If the connection cross-section was specified with the unit "AWG" at a connection definition point, the check run 005093 erroneously returned a message, even though no values had been entered for the connected terminals in the Terminals: AWG from and Terminals: AWG to properties. This has been corrected.

When outputting labeling data, for example for the report type "Summarized parts list", the data of the mechanical devices were only exported if the setting Apply to entire project was activated. This has been corrected.

If the visible device tag of interruption points was filled with subsequent blanks for formatting purposes, the device tags were represented indented differently than in Version 2.9 in the graphical editor. This has been corrected.

In property tables (for example in tabular editing) or in the list views of the navigators, it could happen that property values were not inserted correctly when cutting and pasting. This now works again.

If several parts were moved in their position on the Parts tab of the property dialog, this process could take some time under certain conditions. This now takes place faster.

If in the Unfold dialog the Show drilling pattern property was activated and if cut-outs were located on item edges, these item edges were not always drawn completely in the copper unfolds. This has been corrected.

During the search in the property overview and in the Properties tab of the parts management it was not possible to search for the identifying numbers of the properties or for their index values. This has been corrected.

The index values of user-defined properties were not displayed in the Selected format elements field in the settings for external editing. This has been corrected.

When moving an item in the layout space, it was possible in the activated design mode that the cursor jumped to an incorrect position after defining the starting point and entering the X, Y and Z coordinates. This has been corrected.

In pre-planning, functions were numbered when moving PCT loops even though the identifiers at the PCT loop had not changed and the identifiers for the functions were not relevant or not valid. This has been corrected.

When working with a Chinese keyboard it was not possible to enter Chinese characters into the activated field in the processing mode in the property tables or in the list views of navigators. This has been corrected.

If data for external editing was exported and path variables for the project properties $(PROJPROP_<ID>) were used in the Edit externally dialog when specifying the target directory, these path variables were not resolved during the export. This has been corrected.

During the copying and pasting of project pages with frozen model views it was possible under certain conditions that the item labeling was missing for model views on the inserted project pages. This has been corrected.

Parts were selected incorrectly in the tree view of the parts management if the superior node was selected in addition to the first selected parts in a node. This has been fixed._.

When inserting a pre-planning object by means of a macro, the system message "Invalid type conversion" was output. This has been corrected.

If a graphic whose lines intersected the point of origin was to be moved in the plot frame editor via drag & drop, the point of origin was erroneously located at the cursor and EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If a filter was opened in a navigator (e.g. the "Function designation" filter in the page navigator) and the last entry was selected and moved up with the shortcut key [Ctrl] + [Alt] + arrow key [Up], an unexpected error occurred. This has been fixed._.

During the export of manufacturing data to "Rittal - Wire Terminal WT" a cable connection that had the value "Line" for the Connection: Association property caused an unexpected error message. This has been corrected. In the future, not only cable connections but also phase busbar connections, line connectors and conduit connections will be excluded from the export.

Display problems could occur in large projects with many pages when browsing through the tree view of the page navigator. The selection jumped back from the last selected page to the originally selected page so that the active page was no longer visible. This has been corrected.

During data exchange between EPLAN Electric P8 and EPLAN Harness proD the property Function text (ID 20011) is now also taken into consideration. The exchange file for the export and import of wire harness data (*.hpdex) has been extended accordingly.

When copying and pasting P&I diagram pages with linked pre-planning segments into another project, PCT loops were erroneously numbered when the designation of the PCT loops ended with a letter. This has been corrected.

If you had created a button in a toolbar using the Check project command and selected a different image for the button, EPLAN had to be restarted. This has been corrected.

If the greater-than sign (">") was used in the displayed DT for extended reference identification, it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly under certain conditions. This has been corrected.

After a Microsoft Office 365 update (e.g. build number 16.0.15028.20160), it was possible that the EPLAN platform automatically restarted after it was exited. This has been corrected. A workaround has been implemented in this EPLAN update. According to information from Microsoft, this issue will be addressed in another Microsoft Office update in the near future.

When registering add-ons with integrated API add-ins, problems could occur under certain conditions when customizing the ribbon. This has been corrected.

After a Microsoft Office 365 update (e.g. build number 16.0.15028.20160), it was possible that the EPLAN platform automatically restarted after it was exited. This has been corrected. A workaround has been implemented in this EPLAN update. According to information from Microsoft, this issue will be addressed in another Microsoft Office update in the near future.

An infinite loop could occur during the PDF export of large projects. This has been corrected.

If an action was performed (such as, for example, selecting pages) in very large projects with an open graphical preview in the page navigator, this could lead to EPLAN only responding again after a few seconds. This has been corrected.

During the export of manufacturing data for the wire fabrication in the "Rittal - WireTerminal WT" format the values for the Dual sleeve prescribed property were exchanged under specific conditions for connections that existed as daisy chains. This has been corrected.

If EPLAN Data Portal is arranged as a flyout within the EPLAN Platform, the filter settings used for the import of a part are now kept if the flyout is opened again afterwards and another part is to be imported.

If a connection list was output as a report while working with project groups and the name of the project selected in the Connection list (Total) dialog in the Page navigator field, EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

When creating a user-defined property configuration for project properties it was possible that EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If parts data was exported as an XML file and later imported again into a parts database, it was possible that after the import variants without function templates had the same function templates as the first variants of the parts. This has been corrected.

If an SQL server database was set for the parts management, the filter did not work. This has been corrected.

When calling up the Create method from the Component class, the nMacroFromArticleVariant parameter was ignored. This has been corrected.

If the dialog for printing was called up for a project without pages, EPLAN was terminated unexpectedly. This has been corrected.

If several texts which contain line breaks were copied from another program (for example Excel) and inserted in EPLAN in multilingual fields of a table (for example for tabular editing, in the dialog Addresses / assignment lists, etc.) these line breaks were displayed as paragraph marks but not interpreted as a line break. This now works again.

During the search for values with blanks in the parts management problems occurred if there was more than one blank in the value. This has been corrected.

Selecting a page in the tree of the page navigator by entering the first number of the page name now also functions again when the number block of the keyboard is used.

If identifiers were moved by one position by means of the arrow buttons (Move up) and (Move down) in the tree of the structure identifier management, the marker of the selected structure identifier was lost in the tree. This has been corrected.

If a QR code with a specific block property that contains format elements for the page was inserted in a form, the QR code on the generated report pages was calculated incorrectly in the project. This has been corrected.

If the Manufacturer property was used for the tree configuration in the parts management and if it was not the last node in the tree view, not all parts were displayed. This has been corrected.

In Version 2022 Update2 the display of the path division in the graphical editor did not work when the command Schematic paths was used. This has been corrected.

If the parts database was used by a further user, the import of parts from EPLAN Data Portal was not possible. This has been corrected.

When exporting parts data in the EDZ or XML format the values of user-defined properties with the field types "Bool", "Integer" or "Decimal" were not exported. This has been corrected.

If the [...] button was used to branch into the Configure properties dialog in the parts management during the selection of a scheme for user-defined properties, an unexpected error message was displayed in the system messages. This has been corrected.

The Chromium component "CefSharp" has been updated to the current version 99.2.120. This component is used for the display of contents in the browser windows of the EPLAN platform (for example EPLAN Data Portal, EPLAN Cogineer, etc.).

For terminals to which an assembly is assigned as a part, no terminal designation has been output in the "Summarized parts list" report when a terminal strip definition was simultaneously available for the respective terminal. This has been corrected.

The value of a user-defined property which is defined as a part reference property is now output again in the parts list for terminals to which a broken-up assembly is assigned as a part.

There was a problem during the updating of stored device data when using the part selection via API. This has been corrected.

The project was not closed correctly if EPLAN was terminated by the user signing out from their Windows session. This has been corrected.

The import of layers using the parameter TYPE:IMPORT of the action GraphicalLayerTable did not function when one or more layers already existed. This has been corrected.

During the import of multiple property arrangements in the property dialog it was possible that this procedure was aborted. This has been corrected.

When calling up the Create method from the Component class, the nMacroFromArticleVariant parameter was ignored. This has been corrected.

If the Procurement property was selected as a further column in the parts management during configuration of the list, no parts were displayed in the list afterwards anymore. This has been corrected.

When opening a project with a more recent hotfix / update version, the Modification date property was changed because the internal build number changed due to the update of the project. In the future, this will no longer be the case. The date will only be changed if any data changes due to the update of the project.

During a parts data synchronization from a SQL parts database Version 2022 into an older SQL parts database Version 2.9, the values for the property Cable type / type designation (ID 22030) were not updated in the old database but rather deleted. This has been corrected.

If a part number was entered manually in the Edit terminal strip dialog or when editing in tables for a terminal it was possible that the part variant had an undefined value. Now the part variant is set again to the default value "1" in this case.

If a check run derived from the class FunctionVerification was created by means of the EPLAN API, it did not function when no filter was set for the function category. This has been corrected.

The selection of a device in the Insert center took place much slower when an SQL database was used for the parts management instead of an EPLAN database. This has been corrected.

When customizing the ribbon via API using the AddIcon method from the RibbonBar class, the images can now not only be transferred as file names of a SVG file but also the complete contents of an SVG file as a character string.
